  1. Pretty shocking, although the death toll will thankfully be a lot lower than the Boxing Day Tsunami the damage looks to be a lot worse. It's a mammoth task just to clear up the mess, never mind rebuilding it all. What on Earth are are they going to do with it all, burn it? bury it? Something that you can't help notice is the incredible number of cars and vans that were swept along like toys in the black tide and apparently, a number of people actually survived inside their vehicles . Pete
  2. I'm afraid you may be right, he's a long distance truck driver and he didn't get up until 2.00pm so it had probably been gone for 10 hours or so . His insurance company has provided him with a hire car for now but how long does it take them to pay up on a stolen vehicle? Pete
  3. you don 't drive it enough! was that a bad summer or something hahahah! The dealer registered it then left it in the showroom for 13 months . I just asked them to service it before I picked it up as in theory if I didn't have it done then it would invalidate the warranty. Pete
  4. Just had the news that my son in laws RX8 was stolen from outside his house in Sandbach overnight. Looks like they found a way of disabling the alarm and immobiliser as he still has his keys. Car is an 04 in Black with 80,000 on the clock, I'm guessing they wanted it for spares Pete
  5. I'm a low mileage user (2.5k per annum) and I've skipped services, I just upgraded what should have been a P2 to a P3. Mind you, I can claim the lowest ever mileage for a P1 service...49 miles on the clock . Pete
  6. Are those Axis Penta wheels? I like the "Z" Centre caps, where did you get them? Pete
  7. There's one down the road from me, an import, it's the only red one I've ever seen. ChrisS has carded it a few times without any response. Pete
  8. Looking . As far as spacers go, I went for 20's all round, some go for 20's front ,25's on the rear. I didn't notice any difference with or without them at the speed I drive Pete
  9. JetSet

    tyre sizes

Yeah, I used a different calculator and it showed 255/35/19.. 1mm difference....245/35/19..6mm difference, you would seem to be right. Pete
  10. Let me think 1. 1965 Minivan 2. 1967 Hillman Imp Californian 3 1970 Mini 850 4 1971 Sunbeam Stilleto 5 1971 Austin Healey Sprite 6 1972 Triumph Spitfire 7 1970 Lotus Europa S2 8 1974 Mini 1000 9 1972 Triumph GT6 10 1978 Datsun Cherry Sadly, I have no photos of 1/2/8 and 9 Pete
  11. Very nice . It would great if you could find a way of filling those arches, a set of 20 inch wheels with good offsets would be the way to go. However, I reckon you'll still need chunky spacers on the back and smaller ones on the front to get the perfect stance. Pete
  12. It's just a matter of luck, expected to see loads in California, Arizona, etc, saw a grand total of 3 in 9 weeks ...never seen Ricey's Zed and have only seen Greeny and Fodder at mini meets and they live pretty close to me. Buckley is a small town with another member on here and I've only seen that once. All the ones I see are non members Pete
  13. Jeez, this is really bad, may even be worse than The Boxing Day Tsunami in Indonesia, unbelievable pictures . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/ Pete
  14. Suffering a blowout at 70 on an Interstate Highway in Denver really put the wind up me and I'd be a bag of nerves driving at say 120 where it was legal to do so. As far as claimed top speeds go, I always take them with a pinch of salt, most speedos are out by as much as 10%, even more if you've messed around with the tyre size. Pete
  15. Almost none, had mine over 4 years and have never been approached while away from home and never seen anybody looking at it apart from a couple of primary school kids once . That's what you get when you have a Blade Silver. Pete
  16. I don't notice much difference in the ride quality and yes, I was a bit concerned that 20" wheels would require lowering but it's not too bad as it is... TBH I think it would look better if it was lowered 15mm at the back and maybe 5-10mm at the front but it's staying as it is for now . Pete
  17. What can I say, Ive had people falling off kerbs and walking into lamposts seeing it in the metal. Sure, its not everyones tastes but it honestly makes a standard Z33 look a bit ....... ordinary. Oh and its a Chargespeed front end, I wouldnt call it ugly Well, having viewed a few more Chargespeeds, I've changed my mind, they look good from just about every angle apart from that one Look a lot better at eye level Pete
  18. Here you go, 20" inch Axis Penta's on standard suspension, with 20mm spacers. Bought these secondhand and have had the outer lip refurbed since this photo was taken. Offsets on the wheels are 25, might struggle to clear the brembos without the spacers. The EBay ones are Vertini, I've got a different model Vertini on mine, seem to be quite well made. Pete
  19. Ugly front end, a stone chip magnet from the looks of it and I hate number plates to one side like that . Surprised that no one's mentioned Shire's Zed, it's the best one I've seen in the flesh Pete
