Reckon then that Caroline has been flirting with the bushes in your local lanes That's a possibility too. Our lane is grossly overgrown with Japanese knot weed which is sticking out so far that the lane is less than a cars width opposite our house. It's not on my land and the council won't cut it at this time of year as it'll spread like wildfire. As you can see the water board are also hard at work laying in temporary pipe work so there's another possibility of damage from their equipment. Pete

Shotton, commonly known around here as Beirut . She only works down there one morning a week as well. Of course, we can't be exactly sure of where it happened as she parks up in a split council/supermarket car park in Mold for the rest of the working week. Right in the corner of the council part actually but I guess someone could have pushed a trolley down there. Pete

Ricey's verdict, it'll come out . He also thinks it may not have been deliberately keyed for several reasons. Scratch is too light and not in the traditional area associated with keying. Anyway, booked in for repair/correction on Friday. Pete

The ironic thing is that Caroline is a careers advisor and these are just the sort of people she tries to find jobs for . Pete

Some time over the past couple of weeks Caroline's Roadster has been keyed down the passenger side, one of the hazards of working in a war zone I guess. Damage is relatively light compared to some keying jobs I've seen and it's only gone completely through in 2 areas, the front wing and the rear panel, about 6 inches on both Door is keyed along most of it's length but has only gone down through the first layer of paint. I'll get some photos up when the car is clean again. Anyone any idea of the cost ? If it's going to be expensive we'll probably just leave it for now and get it done when we sell up in a couple of years time. Pete
  7. It's an interesting idea but will it lead to more start line accidents and more safety car laps? Pete
  8. I was driving a 1.0 Mini at the time on my way to Monaco. With 3 of us in the car which was loaded beyond belief I didn't really have much choice . Pete
  9. Yes, I have. I was on my way to a National Park in Utah early in the morning when an ambulance flew past me. A few miles further on a car had hit a deer and it had gone straight through the windscreen, absolutely horrific sight and both deer and driver perished. I'm not making this up but I also once saw a donkey get hit by a car containing 4 or 5 nuns directly in front of me , luckily neither the donkey or the nuns were hurt as the impact was at about 20 mph. This was in the middle of France in 1975 and the first and only time I've seen a nun driving a car. Pete Just as well you didn't drive into the back of the nuns car. Try explaining that one on an insurance claim. Jasper Carrot would have loved you though. I was a good way back, say 50 yards, and it all happened in slow motion. I was in a way lucky as the nuns (in a Renault) had only just passed me. Pete
  10. I had a cat run out in front of me from no where. Strangely everything seemed to go in slow motion, and somehow my brain told me not to swerve as my alternatives were to hit an oncoming car or drive straight into a stone wall. I had the family in the car as well, so instincts said to hit the anchors as hard as possible but not swerve. I was on a road I drove on every day, so local knowledge may have helped, plus a bit of experience from having been driving for nearly 40 years. Does show you need to be concentrating at all times, and expect the unexpected. Yes, Avoiding something needn't involve swerving, more often than not just braking will do the trick, or even doing nothing at all. I've hit 2 cats in my time, one at night and just didn't get the time to react in either case sadly. Pete

  12. Yes, ours had 7k on the clock when we bought it and had that rattle. Pete
  13. Correct except the wheels never became standard on the GT Maybe that was in the US then. Sure it happened somewhere? Ireland I think. Pete
  14. It's an automatic reaction to avoid something animate or inanimate that comes suddenly into your line of vision. Very few people will the reactions needed to sum up what the danger is and take the appropriate action. Pete

Lovely, doesn't need lowering or spacers either . Pete
  17. New regulation for 2015. After a safety car period the cars will be stopped on the grid for a standing restart . Pete
  18. I just stick everything on the passenger seat or in the passenger footwell. Pete
  19. Mediocre again. At least we can move on and watch some of the great football we've had so far . I just feel a bit sorry for all those fans who've wasted their money again. Pete
  20. I have an 80-90% success rate in getting a wave/flash/beep. As far as being spotted, well I spotted a local member and he acknowledged my "spotted" message here on the forum. Other than that a big fat Zero. I've had my Zed for 7 and a half years and Caroline has had hers for 4 years and not a single spotted post. I've been on the forum for 4 years and being the anorak I am actually went through all the spotted posts on the forum as far back as Feb 2007 when I bought the car . The Invisible man, that's me . Pete
  21. Driven a few thousand miles in both, HR more responsive, smoother...no contest really. Pete
  22. They closed down the Newport, South Wales office so people have to travel up to Liverpool now. Pete
  23. You can indeed go to the passport office but I believe you have to have an appointment these days and be prepared for a long wait. Pete
