  1. viewtopic.php?f=89&t=62263 It'll be good fun Pete
  2. Some more info, The Type G was a limited edition JDM car with 19 inch rear wheels and in Japan the colour was called Premium Mystique Maroon. According to an old brochure I found The Type G was available in 4 colours, the other 3 being Silver, Black and Grey. Apparently there are just 2 of these in the country and both were owned by forum members who sold them on in 2009. Their whereabouts today is unknown. Interesting that one was spotted in a docks area, maybe another one being imported? Pete
  3. Anyone over 60 will be familiar with this although you needed it for different reasons back then . Pete
  4. If it is then it'll most likely be U.S import and thus LHD. As far as I can make out this was a U.S colour only for 2003. I looked on the colour chart and there is no equivalent for Europe/JDM/Australia. EDIT, Yes, not even available in Canada, didn't sell well in The States but now fetch good money over there. Interlagos Fire was available in Japan however and I believe that 2 cars have made their way into the U.K. If the boom in JDM imports had of continued beyond 2005 then we would have had quite a few in the country, although the colour was only available for the 2006 facelift model . Pete
  5. I thought that when I saw them last night. Seems to be a trend to lower the cars and have the wheels way inside the arches . Pete
  6. A lot of car for your money, 45k when they were new so they seem to suffer very steep depreciation. 100k would only frighten me off it had 4 or 5 owners, I did 116k in my RS Turbo without any major problems and I'm sure that Mercs have a better build quality than Fords. Pete
  7. His wikipedia entry is an interesting read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranulph_Fiennes Made the shortlist for the role of James Bond All round amazing guy. Pete
  8. If we go on the B4391 over The Berwyn mountains to Bala again it should at least be a bit smoother http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-18293616 Pete
  9. Different sized tyres on the rears....surely this would mean that the differential would be spinning constantly at different speeds on each axle? that can't be a good thing. Also, I'd have thought the TC would have complained about it Pete
  10. Right, I hadn't seen that before .That's a partial delamination, a classic symptom of an overheated tyre. Pete
  11. I don't think it would have been a blowout. Here's a catastrophic one I had on a rear tyre a few years ago. Big bang and the car becomes a missile which is hard to control and mine was in a straight line at no more than 60 mph. A slow puncture is a possibility though. Having watched the video a few times there's no evidence of anything other than a touch of oversteer really, no violent swaying, no apparent loss of grip, just goes straight on Hope you get it sorted. Pete
  12. Thermostats can fail in 2 ways, they can fail to open and overheat the car or they can stick open and the car will take an eternity to heat up especially in the winter. I can't see how either of these problems would cause the fans not to kick in though Pete
  13. What a confusing car. I presumed from the original post that it was a rear view of the car but now I'm not so sure Pete
  14. Almost 2 years on the forum and only one member definitely spotted...but I've had plenty of waves . The fact is that most owners either aren't interested in joining car forums or don't know that they exist. Add to that those who come here to ask a specific question then vanish, heck, I had mine 3 and half years before I found this forum Pete
  15. Yeah, not bad at all . Those dark rear lights actually look O.K (on a black) but just hang on to your old lights for a while . Colour scheme also meets with my approval . Pete
  16. It's not very often that you get to see the London Met Police on duty around our way. But here they are, escorting The Olympic torch relay Pete
  17. Is this a one off U.K car or has it had a respray? Looks to be a "Brickyard" 2003 only colour but the car is obviously a facelift . TBH I find it very difficult to distinguish Brickyard from Interlagos Pete
  18. Could be a major disaster for EUFA and an even bigger one for FIFA when the world cup is held in Russia. Pete
  19. My dad spent 2 years there working for Shell...he was 62 at the time! He earned megabucks as a refinery manager as a prelude to him retiring, in 1980 he was earning around $7,000 a month! He hated the heat though and rarely left the compound he lived in . Pete

  21. Not really, you need to read up the regulations for each country you plan on visiting. These change all the time, for example in France from July 2012 you need to carry an unused breathaliser kit with you . Many countries require triangles and other bits of kit you wouldn't normally carry around in The U.K. Sweden and Norway require dipped headlights in the daytime and from memory you aren't allowed to smoke whilst driving in those countries either. Pete
  22. Good advice I would also add that if you keep them outside in an area where there are wild rabbits then there's a huge risk of them catching mixy. Even if your hutch and run area are 100% secure, wild rabbits and domesticated rabbits are highly likely to make nose to nose contact through the wire mesh. This is sadly what happened to my pet rabbits a few years ago. My rabbits had been vaccinated for mixy, but it isn't 100% effective and needs to be done twice a year, something I hadn't considered. Pete
  23. The accident in the GP2 race just shows to me how unsuitable this circuit is for modern open wheel racing. You don't really see the most frightening bit till around 2.40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCte8-m-Xqg&feature=related If it wasn't for the fact that this is more of a social meet for the hugely wealthy it would have been scrapped years ago.
