  1. Yeah, but they're great for driving round town and giving your kids a lift to school (isn't that what they're for) Pete
  2. Welcome . Nurrish SatNav is Pete
  3. Here's my yellow one. Rather faded with age, a bit like me . Very basic, didn't even have wing mirrors! Pete
  4. I had one of the Mk 2 Cherrys..in fact I had 2 of them! The first one was a Yellow base model S reg, not a lot different to your blue one, more of a facelift than a new model really. Did 25k in it including a trip to Austria. So much more reliable than the British Leyland junk I'd had before. Looking at the photos I'd forgotten just how long the gear lever was, almost as long as a minis Pete
  5. I have Renault Clio, to run around in. O.K, I admit I paid over £500 for it but that was 4 years ago. Apart from one of the rear springs breaking, common problem, it's just been a couple of tyres and a battery. I've been to Cardiff and back at least 10 times and it hasn't missed a beat. They do hold their value pretty well but I've seen a few older ones going quite cheap. Pete
  6. http://uk.autoblog.com/2010/10/27/speed ... driving%2F Pete
  7. I've not knocked mine on in almost 4 years, I reckon its all to do with driving style. I like to drive in the 10 to 2 position so my elbow is always well away from the switches. Condensation isn't a problem for me but then again I NEVER use the A/C, opening the window does the trick for me . Pete
  8. O.K, Cheers. Guess it was 4 or 5C yesterday morning so that would be it. Pete
  9. Good idea . Some of the forums I frequent have a members pictures thread where you can post a current pic of yourself, how about one of those here? Pete
  10. Had a bit of trouble getting the roof down on Caroline's roadster yesterday. Kind of Stuck and took several attempts to get it down, although it went back up no problem. Seemed a little jerky too. Is there a minimum operating temperature? it was rather cold yesterday. Does it need any maintenance at all? Thanks, Pete
  11. Dealers will give you 7 days free with Aviva so they can tax it without a cover note. Pete
  12. Yep its a Mk1 exact same colour scheme as this one stew Paul Mate of mine had one of these, guess it must have been 1969 or so. Looked the part but I think he spent every weekend fixing the things that had gone wrong in the week. Pete
  13. I was actually thinking of this one. Pete
  14. Can't you transfer your NCB to the Zed? Pete
  15. +10000000000000000000000 Looks like a Cortina on Steroids Boring . The Lambo is nice though Pete
  16. Absolutely gorgeous . Wonder why Audi are advertising them on TV when only limited numbers are available? Pete
  17. Before my Zed I had a 2003 Celica T-Sport from new, did 17k miles in it. They are more refined and smoother than a Zed, something I noticed straight away and the gear box is one of the best on the market for a car of that type. There's no doubt that the Zed's gearchange is not as good, 1st to 2nd is crunchy but the rest of the changes are reasonable. The ride is rougher too and cheapo tyres won't help either. 47k isn't a lot of miles for a Zed, but it depends how it's been driven. You should look out for one of the Zed's on sale right here, that way you'll get to know the history of the car and you can guarantee that it will have been looked after a lot better than an anonymous 47k model from a dealer. In any case, try a few more test drives, some of the guys on here drove loads of them before they found the one they wanted. Pete
  18. Yes, Caroline's MR2 after market front spoiler was in a much worse state than that after we had both grounded it several times on speed bumps, big lumps missing and lots of cracks and splits. Got it fixed for £150. Pete
  19. Welcome to the forum . Front bumper is one of the nicest looking ones around, looks great in silver and retains the washers:thumbs: . The only thing I would say is that it looks a bit close to the ground. Pete
  20. A few more feet the other way and it'd been across the road . Pete
  21. Amazingly, saw the same one again, this time it was heading towards Chester along Sealand Road early afternoon, No wave this time though. I'm actually a Merseysider and in any case there's no sheep round here Pete
  22. Interesting read . I did find that as I got older the "itch" took longer to come on. You sound like you'll genuinely miss your Zed, I never really got attached to any one car, despite owning one of them for over 10 years and 120k miles, mostly I was glad to get rid of them . Hope you enjoy your new car.. Pete
