  1. Living close to both the now closed RAF Sealand and the old De Havilland (Now Airbus) sight at Broughton, Chester we used to see Vulcans close up quite regularly back in the 70's and 80's. I don't think they ever landed but what an awesome sight they were as they flew over at a couple of hundred feet. Definitely the best of the V Bombers Just looked up the Vulcan on Wikipedia and was pleasantly surprised to see that 20 or so are in museums and apart from the one that's airworthy another is capable of moving under its own power Pete
  2. Yeah, I've read that before, very sobering. I'm not going to read it all again, but somewhere along the line he mentions that some of the evidence that the police presented against him came from the posts he made on a forum. I'm pretty sure that the police have more important things to scan on the internet than car forums (with some exceptions) but if you're in a fatal accident and they spot an owners club badge then rash postings could come back to haunt you, plus there's always the possibility that another forum member could take umbrage with comments and tip off the police . Pete
  3. Welcome to the forum Now where have I heard that before Pete
  4. Not yet - I was offered when I went to view on Saturday but daft as it sounds I knew I'd get a bit too nervous with the dealer in the car so I'm going back with my Dad tomorrow who knows far more about engines than I do so will go for a spin with him. Bless him, he's even going to get his ears syringed in the morning so he can hear properly Any tips or pointers for us? Cheers, S. Yeah, some simple things, check that the boot stays open on its own, those spoilers weigh a lot and even with the balance weight removed can easily decapitate you If it won't stay up you'll need to re gas the struts. Make sure it has a couple of keys, Nissan charge the earth to replace them and check that the wheel locking nuts key is present and of course check the electric windows are working. When you've been for your drive report any knocks, bangs, squeeks and other noises for the experts here to diagnose...most are very easily fixed Pete
  5. Yes, they are, both facelift and pre facelift, mine had a couple of claw marks when I bought it new. It seems that while it was sitting in the showroom (for 12 months) they failed to lock the doors, god knows how many people got in and out of it . With regards to The Nismo kit, take a look at the rear spoiler, it's fairly easy to spot replicas, even good ones as they have imperfections and from certain angles you can see they are not that smooth. Pete
  6. Am I just imagining it or are these wheels scratched Pete
  7. Yeah, a slow puncture will often lead to the tyre overheating and bulging especially if the pressure drops below 20. Had the same thing myself on my Zed 3 about years ago. Pete
  8. That's about it really. Pete
  9. Nice wheels . I'm just curious as to the profile of those rear tyres, look very low to me. The gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch looks massive Pete
  10. If this is the car in Whitchurch then I can pop down and take a look at it. Pete
  11. I think this only works if you have programmed the key fob to open each door on it's own. Unlock the car pressing the key fob once, after a few minutes of inactivity it locks and alarms itself. Pete
  12. Doesn't on Caroline's MY07 roadster. Pete Is it definetly the origional nissan key? It should operate as above. Maybe its a replacent? Looks original to me. Just sets the alarm off when opening the door. Pete
  13. Another thing I've noticed is that the facelift roadster has a dim light on in the interior light cluster when the exterior lights are turned on. Also there's a small parcel net in the passenger footwell which isn't present on my pre facelift model. Pete
  14. Doesn't on Caroline's MY07 roadster. Pete

Not sure if that figure of 1,000 is correct but yeah, numbers were limited, one of the reasons why so many were imported from Japan. Pete
  16. No they didn't. All GT convertibles had buttons on both sides, but where the ones on the left on the coupe did the bluetooth controls, on the convertible they only did the radio as BT wasn't available as an option. If it doesn't have buttons on both sides of the wheel then it's not a GT car UNLESS the wheel has been replaced at some point, although why you'd do that is a different kettle of fish. Oops my bad When I was searching for 350z's, all the 'GT' convertibles I looked at only had one set of buttons on the steering wheel also so I thought that was the way they were meant to be. Luckily I didn't buy one then! I've just researched this and looked at several photos of GT convertibles. It would seem that the extra buttons were introduced with the facelift model in 2006. I've looked at a few roadsters from 2005 advertised as "GT" and they are all missing 3 buttons from the steering wheel but they have all the other things that GT's have (Bose, Leather, Heated Seats). For example this one... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2971583.htm If someone can produce a photo of a pre facelift roadster with 6 buttons then I'm obviously wrong Pete
  17. That pretty well sums it up. Just a couple of small things to add, MY07 models have an illuminated ignition key and there's also a drinks holder built into both the door storage areas, which on the drivers side is also illuminated. Pete

Partly, but I'd put the lack of 350Z's down to competition from The Audi TT and The BMW Z4, buyers see them as a "safer" buy than the 350Z. The huge waiting list for Zed's from 2003 to 2007 didn't help Nissan either. Pete
  19. Nearly fell asleep watching that, 3 and a half minutes of total boredom ... last 5 seconds were quite interesting though Pete
  20. Ha, can't value mine, not enough miles on the clock Pete
  21. Does seem a bit cheap, but ticks all the right boxes as far as I can see. Well worth taking a look at it Pete
  22. Ooops only read back 4 pages Pete
  23. Sad news for Columbo fans, the star of the show Peter Falk has died aged 83. Apparently he'd been suffering from Dementia for a few years. Columbo was one of my favourite shows from the 70's and one of only a handful of American shows that I enjoyed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13909992 Pete

Nothing to be sorry about, they cost 47k so I'd expect them to be a whole lot better Pete
