Dublin or Newcastle. Pete

Seems a shame to throw it away. Maybe someone could come up with a club logo that'd fit in there . Pete

Terrible news. He's quite tall for an F1 driver, 5'11" or so and would have been killed instantly in a car from the 90's where the driver sat higher up in the cockpit. Since then the cars have become much safer and we've seen drivers walk away from some horrendous crashes, Kubica's crash in Canada for example. Under the current regulations I don't see what else could have been done but it may be time to look at the rules for when a crane/ recovery truck is on track during a race. I know I don't want to see F1 become like Indycar with a safety car thrown out on even the slightest incident but the FIA do need to take a long hard look to prevent this from happening again. Pete

Yes, the test is so brief that and at such a low speed that damage is highly unlikely and the Tapley can't identify individual brake problems. Mine's been on the rollers for the last 6 MOT's and Caroline's Zed for the last 4. Pete

Yeah, the guy was a better driver than his record suggested. 208 GP's without a single win doesn't really do his talent justice. He was one of 4 drivers who led in the last 2 laps of the 1982 Monaco GP only to run out of fuel just before the tunnel on the last lap, was also at the time (1982) the youngest driver to take a pole position. Current conditions are bad, like really bad. Rain is coming through in heavy bands and I've just seen a picture of the Caterham pit garage with a river running past it Pete

3 and a half inches of rain forecast for race day with a 99% chance of continuous rain during the race. There's almost no possibility of the race being brought forward due to TV coverage schedules, so we'll either get a procession behind the safety car or no race at all. Pete

Saw my first two in very similar circumstances, both in a country lane at night. There's lots of them around here, I know that from local road kills, it's just that you never get to see them. There must be plenty of foxes too, before we went onto recycling and got a sturdy wheelie bin we would often wake up to find our litter scattered all over the garden, bin bags ripped to pieces. Sightings of Foxes around here are incredibly rare though, I've maybe seen 5 or 6 in 35 years, I would often see that number in one night at the factory I worked in on The Wirral. Think that one I saw this morning was devouring a rabbit and just a few yards away there's the remains of a wood pigeon. Pete

This morning. First time I've seen one in daylight in our garden. Pete

Wonder how long it'll be before these are fitted as standard to new cars ? Pete

Might measure G Force on cornering too. To be really smart though it would have to have a built in GPS, one that recognises speed limits amongst other things. Pete

They look like "Fools Funnel" to me. Will make you fairly ill and can be fatal in some cases. Wild edible mushrooms usually grow in uncultivated pasture land and not in gardens, although it is possible for them to grow there if conditions are right. I used to go mushrooming with my parents and left anything that wasn't the classic mushroom shape alone. Pete

Some research will tell you that young males are more likely to have recordable accidents. I dug up some figures that show young males are twice as likely to be killed by drink driving, 15 times as likely to be killed by aggresive driving, etc. The only causes of fatal accidents that are higher in young females are distractions like mobile phones, etc. I also found this. Young men are involved in more accidents than young women, partly because young men do more driving than young women. Young men’s attitude to driving and a propensity to take more risks remains a major problem. Accidents and road types On rural (non built-up) roads: young male and female drivers are killed or seriously injured in large numbers relative to other age groups one in four male drivers killed or seriously injured is under 25 about twice as many young men under 25 years are killed or seriously injured than young women of the same age the number of driver casualties declines sharply after the age of 25 Pete

That's a limited edition tax disc Pete
-
If you do get one, keep it, could be worth a bob or two as it'll be one of the last. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-2736865/Tax-discs-abolished-October-old-ones-worth-bob-two.html Pete

I left mine on till the official removal date, today, as I once got fined a fiver for failing to display it, that was in 1969 though Pete

To remove the now redundant tax disc? Pete

i knew about the Jag but if thats true about the AMG thats unreal. May well not be true, I'm seeing several different stories. The car was hired for the day. The car was leased or the car belonged to daddy....Eye witnesses reported that the first thing the driver did was remove the number plates (a bit too late really). Damage was fairly severe, some Mercs drop their engines in a front end crash so it doesn't penetrate the cockpit and it looks like all the air bags went off too.. Pete
-
Apparently The AMG had gone in to be valeted and was being driven without the permission of the owner. The Jag was daddy's car. Pete
-
Hopefully the police and county council will see this video and take action, I'm sure the number plates are visible. Makes me angry to see idiotic, immature driving like this. Pete

Very nice, love the colour. I had a quick spin in one about 9 years ago, super smooth engine the only thing I could fault was it was a bit too cosy/cramped for me. Pete
