Where would you wedge the crowbar, I have recking bar, I wonder if that would work?. Yep, that'll work if its long enough, from what I remember, you put the spacer on tighten it up by hand then put the bar between 2 opposing studs with one end of the bar on the floor then torque it on (if you've done it right the hub should stay put) and yeah, I got a bit concerned when I saw Chris with this great big bar . Yeah, just fitted those, well actually ChrisS did it for me 20mm's on Standard Rays are a great fit, you just need a long crowbar to hold the front hubs in place or a second person to operate the front brakes. Pete

Think this may well be the last one, a couple of facelifts of the current model maybe. The only possibility is that they might downgrade it, a bit like Toyota did with the MR2 or, a smaller engine with a Turbo?? Pete

Everyone's different. Had mine 3 and half years completely standard, loved it, then I joined up here and went to a meet . Just seeing how other people had modded their Zed's inspired me to get a few fairly basic mods, rear spoiler, spacers, nothing that dramatic. Probably do a few more subtle mods before next years meeting season starts though . I personally won't be touching the engine, just be wasted on me, but plenty here have had their pre 06 engines remapped, etc and have squeezed 30 or so BHP out of them at a reasonable cost. A couple of people here have gone down the nitrous route too for even more power . Anyway, enjoy the car for a day or two first and welcome. Pete

The one I squeezed in was 78 tall, 52 wide and 25 deep. It's the depth that's really important here, mine was tight on the internal crossmember and not only that I don't see the boot shutting either, unless you can compress it down (a lot)... Pete

Not sure if this applies to every airport car park but we had to leave the keys at East Midlands, safety regs I suppose. Pete When I flew from East Midlands I didn't have to leave my keys. I didn't have a zed at the time but I still wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving my keys with anyone. We had an Audi TT when we flew from there. We got seriously delayed by an accident, motor bike racing and a Sunday market (luckily, everyone did) and just went in the first car park we could find. Wasn't happy about handing the keys over but driving round finding an alternative wasn't an option. I noted the place we were parked and the mileage, more concerned about being "doored" though, they pack them in really tight . Pete

I get a taxi these days . Many years ago, early 90's, my mum and dad went to Portugal, left their Ford Fiesta at a private car park at Manchester Airport. When they got back the car had no petrol in it. What's worse is that it had another 200 miles on the clock . From what I remember they eventually got £50 compensation. Pete

O.K, All is now well again. Chris had a word with the boss and he readily agreed to repair the damage and refit the spoiler. This time they've done a very good job, the spoiler now fits perfectly, no more rattling and the small dint and various scratches have now gone . The holes on the spoiler were slightly out so they opened the existing hole about an eight of an inch. The boot they resprayed. I'm very happy now I was going to post a number of pictures but it's blowing a hurricane out there today and in any case there's not much to see. Just grabbed this one snap. Onwards and upwards!! Yeah, I posted it a while ago. Notice the huge gap between the carriageways and lack of barriers, except for the immediate areas around the bridge. Cars tend to get launched or rolled if they go into the medians as they are U shaped, seems to be the way they do things on Interstate highways. Pete

There's another body shop in Buckley, by the station, that deserves a mention. They're called Vincent Biggs and they repaired my step daughters MX5 after the front wing was crunched by a Royal Mail delivery van. Funny thing was, he denied it (at first) despite the fact that I saw it happen and the paint exchange on both vehicles was fairly obvious. Anyway, her insurers told her to take it there so they must be fairly reputable. Did a very good job from what I could see. Pete

Another one is Don Keeleys in Buckley. They've been in business since at least the 60's and have a good reputation. Caroline had her MR2 after market front spoiler repaired there, it looked beyond repair to me, bits missing(big bits!), cracks, splits, real ugly but they did a great job with it. Had a couple of small jobs done there in the 80's myself , door bangs, that sort of thing. Pete

FYI....Caroline just had an E-Mail supposedly from DHL saying that they'd been unable to deliver a parcel and to download an attached form and bring it to the office upon collection. She is expecting a parcel but I advised her to be cautious, good job because when I examined it, the "form" contained a Trojan Horse which Avast blocked. Pete

Interesting. has a minor ring of truth about it, but why would someone steal a car then leave it for 5 years...insurance scam maybe. I'd want to know how did they steal the car, where from, what damage was done, where was it stored. Also, it's had a new speedo I reckon, true mileage could be anything.... Pete
