  1. What Zoo was it btw? Chester Zoo, just 12 miles away from where I live and considered to be one of the best 15 Zoo's in the world. Pete
  2. Welcome along. Yes, mine's CW registered in Bangor. Pete
  3. Thanks, had a great day at The Zoo, weather was perfect . Pete
  4. An 08 reg 313 in Black parked up at Chester Zoo today, needed a good clean . Pete
  5. Have a look at the VIN number either through the windscreen or on the chassis, if it contains "Z33" then its a U.K car. It should start JN12**Z33. Pete
  6. Bonnet looks a bit out to me, other than that though looks great. Pete
  7. Had to drive home from Bradford once not only barefooted but with just my undies on after getting completely soaked and covered in mud in a thunderstorm while running a half marathon. When I set off it was such a lovely day that I went in my running kit and didn't take a change of clothes . Driving completely barefooted was horrible, luckily it was dual carriageway and motorway all the way home and I didn't need to stop for fuel . Pete

  9. There's another silver Zed with those Dotz wheels on. Can't remember who owned it but it was at Wales 2011 on a private plate that originated in Northern Ireland. If I remember correctly it had a mini michelin man strapped onto the slats of the front bumper . Found it!! Pete
  10. It's not just in cars where you get badge snobbery, probably a lot worse in the world of hi-fi. Pete
  11. Yes, it's getting awkward for us too. We have a 4 year old grandchild that we'd like to take down to the beach, the zoo, etc but it means taking both Zeds, wish I'd have kept the Clio now. Pete
  12. Charlotte Sparkles, yeah hit 500 posts in a few weeks then vanished. Pete
  13. Similar to what I get here, except I don't get sparrows, other than hedge sparrows or starlings and Redpolls only visit in Late March. Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers are very rare, we get the Great Spotted variety here most days. In addition your birds we also have a pair of Willow Tits, plus a good assortment of Magpies, Jays, Crows, Jackdaws, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons and the odd Thrush. No Red Squirrels around here but plenty of greys including one that only has one arm. There are other birds present that don't come to the feeders, Goldcrests, Spotted Flycatchers, Wrens, Treecreepers and there's a number of small birds I've yet to identify...warblers of some type for sure though. Most interesting thing I've ever seen was a Polecat, one about 6 years ago and another 3 years ago....even the large cat we had then backed away . Pete
  14. Passed my driving test in a MK 1 . Pete
  15. Times have obviously moved on since I was last there in 1994 . Pete
  16. Another thing to keep in mind is that there's a fair few Toll Roads in Florida, so make sure you have cash on you on your drive from the airport to International Drive. Pete
  17. Right, my bad,Caroline's lights do not stay on, in fact there is a 3rd (very small) light just under the on/off switches that comes on when you switch the lights on. My Zed does not have this light. You can make it out in this photo Is this unique to the roadster? Pete
  18. Yes, average May daytime temps are 31.5 and 20 at night. The main thing though is there's only rain on 7 days a month and when it rains it really rains. July and August aren't that much hotter by day, 33 , 26 at night but humidity is crippling and it rains 16 days a month. Going early in the season is the way forward, going later, September or October brings the slight risk of hurricanes, which can reach as far inland as Orlando. I'm not really into theme parks but Sea World was really good, so good we went twice, Wet'N'Wild was good fun too, but some of the others were so packed (and hot) that it was a blessed relief to get back to our hotel. Pete
  19. I also went in 1994. One place we found was Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater lake in Florida, built in the 1930's after a massive hurricane killed 100's of people. We actually saw several crocs there, really close up too and in the distance a massive thunderstorm was rolling across the lake...awesome. There's a place in Orlando called The Florida Mall for your shopping, well worth a visit. Weather should be O.K in May, go in July or August as I did means that most of the parks go into shutdown mode when the inevitable thunder storms rolls in any time from early afternoon onwards. Sadly about half of our theme park trips ended prematurely due to the weather. Space centre is a must too, I went twice and there was a shuttle on the pad ready to go. Pete
  20. This is especially true if you buy your cars new (or almost new). I looked to trade my 2006 Zed for one of the last 313's in 2008, had I excepted the offer it would have meant a loss of £11,000 in just 30 months (and it only had 5k on the clock) . In the 6 years since then I'd estimate it's gone down a further £7,500 and providing I keep it in good nick I'd expect it to go down somewhere around £1k a year. Had I have exchanged the Zed I would over the 6 years have lost £15,000-£17,000 on the 2008 by now. On the minus side it'll mean that if I want something nice I'll have to find a fair sum of money. Pete
