  1. It's a shame its been allowed to get into that state. It's in a few acres of land and backs onto a stream, with a wood with several acres of farmland on either side of the house. Over the years I've had several people call in here enquiring if I knew who owned it and would they sell it. Those questions stopped about 10 years ago when the roof began to fall off . The house is in a green barrier area and the land alone would be worth a fair bit by now. It would be possible to get planning permission for complete renovation but I reckon you'd need fairly deep pockets...you'd have to rebuild the road to get access for a start. As I had my granddaughter with me I didn't do too much digging around but as you can see from the photos there has been some recent tree surgery with several piles of wood, logs and branches in fairly neat piles in the "garden". There's also a new fence gone up, partially surrounding the house since I last visited in December 2013 and most of the farming equipment (rusty and antique as it was) seems to have vanished. Pete

    HR bonnet

I also got mine from Alex and it arrived safely. It came in primer I believe, I had it delivered directly to the body shop for spraying/fitting. One thing to note is that you will need to remove all the grommets, rubber seals etc from your old bonnet as these aren't provided. Pete
  3. I wandered over to the abandoned house today and took a few photos. This house was abandoned in 1974 and shows what 40 years of British weather can do. There is no longer road access to this house and its actually difficult to see where the road was. There was an electrical supply and a phone line but these have been removed about 10 years ago. While there are signs of human visitation most of the damage is weather related. I do know something about why the house has been left to fall apart, in fact, the owners, twin brothers were in my class at school but I won't go into details. Here's the pics. Recent Activity Pete
  4. I'm still on a paper license too. Last time I renewed it, mid 70's I guess, it lasted until you reached 70 and when I moved here in 1978 there were no such things as photo licenses. Sadly, I'll have to renew it in 4 or so years time and although it says its free when you reach 70 it doesn't say anything about changing your paper license. Pete
  5. Well, Yes. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/dec/02/uk-driving-law-versus-us Pete
  6. Good price. As long as you don't have a JDM then they'll fit just fine. If you do have a JDM then the plug will need to be modified slighty and also take care that you don't snap the plastic covers off when you lift them up. Pete
  7. Mine lasted just 21k but then again I would imagine that the age of the car is a factor too, mines a 2006 car. Pete
  8. I live in Abergele but work on Deeside industrial so I'm up and down the A55 daily, will have to keep an eye out for you! Then you'll pass within 50 yards of my house everyday! I'm about half a mile west of the A55 service area, the one with The Holiday Inn and The Shell garage. You won't see my house though, it's tucked away quite nicely Pete
  9. I live somewhere between Buckley and Northop Hall, I'm a bit off the beaten track really, whereabouts are you? Pete
  10. So no point living in Buckley then Free parking in Buckley though . Anyway, I almost forgot, Mold has a whole host of charity shops, an Argos, A B&M , Boots, WH Smith, a couple of chippies, a Subway etc. It's a market town too, they close off the high street every Wednesday and Saturday and still have half day closing every Thursday!! Pete
  11. Welcome along, reckon you must be close to me Pete
  12. Yes, Mold has a whole load of estate agents, most of them in one street. I don't know what you mean by small but Mold's population is around 10,000. It also has an Aldi, Lidl, a 24 hour Tesco, an Iceland, a large Co-op and a farmland shop. There's also a McDonalds and no less than 3 24 hour petrol stations, Buckley on the other hand just 3 miles from Mold with a population of 18,000 has naff all. Pete
  13. Both of ours do this. The 313 is noisier than the 276 by some margin...both have around 20k on the clock. Pete
  14. Of course, the Radio Caroline that I listened to was different to the one down south. Radio Caroline North was anchored somewhere in The Irish Sea and covered a completely different area mainly North West England, North Wales and possibly Southern Scotland. It was almost impossible to pick up Caroline South, Radio London, Radio City, Radio Atlanta or 270 up here on a transistor radio in the day time although it did improve after dark for some obscure technical reason, which I forget now . I was able to get decent reception of the southern channels by cunningly running a coaxial cable to the TV aerial from my parents stereogram which were quite popular in the 60's Pete
  15. The lack of house dust can possibly be down to the absence of dust mites that convert skin flakes to dust,I was thinking more along the lines of decay caused by moths and other insects Pete
  16. I downloaded a couple of the photos and he seems to have removed everything except for the copyright. However, after reading some comments on a website there are some who think there's something up and the photos or at least some of them have been staged. For example the jacket hanging up looks brand new, I would have expected it to have dropped apart after 50 years. Or it is 50 years, there looks to have been some work done recently on the corner of the roof and that transistor ITT Radio is from the early 70's. The roof itself looks to be in incredible condition considering this house will be exposed to some terrible weather conditions being near the top of a mountain. There's a remote abandoned farm near here, it was abandoned in 1974, the roof collapsed around 15 years ago, there are trees growing inside the house and only the fact that the stone walls are several feet thick means that it actually looks like a farm house. Its only in the last 12 months that it was struck off the council tax register. Must get some photos, there's some really interesting stuff there!! Pete
  17. Yes, never use them either for petrol or food but I sure make use of their toilets. Pete
  18. 50181......That was my Caroline club number when I was at School in 1964/65. I even had a request played for me and can remember what it was (but I'm not saying ) Pete
  19. Maybe, but what is termed as Mid Wales covers around 3-4,000 square miles and they haven't revealed the location. Jeez, even giving my address and postcode to Courier companies, not to mention several members on here they've found it pretty difficult to find me . Pete
  20. Interesting story and some great pics have emerged recently about an abandoned farm house in Mid Wales that has been empty for at least 50 years and possibly longer. It's so remote that it hasn't been vandalised and would possibly be habitable with a good clean up and a few essential repairs as the roof and windows look to be in reasonable shape. It's not currently known who actually owns the property but photographs found inside suggest it was owned by an elderly couple who had no children to pass the house on to. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2947363/Frozen-time-Inside-abandoned-Welsh-farmhouse-decades-old-photographs-collection-pocket-watches-coat-left-hanging-up.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-mid-wales-31410140 Pete
  21. One thing not mentioned is under the flags section. You can have a fairly wide choice of which (if any) flag you wish to display but these must be embossed onto the plate when manufactured, a stick on flag is not allowed or any other stickers for that matter. Pete
  22. They were only 22k in Japan when new. The one to have is The 380RS-C, they were around $200k. Anyway, only one 380RS (that I know of) was imported into the U.K and that was back in the period 2007-2009 Pete
  23. Yeah, engines and serviceable parts are good for high mileage, Like any 11 year old car with that sort of mileage things can go wrong though and I've seen far too many people on here recently buy 350's because they're cheap and only keeping them a few months because of the running costs. Pete

    my NANKANG's

That's one of the probems, they never seem to wear out My rear Bridgestones were down to the legal limit in not much over 9k while the Nankangs are only half worn (if that) after 11k . Must be made of super hard rubber. Pete
  25. Probably fetch at least that here TBH, aren't there only 2 genuine Nismo's in the U.K? Pete
