  1. Several have fitted facelift interiors into prefacelift Zeds. I don't know the ins and outs of it but Lee sold at least 2 facelift kits, he'd be the best person to discuss it with, if you can get hold of him . His forum name is R35Lee. Pete
  2. That's due to lack of use Pete ! Haha. I'm still on my original battery of 10 years ! Quite true, lack of use will shorten the life of the battery. 2009, Original Battery Failed 2014 Replacement Battery Failed. The original battery fail can be put down to weeks of the car standing around and the fact that it stood in a car showroom for 13 months before I bought it. I presume that it wasn't started in the showroom and that people were getting in and out of it, switching things on and off... Pete
  3. I've bought 2 from Alex in the last 12 months, both my Zed and Caroline's have needed the drivers side arm to be replaced. From Alex..... 1 x new O/S/F (driver's side) compression rod: £125.00 1 x courier shipping with tracking and insurance: £12.50 So total of £137.50 please if Bank Transfer: Pete
  4. Although I've heard of batteries on the Zed lasting for 8,9 and even 10 years they usually expire after 3-4 years.....I'm on my 3rd in 9 years. Pete
  5. £125 per arm plus £12.50 postage from Alex, genuine OEM. Pete
  6. Indeed but early GT roadsters only had three buttons, the extra buttons were added around 2006. Pete
  7. Only difference I can think of would be in the fascia of a facelift with a factory satnav fitted. Pete
  8. He apparently turned down a knighthood in 2003. Pete
  9. Just read that some cars have a chip on the cluster, so maybe not as straightforward as I first thought. If it is on the cluster then it may be possible to simply remove/replace it unless of course it's soldered on. Pete
  10. Not a great fan, only have the one L.P of his "Station to Station", liked some of his earlier stuff though. A sad loss nonetheless, RIP David Bowie. Pete
  11. On the ECU, can be reflashed with the right software/hardware though. Its not like the old days when you could remove the speedo and stick a high speed drill in it Pete
  12. Yes, there's less distance and therefore less resistance for the air to travel. In NASCAR they use specially ventilated cans to dispense 12 gallons (U.S Gallons) in 6.5 seconds. Cost $25k to buy 4 of these cans . Pete
  13. No steering wheel controls so presumably no cruise control, other than that looks a very similar spec. Pete
  14. We had no problems with the insurance when our non standard and non declared front bumper got wiped out. not once, but twice. Was a long time ago though Pete
  15. Yeah, ours went in the same place. Caroline bought some interior patches and some roof sealant off EBay, She then ahem, stitched the roof back together . Surprisingly it worked really well, roof goes up and down O.K without the sealant or patches coming off and doesn't leak anymore. Clearly it'll need a new roof before we sell it though . Pete
  16. Hmm, I had a test drive in a second hand 1983 model 944 (non turbo) back in 1985. Couldn't afford it but persuaded Stormont that I was serious . Didn't get much chance to put it through its paces, Stormont was in Bootle, but didn't feel any better than the Capri 2.8i I had at that time. Went for another brand new Capri 2.8i in the end, less than half the price and probably worth as much as an N/A 944 these days. Pete
  17. Of course, all the more reason to stick to the speed limits and drive sensibly. Anyway, only fitted mine this week and already recorded my first accident (car pulls out in front of boy racer going too fast in 30 limit, Both to blame, no injuries so didn't get involved). I witnessed a really nasty and spectacular accident last summer and as the car directly behind the collision between an HGV and a car was interviewed by the police, would have been great if I'd had it fitted then. Pete
  18. An 06 Black Zed, possibly belonging to a dormant member on here and 2 on private plates, one was BIG XXX, a ginger with a lady driver, the other a Blade Silver possibly B15 XXX. All were in various places in Queensferry 2.00 o'clockish. Pete
  19. Yes, its a can of worms, it was a factory fitted option on the Zed, so someone buying a Zed secondhand with them fitted would have no idea they weren't standard as they are on many cars like for example The Z4. Pete
  20. GPS not only records your co-ordinates but your speed too, could be important in case of an accident. Pete
  21. More aerodynamic too, double win Pete
  22. 2 words: leaf springs never been a huge fan of the american muscle stuff. I can appreciate it but it's just too...American. and who wants that?! Hideous.....An extreme example of American excess, but strangely I quite like it Pete
  23. Like black, they need a lot of work to keep them looking good. There was a red import around here for several years and the paint looked really dull, reminded me of a 10 year old car that you'd see in Arizona. Having said that I've seen a few good ones. Rosso Red is a much more vibrant red but these are very rare. Pete
