  1. It looks pretty certain that the Haas team will be joining F1 for 2015. This is an American team that will almost certainly be based in Europe. There is no information on what engine they'll use but my guess is they'll use Merc engines to replace McLaren who are switching to Honda. There should be more news very soon. It would seem that the other prospective entrant, "Stefan GP" headed by Colin Colles will not be accepted. Pete
  2. At one time you could pocket the money but most employers will take the money you receive from your salary. At one stage the company I worked for expected you to come in at weekends if you were on shifts but that all changed when one guy on shifts found himself on a 4 month fraud trial. Pete
  3. Because I'm retired I can claim very little, £5.71 a day subsistence or £12.71 if god forbid I'm there for over 10 hours. Fuel allowance is 31.4 p per mile and the crown court is 3 miles away. For those working its £32.47 a day, if the trial goes over 10 days its £64.95 above 201 days £114.03. That figure doubles if you're there for more than 4 hours a day. Pete
  4. Great beaches there too, some of them as good as anywhere in the world. My late father in law had a static caravan in a farm near Tudweiliog and I used to go down there several times a year. It's a real shame that that side of The Llyn Peninsular is really just out of reach of The Wales Runs as there are some great roads and scenery over there....some very narrow lanes too . Pete
  5. Just noticed you're in Sarn, lovely part of the world . Pete
  6. Very few people are exempt these days. The list includes serving Police Officers, who get a further 5 year exemption when they leave or retire, Solicitors/Barristers/Judges (who also get the 5 year exemption), members of the armed forces, The insane and anyone who has an unspent conviction within the last 10 years and the over 70's. The law was changed in 2004 and brought in occupations previously exempt, for example Doctors, Vets, Pharmacists, MP's, Peers, Dentists, etc. One of my fathers friends was on the Moors Murders trial in 1966, he was excused from any further Jury service for life. Pete
  7. I thought I'd got away with it as time was running out but it arrived this morning. Not what you're thinking but a jury summons. Funny thing was Caroline and I were talking about the Hillsborough inquest and how it would last 12 months just a couple of days ago . Hopefully it'll only last a couple of weeks in my case, fingers crossed. Pete
  8. There's 2 in our family, I've owned mine for 7 years and 2 months and Caroline has had hers for 3 years and 6 months. Pete
  9. Welcome back Luke . Pete
  10. Yes, Horse poo is organic vegetable matter, just decays away. When I was a lad , our milkman had a horse and cart and the poo was snaffled up for compost by the locals before it had chance to cool down. Pete
  11. We've had Saharan dust in the past but so far nothing. However, I'm getting a huge amount of conifer debris, something I've not seen before. It's very small, each piece is around a millimeter but the car is covered in them. I'm guessing the trees (which I planted myself in 1980) are going through some sort of shedding process. Pete
  12. Yes, they bury it rather than doing it on the pavement/verge/etc and as they are in most cases somewhat smaller than dogs do less of it . Pete
  13. Yeah, its the date of registration rather than the model type I'm afraid. Quite a number of the prefacelift Zeds were registered after the cutoff point, can't remember the exact date but Mid March 2006 I think. Pete
  14. Quite possibly, as you said the Lamborghini didn't even attempt to stop, I reckon at 30 or less it should have stopped in inches! Maybe The Lambo speeded up, thinking it could get through the gap, I did that once when I was doing about 30 and a car turned out in front of me although to be fair the road was a fair bit wider. BTW, stopping distance at 30 is 75 feet, probably half that for a Lambo. Pete
  15. Ginger today at Tesco in Mold, reg MC53 *** , Azure a couple of days ago in Ewloe coming off the A55 onto the A494, reg possibly FW06 *** Pete
  16. It's usually held on Saturday after we get back from the run. Pete
  17. Sums it up pretty well really. Edit, interestingly the air bags didn't deploy and the Lambo doesn't seem to have a front number plate. I guess it could have been knocked off but a quick browse through some internet pics reveals they are mounted in the centre of the bumper which looked undamaged to me. I also considered that maybe the Lambo's vision was obscured by a parked car but then noticed it was LHD so it should have given the driver a decent view. Pete
  18. I was in The Cubs...believe it or not I attended the Sutton Coldfield jamboree in the 1950's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9th_World_Scout_Jamboree Pete
  19. I ticked the last box but I'm not minted or on the dole . Pete
  20. I remember when I was in the Nissan dealership in Chester, I overheard the receptionist telling a customer that labor charges were £76 an hour....and that was in 2010! The garage up the road charge charges £30, last P1 cost me under £100. Pete
  21. Spotted today mid afternoon, it was black with no obvious signs of modding. Too far away to read the reg number. Pete
  22. Less than half an hour to qualy and its bucketing down....should mix things up a bit , assuming of course they are actually able to get out. Pete
  23. They look like an extended version of the standard Nissan spats. I quite like them. Pete
