Yes, Caroline's is even worse, needs a microscopic allen key which I can never find, despite putting it in a safe place every time ...must have bought about 6 replacement keys as I bought her holder 12 years ago when she had the Audi TT. Pete

20" wheels on standard suspension on our 2 Zeds, they would look better lowered but I'm pretty pleased with them as they are. Ride quality does suffer a bit though. Pete

. It's a real pain taking the tax disc holder apart, started off with 5 micro screws, now I'm down to 3 and it has to be wedged between the window and the dash now. Pete

BTW, Despite the facelift lights being different to the prefacelift lights it is possible to fit them onto a 276 Zed. I've not done this myself so I don't know what it involves but there are a few here who've done it. Pete

Lovely Zed but those wheels.... Pete

American ones are no good for RHD vehicles for the reason you stated (sort of). Pete

How to Smurfadise a Zed......**Yellow Brembos** P29

Yes, I agree, looks really tidy ! Pete -
You'll be able to pay in 12 installments soon. I think it starts in October, the same time as the tax disc is abolished. Pete

I've never had a parking ticket either, did pick up a £2 fine though for not having my parking lights on. This was in the middle of Chester under bright street lights. Must have been a quiet night for the police as my mate also got fined £1 for blowing his horn after the curfew. Pete

To a certain extent all the cars I've owned have done this but The Zed takes it to a new level. Could be the size of the tank, it's huge compared to anything else I've had. Pete

Liquid Aluminium is apparently the rarest colour in The U.S. It carried a $1,300 premium, was virtually identical to Chrome Silver (which I think is Blade Silver here) and was 2003 only. Brickyard Red also a 2003 only colour had sales of 2,081 in The States. There are no known Liquid Aluminium or Brickyard Red's in The U.K . EDIT % is 1150/161878 x 100 = 0.71% Pete

None here too and in 48 years of driving I've never been breath tested. My last driving offence was in May 1991, speeding at 80 in a 60 zone, 3 points. Pete

Are they indigenous to the UK then now?! Yes. They are very popular as pets since a change in U.K law in 2007 and a number have escaped. I don't think these are the Racoons we are most familiar with though, the North American variety but European Racoons found in mainland Europe. I once saw a Racoon, American variety half a mile from where I live in The mid 80's crossing a lane at about one in the morning. I later learned that it had escaped from Chester Zoo , 10 miles away. EDIT, Got my facts mixed up there, in fact they are Asiatic Racoons also known as Racoon Dogs and there's an epidemic of them in Germany from the deliberate release of a pair many years ago Pete

Should be a great race tomorrow................for 3rd position . Pete

Got lucky and pulled the correct fuse , still needed a bit of work as new oven has spade connectors, old oven used a plastic connection block. All good now though. Pete

Wales 2014 Driving Groups. We need your input.
JetSet replied to glrnet's topic in National Events & Shows
Not planned on the road, but inevitable that some stops will lead to all being together - Sunday lunchtime at the Waterloo where we have use of a dedicated car park is always a great spectacle. Unlikely I would think as the groups set off a few minutes apart and slower traffic will get in between the groups. However, if one group gets held up by a tractor (or a caravan ) or takes a wrong turn, cough, then it's possible the following group will catch up. Pete -
Looking to buy one tonight, advice needed! 05 soft top with 30k

Mine was £154 for 6 months the lower rate of tax, the higher rate is £260 or something like that. Pete -
Hi Pete, As an electrician I'd advise turning it off from the breaker for absolute safety. Its for situations like this labeling the consumer unit comes in handy Once you've found out which one it is, I'd suggest sticking labels on the breakers too for future reference. If you really don't want to reset the entire thing then you can isolate the cooker from the cooker switch - but I wouldn't advise it Cheers, I'll double check to see if it's already labelled or marked (it's in a very dark place) and if not I'll take a guess. If I get it wrong then I'll just use the master switch on the fuse box. This'll be the 4th cooker we've had and I changed all the others myself with no problems. Pete

Not a big deal but the SatNav CD is most likely gone and they are almost impossible to replace. Pete
-
It would take me that long to explain but basically it's down to IP's and getting all my hubs and switches back in synch. Some software has to be reset too as I run a utility that measures upload/download and is IP specific, it's a nightmare that I've already gone through once this week as we had a planned 8 hour power outage on Tuesday. Pete

It's been serviced on mileage, would be a big deal for some but not for me. Pete

A new cooker is arriving today and I need to wire it in. Can I simply use the cooker switch to isolate the circuit or do I really need to pull the fuse? Problem is there are 2 red 30 amp fuses, one for the circuit and one for the cooker and I've no idea which one to pull. One is on the far left, the other is in the middle, so from left to right I have red, red, white. Switching the entire mains off is a nightmare as I have 3 to 4 hours work resetting my computers and other various electrical devices. Thanks, Pete
