And today the not-so-lucky GTR driver...

That's nasty. Pete -
Yes, you've obviously used the same calculator as me Fronts aren't too bad but the rears are a bit too far out. The closest I could come up with for the rears would be 265/35/19. In an ideal world the sizes for 19" wheels on the Zed should be 245/35/19 and 275/35/19. As KyleR has said above, traction control could be a problem If the battery was flat then it'll need a new one before too long, it's a big engine to turn over and they never hold the charge properly again, might last the summer but that's about it. Well, you have to pay enter Wales on one of The Severn Bridges, a Whopping £6 these days, but it's free when you cross over into England . This government and the previous one as well don't really have any long term plans for transport other than HSR2. They have made some very good long term plans for supplying energy when fossil fuel runs out but there seems to be no master plan for the future of road transport. If using hard shoulders and having private toll roads is all they can come up with but they can find billions to finance HSR2 then you could start thinking that they don't think its worth improving the roads any further. I'm not blaming this particular government, the last few governments have all made excuses not to spend money on roads. If you look at France, they had a long term plan and now have not only a superb motorway system but an integrated high speed rail network. Pete

HELP , very soon to be 350z owners but which one

Well, maybe I spoke too soon http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/07-07-NISSAN- ... 591wt_1396 10K but with 54k on the clock and Twilight Grey From what I've seen,Twilight Grey is definitely the most common colour for the 313 roadster. They did come in an assortment of colours, Black, Midnight Blue, Rosso Red, Pearl White, Universal Silver and Temper Orange but most of those are pretty rare or very rare (I've only ever seen one other 313 roadster in the flesh and that had been wrapped ). Indeed the 313's engine is 80% different but the 0-62 time and the top speed is identical to the 2006 facelift models. The engines do have slightly different characteristics though. I don't have any working knowledge of the first facelift model but I think the only difference inside is the illuminated ignition switch and maybe the light in the door pocket. I paid some 17.9k for Caroline's 2008 313 roadster with 7k on the clock back in 2010, probably worth maybe 12-13k now but I think that apart from The limited edition GT4, it'll probably hold its price better than most of the Zed range. 40% chance of rain for qualifying on Saturday, this increases to a 60% chance for the race on Sunday Pete

Accelera are made by Pirelli, had them on mine for the last 15 months and as you say, decent in the dry, take it easy in the wet. They are are a very hard and long lasting tyre, hardly any wear on mine. Pete

The government only spend about 12% of the money they raise from taxing the motorist on roads but are now looking at getting private companies to build toll roads...would you use them or has the experience of The M6 toll road put off private companies? Should we be looking at other options like getting as much freight onto the railways as possible to alleviate some of the pressure on roads like The M1/M6/M25? For example the 2 main railway lines around here have about 10 freight movements a week between them while the main route into Wales carries thousands of trucks a day. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17423693 Pete

A whole host of problems . I've not had the experience of The Zed running out of fuel, but in the past some cars have taken a while to pump the fuel through, if its been standing a while without fuel then there could be an air lock somewhere . Something obviously wrong with the electrics although The Zed does need a really good battery, when mine went after leaving it standing for 6 weeks or so the battery just wouldn't hold enough charge. Don't know about the stereo code, mine never asked for one when I changed the battery, in fact apart from the computer resetting itself everything went fine. Key fobs can be a problem but should last for many years, both of mine are over 6 years old and work fine. If the key fob wasn't responding then maybe the engine wouldn't turn over at all ? The other problems could just be down to fuses. Pete

I don't wish to rain on your parade but you'll have to stretch your budget a bit to get a 2007 (313) roadster, there's not many of them about, 300 or so in The U.K and right now with the summer just about to arrive (hopefully), the few that are on the market look to be fetching upwards of 11k. You could definitely get a 2006 facelift (300) roadster for that sort of budget though, the difference in performance is pretty small and interior trim is almost identical to the 313 version...just a thought Pete -
Stunning as usual Pete

We have a fair number of members around your height, at least one of them is 6 ft 7 so you shouldn't have any problems Pete

Genuine 350z Front Bumper Plus Extras
JetSet replied to Trojan D079's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
It is different, yes, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't fit. The pictures show that the reflectors are missing and I don't think the older ones will fit although there are traders here who sell them. Pete -
Welcome Pete

Welcome to the forum Looks like a good buy to me, only drawback is that it isn't a GT, so it won't have a few of the goodies, like heated seats. Pete

Welcome The 2007 onwards engine had a significant redesign and adds in the region of 15 bhp, its commonly known as the HR engine, in other words it has a higher rev limit than previous versions. . The engine is slightly taller than the earlier versions so they can usually be spotted by the bulge in the bonnet, but as this is a popular mod for the older Zeds its always best to take a peek under the bonnet to make sure it has the twin intakes. Yeah, he got a bit over excited at times. He also missed a few things, got some of the drivers mixed up, we'll have to give him some time. It's not an easy job, both Legard and Allen were crucified on some of the F1 forums I subscribe to, not much love for The Auusie or American commentators either. Pete

Gave the SLK a superdupper wash this morning

Oh yes, that's nice Pete -
It does look like a cut down version of an American car, very nice Pete

Me neither, but then again I always leave a big gap to the next vehicle anyway I think they are a bit useless anyway, more of a fashion statement than anything else. Pete

There are a few of these about, sadly you'll pay the top rate of road tax on that Pete

Pretty good, Qualifying was uninterrupted but quite a few adverts during practice, although to be fair there were plenty of times when nothing was really going on. I'm guessing there'll be a lot of adverts in the pre race show but I'm not getting up until 5.45 so I'll miss most of that . The team is pretty well balanced and no more of the annoying Eddie Jordan . I tried a few of the red button gizmos out during practise and they look pretty good, lots of info and views available. The gadget attached to the widescreen/touchscreen TV that little Anthony Davison was using was pretty neat too. So far, so good but let's see how the race goes. Pete
