This from the newspaper that every year says we're going to have the coldest winter for 100 years . Pete but to be honest, Putin destroying them bast*rds is more believable than coldest winter since dinosaurs era lol Russians will only act in their own interests. Supporting Assad is in their interest. They've been running out of allies since the cold war ended, countries that used to be their friends have shifted allegiance to the west. Outside of the former Soviet states that are adjacent to them they've only got a few banana republics and Venezuela, Cuba, Iran as allies. Soviet-Sino relations are not that great either. If the downed Russian airline proves to be I.S then they may take action but just like the Americans after Vietnam they may be unwilling to put boots on the ground after they lost 10's of thousands of soldiers in Afghanistan in the 80's. We'll see. Pete

Many complaints about the hazard warning lights too, I've never knocked them on while in motion but have a few times while getting out. This was addressed in the facelift by moving the switch forward. Pete

I guess a lot depends on your driving position and your physique. The only thing that happens to me is that I frequently knock the wiper switch on when getting in. Pete

I've been on AOL for many years and one of the things is that you can add words to the reject list. If you put one of those words in the message then it'll get rejected by AOL and won't be delivered. Not foolproof by any means, some E-Mails still get through, worth sending a blank message and if that fails the E-Mail address has been removed or its a technical problem over at AOL. Pete

I don't have one but my step daughter does, 50" or so and pretty cool. Can't justify getting one just yet though, I'll wait until my present TV gives up the ghost. Pete

On the day before Wales 2013 I filled mine to the brim with £117 worth. The low level warning light was on but tank wasn't quite empty. Pete

The favorite place on that road is where you come on to the dual carriageway just as you leave Gwersyllt where the limit drops to 30 for a few hundred yards as it crosses over a railway bridge. Many years ago that bridge was straightened out, it used to be quite dangerous, but the old speed limit was maintained. The few houses there are are set back a good 50 yards with their own road in front of them and that's where the mobile camera hides away. Pete

There was systematic doping in The States that lasted for 20 odd years. It wasn't state sponsored but involved training groups who were supplied by a company in San Francisco. It mainly involved sprinters and wasn't just confined to U.S athletes, Dwayne Chambers got caught because he trained with one of the sprinters groups in The U.S. It wasn't just in Athletics either, American Football, Baseball and Cycling have all had major drugs scandals. I'm sure that there are many U.K athletes across different sports who have used PED's at one time or another but its more of an individual thing over here. When people question Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, Paula Radcliffe, Mo Farrah and even Seb Coe then you get to see that the general public has become very cynical about the state of sport today. Not only that but when you have The IOC and FIFA to name but 2 of the world governing bodies clearly accepting bribes to host their events then you wonder if they'll ever sort things out. Pete

Yes, 309 bhp but keep in mind that's at 6,800 rpm, in mid range 2,500 to 4,500 revs where most of us spend 95% of our time you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 276 and a 309 other.than the engine is a bit smoother. Pete

The tango Zed would be Jay.1r's, he works in Flint and lives in Wrexham so that would be one of his routes home. BTW, they had a mobile speed camera on the dual carriageway near to the haunted house in Pontblyddyn a week last Sunday. Good job I was paying attention as they've knocked the speed limit down to 50 since I last ventured that way (or its the first time I've noticed) Pete

This is just one of the reasons why I won't be voting labour next year at the assembly elections. What a bunch of wallies. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/using-e-cigarette-working-home-10429600 Pete

Welcome to the forum Zmanalex can supply you with most parts either new or used, he's a trader on this forum. The little shelf is there to hide anything you have in the boot. It's known as the horizontal tonneau cover. It's always worth looking in The Zeds for sale on this forum, the vast majority of them have been pampered to death Pete

Probably, there's been at least 2 scams on E-Bay involving Zeds in the last few weeks. Pete

Not just confined to cheating, how many countries import athletes from Kenya or Ethiopia for example? While its true that here in The U.K we also import athletes, like Tiffany Porter and Chris Froome and even Bradley Wiggins who was born in Belgium and had an Australian father. Of course all of these Athletes have at least one U.K born parent. To import athletes who have absolutely no connection and pay them a kings ransom like Qatar, Bahrain and Turkey just to push them up the medal table is morally wrong and The IAAF should stamp it out or introduce a 7 year residence rule. Pete

Not the government, that's true but he tested positive more than once and it was covered up by USADA , the American drug testing agency. Not just him either, several high profile athletes also tested positive, Marion Jones being one of them although she was eventually brought down. The sad part about the whole thing is that the Eastern Block mentality still exists and The Russians don't think they're doing anything wrong. By trying to promote their country through sport they're doing the image of Russia massive damage. Pete

I was hoping that when The Soviet Union collapsed that they would enter the family of nations but sadly nothing has really changed. Outside of Africa it's the most corrupt country in the world, a country that sponsors murder and jails people for their sexuality and their political views. It's been fairly obvious for decades that The Russians have been serial cheaters in most sports but Athletics is their main focus for cheating. It's something that is still a major problem for countries that were once part of the Soviet Union too, like Belarus, Ukraine. Kazakhstan and the other smaller "Stans". Back in the 70's and 80's it was also endemic in countries in The Soviet sphere, East Germany was the main culprit but Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Poland all had state sponsored cheating. Just look at the women's world records in Athletics, nearly all of them were set in the 1980's and have never been approached since. Despite documented proof when East Germany collapsed the IAAF have consistently refused to delete these records. Not just in Athletics either, swimming, rowing, weightlifting have all been tainted by Russian cheating, I can even remember one Russian fencer who rigged up a device to his foil to register none existant hits in the Olympics. The only sport they have failed in is football, a sport in which you actually need some talent. Of course, every country in the world has cheats, In The U.S.A for example it's well known that sprinters have been cheating for years, Carl Lewis, yes he's a cheater who won 4 Olympic titles on the run. In Kenya, Jamaica, Turkey, Italy and a few other countries cheating is widespread but Russia takes it to a completely different level. What the outcome will be is anyone's guess but The IAAF should stick to its guns, either accept there's a problem and fix it or face becoming the pariahs of international sport. The report wasn't complete, 2 sections are under investigation by Interpol and I'm sure they'll turn up more corruption and bribery. Claiming its all a Western plot, their usual mantra just isn't going to work this time and the sooner they man up to it the better. Pete

Yes, All fuels, even lowly 95 octane ***should*** contain engine cleaning additives these days, so in theory you should never get the tarnish that built up on carbs and fuel injection systems back in the day. 97/98 octane fuel just contains more RON booster (Raw Gasoline has a RON in the 85 range) ***should***, I worked for Shell in the late 60's long before the rise of supermarket petrol so I don't know what, if any, additive package they add,as they usually source their fuel on the spot market . 06 nicer interior and more powerful engine worth it?
JetSet replied to Luke350's topic in 350Z General
Here are 3 possible reasons gleaned from The U.S site none of which are official. 1 Extra Soundproofing (can't see that adding much) 2 More strengthening around the doors and the chassis itself (anyone who reads this forum will know that in The States the Zed is considered the most dangerous car on the road) 3 Use of heavier and therefore cheaper materials to save money and keep the car at 25k$ in The States. Just rumours I've picked up on. Pete -

It's one of the "must have" mods, go to a meet and you'll see a lot of DE's with bulge bonnets (as well as rear LED's) Pete -
06 nicer interior and more powerful engine worth it?
JetSet replied to Luke350's topic in 350Z General
That's a very good question. On the face of it, I wouldn't have thought that the visible part of the facelift couldn't have added more than a few kg's. Rays came as standard from 06 onwards so maybe a few kilos there? So you have to presume that they did a lot of undocumented changes such as beefing up the chassis. The HR is pretty much the same weight as the 06 facelift BTW. I've got the weights from various sources and presume they are correct. So, it's a bit of a mystery. Pete -
06 nicer interior and more powerful engine worth it?
JetSet replied to Luke350's topic in 350Z General
The best bits about the facelift models are the rear LED's and the bi-xenon headlights. You can of course fit the LED's to an early DE, 5 minute job and indeed the bi-xenons will also fit but that's a pretty expensive job. The interior is better but still leaves it someway short of the competition. The extra 20 bhp is mostly soaked up by the extra weight of the facelift, a fairly significant 70kg's. Pete -

Some years ago there was a significant price premium for a facelift 350Z but nowadays there's not that much in it. Pete
