A little yellow light between the two courtesy lights
JetSet replied to zebedy's topic in 350Z Technical
You have a roadster I presume? Don't know what its there for, it's very dim and doesn't seem to serve any purpose that I can see. One wild guess is that it tells you your roof is locked into position correctly . Pete -
Mate of mine got a congestion ticket in London when he'd never been to London in his car. Photograph showed it was a completely different car but it took months to sort it out. Pete

In the 70's there were three shops on the quite unique rows in Chester all in Eastgate Street, they were Blacks, Whites and Browns. Browns is still there but is now called Debenhams (but still known to locals as Browns), The other 2 have relocated within Chester. Pete

Then you could have picked up a puncture during your journey, once the pressure drops below 20 psi then overheating is rapid. Was there a burning rubber smell? Pete

Nevermind, there's a total eclipse crossing from west to east in the northern United States in August 2017, the first time this has happened since 1918. Some very fortunate people in a small area of Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky will also get to see the April 2024 total eclipse as well as the 2017 one. The next one after that is in 2099. http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/overlap.htm Pete

Jensen never recovered from the disaster that was the Healey. Poor quality build, paper thin metal and legendary unreliability. Had to sell the last few hundred at a loss apparently. Pete

That was my first thought, could have been a slow puncture or under inflated for quite a while. The other possibility is that its been repaired at some time and the tyre fitter hasn't noticed the inner damage. Pete

Many of the forums long standing members have sold up since the last Wales meet and I think this has had a knock on effect among the regulars. Pete

There used to be a vet on Deeside called G.N.Ash. Just down the road from the vets there was a Chinese Restaurant called "Hung Phat". Never really fancied eating in there somehow . Pete

MOT Passed. - Didn't expect these advisories though

Someone else posted a photo with advisories for 002 and 003 a while ago...same garage maybe? Pete -
Should be immediate but I once insured my Clio at a brokers up the road and 15 minutes later when I got home The DVLA site wouldn't allow me to tax it. A couple of hours later when I tried again it was O.K. Pete

That highlights part of the problem, many of these calls come from outside The U.K and in fact outside The E.U. Can't do anything about these I don't think. Of course, one of these will stop them dead, best £50 I ever spent. http://www.callblocker.co.uk/ Pete

Weather permitting this will be our last chance to see an eclipse of this magnitude in our lifetime. The further North you live the better the eclipse will be but it'll still be pretty spectacular even along the south coast. For those living in London some 85% of the suns surface will be covered, Liverpool 90%, Inverness 95%. Starts around 8:15 am Pete

There was a company that specialized in converting Jap SatNavs but the cost was staggering, their website has now vanished. The unit is hard wired in Japanese and needs to be reprogrammed and TBH it's just not worth the effort. There's also the fact that your 2004 will have a CD player and U.K CD discs are extremely rare and in case haven't been updated since 2005. Pete

Mainly looking forwards to spring, my favorite time of year. Signs of it are already apparent with catkins hanging off some of the trees and the daffs coming out in our garden. Had been hoping to get to The States in the summer but Caroline just can't face up to the 11 hour flight to Denver again. Pete

Nope, I don't have any problems with stone chips. The thing is that the vast majority of chips are caused by driving too close to the vehicle in front, sadly most people don't even realize they're doing it. Of course this isn't foolproof as you can get chips from passing cars or even cars coming the other way, nothing you can do about that. I look at it this way though, if you can read the number plate of the car in front at 70 then you're far too close. I know some people will disagree but it's worked for me so far. It's especially important to keep your distance when the gritter has been out . Pete

There's many factors at play here. For a start Crows and Magpies have few if any predators. They are too big for cats, owls, other birds of prey and too smart for foxes and dogs. They have been known to force buzzards to the ground then set upon them in fact hardly a day goes by without us seeing an aerial battle between Buzzards and Crows. They are long lived birds too and can live as long as 20 years in the wild and 40 in captivity. Then there's our wasteful lifestyle which encourages Crows, Magpies and certain types of Gulls to live close to us. In the middle ages Magpies were fairly rare and mainly confined to the countryside. Today, they're a common site in towns, back gardens, in fact anywhere where people live. Our lifestyle has also seen a massive decline in songbirds for example Thrushes were once everyday visitors to our garden now we're lucky to see 3 or 4 a year, same goes for Tree Sparrows which is more like one visit every 4 years and I haven't seen a single starling here since 1981. Many small birds also fall victim to Crows, Magpies and to a lesser extent Jays. Raven numbers are also increasing quite rapidly and although like Rooks we don't see them around here they could become an even bigger menace, I mean these things are massive . If we are to restrict them to where they belong then we need to change our lifestyle otherwise their numbers will continue to increase causing us more problems. At the end of the day though, yeah, they're a menace but I'd rather have a few Crows hanging around than a bunch of hoodies. Pete

You could always give him your cat on a loaner to sort them out? Haha My fat, lazy, soft coward of a cat would be no match for a clever crow. I've never known any of our cats tackle a Crow or a Magpie/Jay/Jackdaw for that matter. Cats have an excellent sense of what is and what isn't prey and they will happily hunt down a wood pigeon which is somewhat larger than a Jay or a Jackdaw (One of them caught a fully grown male Pheasant a few years ago ) Anyway, all birds, their nests and eggs are protected under wildlife laws but certain species can be culled with a license if they are causing a threat to health. Generally speaking this would mainly be farmers, local authorities or pest control officers. Pete

GT4 will in theory at least be faster than a facelift 296 bhp Zed as the kerb weight is 75kgs lighter. +1 Well, perhaps I should say that the yellow ones will fetch a larger premium. Pete
