  1. Mate of mine ran a body shop years ago, common then to completely reshell a car, they just don't bother these days (until they buy them cheap from the insurance company) Pete
  2. Doubt we'll see that again, definitely targeted for a reason. It's too distinctive to drive around in so I'm thinking it'll be broken or stored as a getaway vehicle. It might be an idea for us to check out EBay to see if some of the parts turn up for sale. I presume it was insured?? Pete
  3. You'll pay more for a Panasonic Viera but yeah, they are cheap compared with 5 years ago. I'm guessing that you'll need a new digibox for 3D as well. Pete
  4. Too early to say. They may be hampered by the fact that a lot of people have only just updated to HD and can't justify the cost of yet another update. I will wait until my plasma breaks down, several years away I hope. Early uptakers always pay a premium price and in 5 years time they'll be cheaper and better, Pete
  5. There is a grand total of seven speed cameras in the entire county of Flintshire, plus I should mention the one that is right on the border with Cheshire that can only catch motorists heading in from Flintshire, anyone speeding there is a muppet as its a 60 limit just before a tight bend and a junction. All the cameras are clearly marked and all are positioned in accident black spots. There's only one that I would put into the slightly sneaky category being positioned just after a tight corner, but there are plenty of warning signs. There is a van as well which moves around certain locations, all published in the local newspapers plus of course any number of police vehicles including motorbikes and a few unmarked cars which mainly stick to the A55 trunk road. The speed cameras have also been joined by a battery of flashing speed warning signs just recently. I've no idea what sort of revenue the Flintshire cameras bring in, at least two of them are on roads that in all probabilty are only used by locals, I've never seen any of the seven flash....however, in the next county, the one by the football ground in Wrexham catches loads, it's the biggest earner in North Wales, I've seen it flash plenty of times although not at me . You may be interested to know that the cameras in Oxfordshire were never fully turned off, although they were no longer issuing tickets they were still recording speeds and there was a 25% increase in the number of vehicles exceeding the speed limit . As others have said don't speed and you won't have a problem.... Pete
  6. Lucky you , I went on the ground/trophy room tour earlier this year, for my birthday present from my daughter, really enjoyed it. Pete
  7. Caroline got me one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KOOLART-Nissan-35 ... 320wt_1139 Very good quality, also got a Z tax holder, Z keyring and Z valve covers plus loads of other things. Pete
  8. 17 hours to go, they look O.K to me, but will probably need 200 or so spending on them plus I bet tyres will be pretty expensive too. Difficult to know what they'll go for 250-300 maybe??? Pete
  9. I live in the country and apart from taking my mum's chickens a few years ago I don't know of any problems at all, well O.K, they raid my bin now and again. They certainly don't fly tip, break into houses, steal cars or instigate anti-social behaviour, in fact they do a great deal of good keeping down the rodent population. Domesticated dogs are more of a nuisance around here. In any case, fox hunting hardly controlled the fox population (its done entirely for peoples enjoyment), cars are much more efficient....it's just that I find it difficult to come to terms with the fact that people actually enjoy watching an animal get ripped apart. Pete
  10. Dates and location for Wales 2011 meet are in this thread viewtopic.php?f=57&t=43279 EDIT, Actually, I don't see a location listed, can someone confirm its at The Moreton, Chirk ? Pete
  11. Welcome along, good things come to those that wait Pete
  12. Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum Pete
  13. Looks good to me . Wednesday will soon come round Pete
  14. No, I don't use it and neither do any of my friends. I do use Friends Reunited though ...it's an age thing Pete
  15. That looks like an Interstate road which usually have a 75 limit. EDIT, yeah Interstate 675 in Ohio, Pete
  16. I was there yesterday morning, first thing in The Clio. Car Park was almost empty at 9.00 but by 10:30 it was heaving, at least it had been de iced though. Both Zeds bogged down, had to postpone my body shop appointment till January, hopefully the snow will have gone by then. Pete
  17. Certainly a good price for the year and mileage, also, in the advert it mentions satnav and remote so it must be a Birdview. Black wheels do tend to make the look car a bit dirty and are not really my cup of tea but it's no big deal. After what others have said, I would only add that you should check the service book for the all important stamps, it should have had at least four services by now with one of them being a P3. Pete
  18. At last we finally got some snow, not a lot but probably last place in the country to get any. Pete
  19. A lot better than the standard Nissan one. It's touch screen and postcode friendly and you can hide it when you park up There's a lot more to it than that of course Pete
  20. The law regarding HID washers is only aimed at manufacturers in The U.K market, they must fit them. After they've been sold there's no legal requirement for you to keep them, it's not an MOT fail. There are proposals for MOT's to include Headlamp washers from 2012 onwards but these are not set in stone. I'm going to see my mate shortly, an MOT tester and garage owner for over 30 years, he'll know the exact situation on Imports and such. Pete
  21. Weather doesn't look too bad for that part of France, just above freezing 30% chance of some snow. Colder by Christmas though. Pete
