Wouldn't that be great, sadly its nothing more than a filtration tower. It's actually 150 feet tall which will give you some idea of just how deep the lake is. Great place to visit and if you want to run a fast half marathon time then that's the place to go . Pete

Gosh, I paid about that almost 5 years ago for my preregistered Zed, I think mine had 14 miles on the clock though .Amazing how they've come down Pete

I hereby declare this to be the winner Pete

That's the road that runs from Betwys-Coed through Penmachno and joins up with the Ffestiniog moors at Pic 15, the one where Bob looks to be sitting on top of a miniture house . Not for the faint hearted, narrow bumpy, loose sheep, blind bends and even worse blind brows. Not too many passing places either. The other single track road is a real stunner, runs from just outside Bala over the mountains to Lake Vyrnwy , not been over there in 20 years but it still looks just like I remember it. Nice set of photos Pete

It's a winner....we all get to drive a bit faster and we all use more fuel to help swell the Motorway Service area profits and the extra fuel tax raised will come in handy too . Seriously though, I'd prefer a 75 limit both on motorways and dual carriageways for a trail period, say 3 to 5 years Pete

27 degrees here today, that amazingly is the warmest day we've had around here since June 2009 Pete

Details are fairly scarce as I heard this second hand but apparently a Blue Zed Roadster was spotted on the back of a truck with severe damage all down one side over the weekend in Chester. Most likely a 350 as it was describes as "The same as Caroline's". Pete

All the U.K Yellows will be GT4's but there are a small number of yellow non GT4 imports around Pete

Someone recently stripped an electric sub station near here while it was still running Still hasn't been fixed as for some reason it isn't owned by the electric company. We have our problems with the gypsy community too, they have a planning application for a permanent site on a green barrier site about a mile from here which I'm told is very likely to be approved. It's a long story but although the land is owned by one of the gypsies it has been protected from development as The Welsh assembly has earmarked the site for a major road improvent scheme. It seems there's one rule for those who pay their taxes and another for those who don't Pete

US & A '08 Headlights into UK '05 ZED?
JetSet replied to Adrian@TORQEN's topic in 350Z Modifications
Don't see any reason why they shouldn't physically fit, problem is the beams will point in the wrong direction Pete -
Driving home from a meeting last night and chatting away to Caroline I noticed a car coming towards to me....on my side of the road . I started slowing down and flashing my lights but he or she just moved further over to my side....had to slam on my brakes and swerve onto the opposite side of the road to avoid a head on, I guess I was doing 40 or so when I passed him. This was on a very wide 2 lane trunk road and when I took a look in my mirror he had stopped right in the middle of the road. The road is dead straight at this point for about a mile, no houses and minimal lighting at this spot. My heart was still pounding when I got home a couple of minutes later . Pete

Tend to park mine well away from where anyone might bump into it so I haven't had very many comments from passing random people. It's usually young kids under 12 that seem most interested in it, plus the occasional delivery driver that we get down our lane. Caroline does get the "what is it question" now and again on the odd occasion she takes out her roadster, something that's only happened to me once. I think silver cars get less attention anyway Pete

Yeah, my first battery lasted about 2 and a half years, just 5.5k on the clock. I left mine standing for a month while I was on holiday and the battery wouldn't hold the charge after that. Pete

Mine's 60 and owns a Zed Pete

Yeah, I got some from him but they aren't cheap... about £7 each. Pete

Tyres should also be run in for about 200 miles, no hard cornering. From what I understand they are coated with some sort of release agent which is quite slippery. Modern engines don't really need running in as they are built to much higher tolerances than engines of yesteryear, but I must admit to running mine in to 3.5k revs for the first 1,000 miles...old habits die hard Pete

I've had quite a few Nissan and other Jap cars, in fact the first ones I had were when the company was called Datsun. I've always found them to be ultra reliable which is for me the most important factor when buying a car that you intend to keep for quite a while. Had the 350Z been made by Ford, TVR, Fiat or Alfa for example then I wouldn't have touched it. I daresay a TT or a BMW would have been a safer option but the unreliability of the TT and Z4 my wife had and the bland looks of the Eurobox BMW's (and they are both so common) meant that The 350Z was what I chose. Fair enough, the problem I had was that my wheels didn't have the indents for the studs to slot into, I overcame this by fitting a 5mm spacer and then put the 20mm spacer on top of that,(easier than shortening the studs ) yours must be a slightly different version of the wheels. In any case, these are really great wheels at a good price, I paid almost double what you're asking Pete
-
Just a quick word of warning on these wheels which I have on my 350Z. The good news is that the spacers are not required to clear the brembos . The not so good news is that the wheel studs will have to be shortened by approx 5mm if you want to fit the spacers, that is assuming that the offsets are the same as the Hennesey wheels fitted to mine. I've built 100 or so custom machines since 2003 but only 2 in the last 18 months and maybe 10 since 2006. My profit margin on each machine was £20-£30 but I wasn't really doing it for the money, just enjoyed the satisfaction of building them TBH. The market for them has now dried up as most people go for laptops and the high end gamers have switched to dedicated gaming machines. Some of the machines I built from 2003-2005 were actually given back to me . Cheaper just to buy a custom made one from E-Bay than build it yourself these days. Pete

Yeah, that would be me, but they did put it right in the end though... Pictures in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41841 Pete

A rather unusual place to see a random Zed as this one was running on the back entrance road to Asda so I'm guessing it must be someone local? Second 370Z I've spotted around locally this week. Pete

Saw the V6 one turning off towards Christleton a few months ago. There's also an Azure one in Buckley that I see from time to time. Pete

I still think Arsenal will finish Top 6, Liverpool made a much worse start last season and still ended up in 7th place, although they didn't really lose any games by big margins. The problem at Arsenal is that they haven't replaced (or been able to replace) some of the great players they had in the early to mid 2000's. They also have a strict salary policy so they just aren't going to attract the big name players they need to compete with the big 3 clubs who seem to have infinite resources. The gulf between the have's and the have not's has sadly never been bigger so predicting the teams who will challenge for title and Champions league places has become pretty easy. The EPL is starting to look like The Scottish premier league where just 2 clubs win 95% of the trophies Pete
