  1. Only one of them in The U.K http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/datsun_2000 This one looks like an import and I don't think they were ever sold in The U.K, in fact I don't think any Datsuns were sold here till 1970 or so. Pete
  2. Yeah, I trapped my thumb some years ago in work, absolute agony, nail completely black. Took a trip down to the medical centre in work and the nurse drilled a hole in the nail the using a needle. She simply rotated the needle back and forth until the blood came out, easy peasy. I've used the same technique several times since then on blood blisters underneath the nail. Pete
  3. Great photos . Is that a Datsun 2000 on The Zed stand? Pete
  4. Just remember that the most direct routes from Vegas to SF over the Sierra Nevada will be closed at that time of year, and even if they are open, chains are a legal requirement. You'll probably need to head west to Bakersfield then go North up U.S Highway 5, lovely drive though Pete
  5. Gosh, what a nightmare . I always thought that bumpers were supposed to deform in low speed crashes but it seems that The Zed just falls apart. Someone ran into the back of my Escort Turbo at at least 10mph a few years ago and the rear bumper did its job and just sprung back into shape, only damage was a small crease in the boot. Anyway, hope you get it sorted soon. Pete
  6. You have to be careful that you don't go too far. The fronts are prone to rubbing the wheel arches once you get down to around an ET of +8...rears will take +8 (just) as long as you don't lower it . To further complicate things, from memory, I think that you have to recalculate quoted ET's on bigger wheels. I'll check that in the morning. Couldn't sleep so checked it out Here's the calculator http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp If you go for for wider wheels then you need to recalculate the ET...that's the way I read it anyway. Pete
  7. Happy birthday No just one from the pensions office Pete
  8. Offsets on the 18" Rays are +30 front and +33 rear. so adding a 20 ml spacer to the front will take it to +10 and a 25 to +8 on the rear. Some people have gone further than this, some less but the general opinion here seems to be that 20 ml spacer front and 25ml spacer rear gives the best stance. Pete
  9. Very impressive, very skilful driver, a professional maybe. Pete
  10. Looking at your location this could possibly be ChrisS previous car, he had a scorpion on his. Pete
  11. Well, the car has done a lot of miles, that's for sure Still worth considering but you really need to speak to the guy first and get some sort of idea what's been done to it in the last few years. First of all you will need to replace that damaged wheel, Zmanalex may have these in stock, but they can be difficult to get hold of, also you need to find out how much wear is left on the tyres, etc, get an idea of what its going to cost you to get it on the road really. GT4's are highly prized amongst the Zed community and at a guess that one will probably only drop another 1-1.5k in the next couple of years, but running costs could be the problem. The Zed is a pretty sturdy beast though and that one does look to be in pretty good condition. Tough decision. Pete
  12. There's a discussion about this here. viewtopic.php?f=41&t=58858 Pete
  13. Yeah, wheel cracked, probably expensive to replace too. A bargain if you're only going to be doing a couple of K a year though....very tempting Pete
  14. Should do, but you'll need a new wheel brace as I think these have a slightly smaller head size than the standard chrome nuts, Pete
  15. I think the top teams always hold back a couple of seconds, they won't show all of their cards until first practice or even as late as Q3 in Australia. It's more interesting as you move down the field though, several teams look to be very closely matched. Pete
  16. They do make 800 mb versions too. You would have to check if your CD Writer supports this format. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VERBATIM-CD-R ... 500wt_1156 CD's actually go up to 900 mb! Pete
  17. Actually, I was wrong about Dougie Brown being the last survivor of The Comedians. Although he may well be now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-nort ... s-17147087 One of the forgotten comedians, very funny guy. Pete
  18. Have you tried it on one of the 700mb disks? Pete
  19. +1, mine went in the exactly the same way, one minute it was fine, next minute just a click...that car may well still be on the original battery too, mine lasted less than 3 years. Pete
  20. Of the ones that did "The Comedians" in the 70's, I think Dougie Brown is the only one left. Pete
  21. I've been a few times, its amazing how much its changed and grown since my first visit in 1981. So where have I stayed, well a few times at the now demolished "Glass Pool Motel", made famous in a Robert Plant video and several times at a huge (and cheap ) casino in between Boulder City and Hoover Dam about 15 miles from Vegas. Last time, 2007, I was on a tight budget but wanted to stay in Vegas itself so I booked online to stay in The Stratosfear, not a bad hotel but in the seedier part of town , something I found out when I booked in . TBH, I've never stayed more than 3 days as its just too hot in summer but should be very pleasant in January. Plenty to see outside of Vegas, Hoover Dam, The spectacular Valley of Fire State Park and Death Valley isn't too far away either. Don't like L.A, found it to be quite a frightening place and a bit of a dump too but if you do decide to go there then the drive along the coast to San Fransisco is spectacular. http://www.roadsidepeek.com/roadusa/sou ... /index.htm Pete
  22. Yeah, didn't get a fine but received a written warning for not signing my paper licence many years ago. Most ridiculous fine I ever got was £1 for blowing my horn when leaving a pub after the horn curfew hour, only gave a quick toot to my mate Pete

    Advice on Car

So, it's an import then? Looks like it has the useless Japanese SatNav and mileage is always difficult to confirm on imports and this one has a very low mileage for a 9 year old car . Looks like a good example though. Pete
