Hello, just joined. Begging questions already!!!!

Welcome . Quite a few of us in The Cheshire/Chester/North Wales area Pete -
Mine started squeeking there, one minute no squeek, next minute loud squeek. I removed the surrounding upholstery clips and the clips underneath the brace, twiddled it for a few seconds, put the clips back and it vanished. Pete

Both for me . Wales is on my doorstep so that's fairly straightforward. The Lakez meeting is a 2 and half hour drive and in an area that I don't know that well and a great opportunity to have an entire weekend away from home . Pete

Apparently, he's left me something in his will Pete

My information is that the 295 bhp version went on sale on April 1st 2006. A very limited number were sent to dealers and journalists during March and I believe Nissan also had a couple for publicity. I can't give a figure for exactly how many but could be as few as 10 . In any case, there's little to choose between the performance as the facelift versions gained 20 bhp but also bulked out by 75 kilos, the facelift does have better lighting and a nicer interior though. As far as I know, Nurrish is still working on integrating his custom SatNav into the facelift models. The SatNav that comes with The Zed is a great cubby hole filler and that's about it really. Pete -

Welcome None, last ones were made in 2008 but there are quite a number of 09 reg'd vehicles about and I've spotted a couple of 59 reg'd cars presumably ones dealers had left over. Pete -
Slightly wider 40 profile tyres front and back would be better if they'd fit the wheels. Pete

That's something else Pete

Just a quick estimate of what a 10k per year driver can save if he/she could increase mpg from 25 to 30. At current petrol prices it'd work out to £400 per annum! A more realistic improvement would be 2 mpg, still a considerable saving of £180 or so. The main problem is that a lot of the variables are beyond our control, for example if you have to drive to work and back in heavy traffic there's very little savings to be made, unless you can go in a bit later or earlier. Lots of other things too, traffic lights, roadworks, hilly terrain, weather conditions....That aside, I don't see any real way of modding a Zed to save fuel without destroying its character. Skinny wheels would look stupid and in any case the Zed has a pretty low CD to start with. Weight reduction would help, but what exactly could you remove safely? A lot of the issues may be addressed with the next version of the Zed (if there is one) where designers can sit down with a fresh sheet of paper and design in fuel saving measures. For example I see energy recovery systems becoming the norm in a few years time, maybe lighter but stronger body panels, smaller and more efficient engines, better fuel management systems, I'm sure there are lots of other things too. The problem is that The 350Z was designed in the early 2000's when the world economy was on the up and oil was about $30 a barrel Pete

Good find . Love the colour too. Enjoy! Pete

Great story, but the bikes shown in the photos look completely different Pete

Around here it's 10% +6 mph of the posted limit, ie 39 max in a 30 limit and so on. When Caroline worked for Flintshire County Council she processed about 10 cheques a day for The Speed Awareness Course. I'm not sure if these were generated by camera or police stops or what percentage of speeding offences they covered. The course around here costs £80 and you can only attend it once in any 3 year period. Also, you have to bear in mind that if you're for example doing 36 but the police consider you are going excessively quickly for the conditions then you won't get offered the course. Pete

Dead right, a heck of a lot depends on how reliable your signal is and it's strength. I've got several here, a couple of Netgear's, a cheapo generic one supplied by a now defunct internet company and the one that AOL provided plus a couple of WAP's from Netgear and Linksys. I'm using the AOL one, a Thomson SpeedTouch right now, because its a bit easier to setup but I see no major difference between any of them Pete There is a lot of difference between brands - most dont have QoS (quality of service, eg for video streaming), a lot dont support VPN's, a lot dont have any form of firewall, most dont have parental control, most only have one aerial (the one I detailed has 8 and gives the best range out of all we have tested), most are single band not dual band etc etc I'm sure you're right but I judge them by how long they'll run without a reboot and how many connections I can maintain. I run a minimum of 10 machines 24/7, 6 of which are WiFi Laptops on various internet projects I have on the go. The router I'm using now is 3 years old and won't have some of the features you mention but works fine for me..and one of the laptops isn't even in the house Pete

Stunning!! Pete

No, but my mum had the most annoying habit of throwing the passenger door open with complete disregard to what was parked next to us . Another thing I remember is playing golf with a mate of mine many years ago. When we got back to the car he threw his clubs into the boot of his Fiesta and slammed it shut with such force that the back window fell out and smashed Pete
-
Yeah, it's supposed to act as a balance so the boot opens and closes smoothly and without too much human effort. If you add a spoiler for example then the weight will really need to be removed as the boot won't stay open. I had my Zed 3 and a half years before I joined this forum and thought the double push on the boot release was the way it was supposed to work Pete

Gosh, they are expensive http://www.carsales.com.au/used/nissan/350z/ What's the price of fuel out there? Pete

I've got something ordered, just waiting for the front tyres to come back into stock. I thought long and hard, looked at hundreds of wheels, changed my mind umpteen times before deciding on the right ones for me. All will be revealed soon... Pete O.K, I don't have a picture of them on a 350Z...you'll have to make do with this pic of them on a 370Z Still waiting for 245/30/20 Falkens... Pete

I don't have all the answers but I'll answer the ones that I do. Plastic bumpers, in fact any plastic on the Zed will always look to be a different colour, so perfectly normal. Boot release...well that's a very common problem. You can fix by one of two methods, have the struts regassed or remove the balance weight which is hidden away underneath the plastic upholstery in the boot. Key fob can be reprogrammed, press and hold both the buttons for 5 seconds, this removes the anti-hijack protection. Do the same to turn it on again Someone will be along soon to answer the rest of your questions Pete
