I'm thinking that if there's a no vote then it'll be a good while before The Scots get another one but yes, it won't go away. Where does it end though, I already hear of The Western Isles, Orkneys, Shetland wanting a further referendum if there's a Yes vote to become independent or remain part of The U.K, they were once part of Norway I believe . http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/GettingInvolved/Petitions/islandgroups Pete

My dad worked in Aberdeen for a couple of years 1978-1980, he was instrumental in setting up The St. Fergus terminal. He met a lot of anti-English sentiment until he told them he was Welsh (which in theory he was). Everything was sweetness and light after that which I found rather amusing. As I've said before thogh I don't like nationalism it divides people almost as much as religion, just look at the near 50/50 split we have in Scotland right now. Still, this is up to the people of Scotland and in a perverse way it's a no brainer to vote yes, if it goes horribly wrong they can do as they do now, emigrate to England, The States, Canada, etc . Anyway, good luck to them if the "It'll be alright on The Night" party win the day . Pete

Even here though you're not 100% safe, a few years ago the postman reversed into Caroline's daughters MX5 and a loose horse bumped into our MR2. Pete

It's great not to have any neighbours . . Pete

Lovely, quite similar to the grey cat I have. People ask if he's a pedigree but no, he's just a moggie although it did take us ages to find him Here's a couple of our 3rd Bengal. Although I saw both his parents who were full bengals he does appear to be a cross but I wouldn't change her for the world now. Pete

I bet they've mixed the photos up and that shot of of the centre console is actually from another Zed, they have several in stock. Pete

BBC are reporting that Nico Rosberg has been disciplined by Mercedes, awaiting further news. Pete

A rear facing seat shouldn't really be used in any circumstances in a Zed or for that matter any 2 seater or in the front of a 4 seater. As far as front facing seats go the child has to weigh somewhere around 9-13kgs before they can go into one of these. I looked into this when my step daughter had her first baby 4 years ago and decided that I wouldn't feel that she was safe until she was at least 3 years old. My own daughter (now 25) didn't get to sit in the front of my car till she was 6 or 7 at the insistence of her mother Congrats BTW, like you I thought it'd never happen and became a first (and only) time father at 40. Yes, interesting history to this. When the tax bands were announced all cars in that emission band were due to pay the higher rate regardless of date of manufacture. However, under pressure from various motoring organisations it was felt that this was unfair to current owners so the tax was lowered to half of the new rate. This was supposed to be a temporary thing and as far as I'm aware isn't set in stone, although the number of cars in this bracket will be quite low and going down each and every year so I don't think it'll change now. Same here, quite a few of them I was glad to see the back of TBH. Pete

Actually it's about a third at 30 guns per 100 people, very similar to countries like France, Sweden, Austria but I do take your point. It's difficult to know why America has such a high death rate compared with Canada. Some factors might be the racial make up of America and the standard of the mass immigrants early in the 20th century . Just looked up some figures and 2-3 people are shot dead in America by the police every day, in The U.K it's about 1 a year (the last one being in 2012), an average of 30 policemen are shot dead each year in The States compared with just 5 here since 2000. It's just part of American culture, it doesn't seem to bother them that close to 10,000 people a year are victims. I'm sure that if 10k people a year died in plane or train crashes then they'd do something about it and to quote the latest catchphrase "lessons would be learned" but the American gun lobby is extremely powerful and 10's of thousands of workers are involved in the industry so nothing will change. I like America and Americans in general are nice people but they are definitely an odd lot. Pete

I'll probably get shouted down but I would change The Zed Legend Milestone from 5k to 10k and introduce a further Milestone at 25k Pete -
I drive both on a regular basis, 3 or 4 times a week. HR is definitely better, it seems much smoother than the DE especially if you push it a bit. DE works fine for me though. Pete

Either that or an avoidable collision, hard to say really but personally I'd give Rosberg the benefit of the doubt. Stupid move to pull on your team mate on Lap 2 though, could have easily ripped more of his wing off. Anyway, even if the stewards look into it I doubt it'll be more than a grid penalty or they could add 20 seconds to his time as they did today with Magnusson. Pete

I've been to look at this car for another member on here. He didn't buy it because he said it was "too noisy" . It's a decent car, no dints as far as I could see just an above average number of stonechips on the front bumper and bonnet, a good buy at the price. Pete

That's the way it is with pets, you just have to accept that unless you get something like a parrot their lives are relatively short. Doesn't make it any easier but at least I know they had good lives. With cats in general they have very few health issues until they hit 14 or so, 2 of the 3 cats that died recently hadn't visited a vet since they were neutered back in 2000. Sooty had been poorly for 18 months and eventually succumbed to a liver condition. One of our cats lived to 20 and never visited the vet, other than to be vaccinated and neutered when she was one.
