  1. It's really difficult to pin down an answer to this, so I'm not giving any opinion. There are several reasons given why it must use some fuel firstly to avoid detonation and secondly to avoid catalyst damage. Others say no fuel at all is used. One answer I saw avoided the question altogether by saying that you should use your brakes because they're cheaper to replace than gearboxes . Apparently in days of old engine braking was essential as on long downhills brakes would overheat and even catch fire Pete
  2. Hi Simon, welcome to the forum. There's a fair few of us here who've come over from the Celica. Pete
  3. Computer fixed 10/10...Car Cleaned 7/10 , I just didn't get time to do it justice although it looks O.K from a distance. Sadly, the interior didn't get a look in, a quick shake of the floor mats in the morning is about as much as it'll get. Not my day really, managed to spray the hose on one of Caroline's mobiles and I look to have killed it Pete

    Headlights

I've seen a pair of second hand ones for just under 2 grand, I would imagine Nissan ones brand new would be in the order of 3k. Not sure what Prefacelift lights go for second hand if you want to recover some of your outlay, never seen any for sale. Pete
  5. Absolute Nightmare, got a new board, CPU and memory this morning . Screwed it all together, no picture on screen....PSU not powerful enough, no problems, removed a 650W PSU from an unused computer..good stuff, booted up but couldn't install the drivers as neither the mouse or keyboard are being recognised . Dig out old PS2 mouse, install drivers and away we go...5 minutes later computer shuts down ...PSU blown (well it was an old one). Remove another PSU, this time a really good 700W one and fingers crossed its all working properly . Now to clean the car (and order some new PSU's) Pete
  6. Yeah, I can do a temporary fix by stripping a motherboard out of a machine I'm not using right now. Could have done without this Pete
  7. Yeah, I was in such a rush to get them fitted . The main problem was with the tiny dots, they were determined not to come off the vinyl but in the end only one of them was lost and I just used a fine white marker pen to fill in the space where it should have gone . Pete
  8. Darn it, my main PC has just failed, motherboard has had it unfortunately. I keep all my main stuff on there so I need to fix it ASAP but I also need to clean my car for Saturdays Outon Park meet...what a dilemna Pete
  9. Seems that there are some U.K ones about but yeah, pretty rare viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32595&p=482378&hilit=Burning+Red#p482378 Pete
  10. Still got my big one to fit, that looks to be a good place to put it . Had a hell of a job removing the hazy vinyl layer, mind you it was below freezing at the time Pete
  11. Burning Red? Didn't think that colour was ever available in The U.K?? Pete
  12. Congrats on the purchase . Clutch is fairly heavy but you'll soon get used to it. Pete
  13. I'm always suspicious of HotMail and Yahoo addresses, difficult if not impossible to trace and most scams hide behind them. It seems that advertising anything on the Net these days is a risky business. Pete

A 17 year old did this. Pete
  15. 10 = O That's me . First photo taken in 1974, Chester locals will spot the location. Second photo 2010, Newark Airport. Pete
  16. Oh sorry, I thought it was a publicity leaflet. Pete

    Words fail me

Apparently, this make of car doesn't have an airbag or any kind of traction control Pete
  18. Would you let your 20 year old take your supercar out for a spin with his 19 year old girlfriend? http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/13078895 Not too bright The German Police Pete
  19. Very good, you might think about mentioning its in June though Pete
  20. Yeah, we part exchanged our 2.0L special edition Z4 last September and its been sitting on The Nissan Main dealers forecourt until a fortnight ago. I think its pretty bad for anyone selling a sports car or a gas guzzling SUV right now. Pete
  21. Can't say for sure but the big one in Chester closed down a while ago. As far as Zed Imports go , I think the bubble burst around 2006, I think the strength of the Yen and the drop in value of U.K Zed's meant the end for cheap imports. There was an imported bulge bonnet 2007 model that one of the members here went to view recently but that's the only one I know of. Pete
  22. Yeah, straight swap, if you've got a spare 3 grand or so . A more common mod is to fit the facelift rear leds onto pre facelift models. Pete
