Yeah, not just rockers either. If you look at 60's through to 90's bands and individual artists they will have a period from 3-5 years when they at their artistic peak and after that they just go through the motions or gradually fade. Perversely, the artists that last the longest are usually those that rely on others to provide their songs for them. I find it very sad to see bands trying to make a comeback, not good for their legacy IMHO. Pete

The Welsh government is prioritising remote areas that have no broadband at all, one of the reasons why ChrisS who lives in a small village has a much better connection than me. There is no cable at all in Buckley or as far as I can tell nothing in Deeside either. Of course I'm a fair way from the exchange, I believe those in the centre of Buckley get approx 6mb but this diminishes to 4.5mb about a mile away and for me the most distant house from the Buckley exchange a mere 3mb. Looking at The BT roadmap there's no date for any improvements in my area and I've got more chance of being selected for the first mission to Mars than I have of getting cable. Pete

And a lot quicker than the 3.0 that we get in Buckley with a population 18,000 and some people on the fringes of Deeside still can't get Broadband of any kind . Pete

I only ever listen to Radio 5 these days, I gave up on commercial radio yonks ago, just mindless chatter from big ego DJ's, adverts and lowest common denominator music..yuk. On the odd occasion I'll play a CD but that's about it. Caroline is the opposite, radio on all the time and when I took my daughter to Liverpool to see the match last week she was constantly channel hopping from one station to another, drove me flippin mad Lots of country lanes around here and the tactics from other drivers seem to be to blow their horn and proceed at full speed around tight single lane corners so its a good idea to be able to actually hear what's going on . I've driven all three . I would add that I only did 10 or 15 miles in the Honda so I can't really give a full assessment but it felt really good, nice and smooth. The Z4 I drove was my wife's which she had from new and this was the 2.0L version. Obviously you can't compare the power to that of a 350Z but there are a few things to bear in mind. This isn't a car for anyone much over 6 feet tall, there's a lot of seating adjustments you can make but sadly even with the seats right back it still feels a little cramped. The other thing I didn't like about the Z4 was the enormous length of the bonnet which made it quite difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces. Run flats are standard on these so they have a tendency to tramline and the alloys BMW fit corrode like nothing else I've ever seen. Pete

WALES 2012 DISCUSS + *OFFICIAL LIST on P1*
JetSet replied to Ebized's topic in National Events & Shows
True its a great weekend and a unique opportunity to meet members from outside your own region. 50 places sounds a lot but they'll fill up quickly so anyone considering coming should get their names down ASAP. -
Welcome to the forum . Looks good to me . Pete

It's surprising just how far people travel to get to the ASDA in Queensferry, from all over The Wirral, Chester and North Wales. P.S Fodder, your car needs a clean ....so does mine, if I mentioned when it was last cleaned I'd probably get a 7 months ban (hint) . Good job Silvers don't show the dirt I guess! What makes it worse is that you rarely get above walking pace on the coast road so there's plenty of time to take in the "sights". Pete

This seems to be a hot spot for spotting Zeds just lately . This one was seen leaving ASDA at 14:30 today...reg was OE 06 ***, thinking this could be Fodders car but didn't get a good view of the driver. Pete

Yeah, me too, 1982 to be precise. Did all the usual things...drove down Lombardy Street, The Golden Gate and Oakland Bay bridges and also drove around some of the streets made famous in "Bullitt". Visited Fishermans Wharf and Chinatown too, so lots to see and do .Even in summer though I found San Fransisco to be a rather cold place, I think it was Mark Twain who said that the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Fransisco . I still have the newspaper I bought there in April 1981, on the day of the 75th anniversary of the 1906 Great Earthquake . Pete
-
Good lord, that's a turn up for the books . Looks great though, so congrats on the purchase Pete

Interesting to say the least. Not keen on the front end though but from the side its . Can't comment on the rear as there are no photos of it Pete

Results Of Nissan Health Check Prior to MOT HELP!!
JetSet replied to Trojan D079's topic in 350Z Technical
Makes you laugh doesn't it...I had an advisory from Nissan in 2009 saying my brakes were 50% worn, considering the car had only done 7,200 miles and I'm extremely light on my brakes I was pretty astonished. Took it to the same dealer in 2010 now with 9,500 miles on the clock and yeah you've guessed it, no advisories (except for one of the tyres which they quoted a hugely over inflated price on) Pete -
Hmm, that sounds to me like aftermarket bumpers will fail then Pete
-
Yeah, I got egged late at night a couple of years ago leaving ASDA. Hit the back window of Caroline's Z4 and ran down onto the hood...devil of a job to get it off as well Pete

I remember seeing one of these back in the day and thought they looked like a poor mans American Gas Guzzler. Don't think many of these were sold in The U.K, I only ever saw the one so they must be very rare these days. According to this, 4 on the road a further 8 SORNED. http://howmanyleft.co.uk/combined/datsun_260c Pete

That's an interesting question...I've always believed that space is infinite so there could be further universe's just like ours out there but at truly mind boggling distances...trillions of light years away perhaps (or much further) . Pete
