  1. Yep, we are using it up at an ever increasing rate. Saw a documentary about a new oil field that's been discovered in Ecuador, worth billions but right in the heart of a huge nature reserve...it'll take 20 years to get all of the oil out but the most shocking thing was that it will provide just 3 days of oil for the world!! Pete
  2. Yes, 21 around town is spot on. Caroline has an 8 mile drive to work and back of which 4 miles are bumper to bumper driving and she gets 21.6...on the other hand, I rarely go anywhere near towns and manage 26.8. Pete
  3. Hmm, I can't access any of those pages, I keep getting the "Aw Snap" message, wonder if they've reached some sort of daily limit? Pete
  4. Welcome to the forum. 4) They are extremely difficult to get hold of, the ones that come on the market on this forum are snapped up within minutes. I don't think Nissan actually sells them 5) As far as I know they were standard equipment on U.K models at least. The main problem is that the lugs holding them in place break very easily and Nissan will only sell you the entire unit at a completely obscene price, I'm guessing most people just throw them into a dark corner once the lugs snap. 5. Welcome along Took me 3 and a half years Pete
  6. Welcome to the forum As stated white Zed's are extremely rare. In the lower tax bracket there are just a handful of imported Zed's in the country plus a small number of wrapped Zed's. The only U.K white Zeds were from around 2008 and these are also rare. Yellow was only available on the limited edition GT4 although there are a few yellow non GT4 imports knocking around. While red Zed's are not rare they certainly aren't common either, so good luck with the search. I also came over from a Celica, I think there are quite a few on here who followed that route. Pete
  7. Thanks , looks like its just what I'm looking for! Pete
  8. Telemarketing Company, PPI related......lots of complaints about this number. Pete
  9. The problem is that many of these calls are from India or other international countries that are beyond the reach of British justice. Where can I get one of these?....more info please Pete
  10. Welcome Nope, that's an 05 reg so its in the cheaper road tax band . You do have the 276 BHP model but seeing as the later 298 and 309 BHP versions are 75kg heavier then the difference is quite small really. Pete
  11. Yeah, it's one of those defining moments in history. I was at home on that day when Caroline rang me and told me that she'd heard a plane had crashed into the one of the twin towers. I switched Sky News on at 2.00 just as the second plane hit . It's still hard to be believe that those towers just collapsed and even today I find it difficult to watch some of the TV coverage that's available on YouTube. Pete

    Colours

I think Sunset was discontinued when the first facelift came out in early 2006. Temper Orange (also very rare) was introduced for the 313 model in 2007. As far as the facelift goes it certainly improved the interior but it wasn't really earth shattering. It was just a tidying up job, some cosmetic changes and a few minor but useful additions. Seeing as each and every car had to be ordered from a main dealer until late 2006, I would imagine that these were the most popular colours for punters who forked out 30 grand when buying them new Pete
  13. Last time I called Admiral I was put through to Halifax in Nova Scotia , I think The U.K office is in South Wales and closes around 8.00 after that the Canadian phone centre takes over (I think). Pete
  14. Depends on your driving style but my rears were changed at 11k with about 1k of tread remaining, fronts should last a bit longer say in the region of 14-18k Pete
  15. No thanks, a huge A/C bill in the summer and an astronomical heating bill in the winter . Anyway, just like last year it's warming up again, September is the new July Pete
  16. It was just a misjudgement. There was a lot going on, Maldanado jumping the start and The Sauber looking like it was about to catch fire and a very short run into the first corner, a recipe for disaster. I would have just fined him, I think a ban is a bit harsh TBH. Pete
  17. Read this thread first before you order one viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21268&start=0 Pete
  18. If he gets the car to his liking then he is as quick as anyone. His main problem is that he can't get the best out of a not so great car like Alonso or to a lesser extent Hamilton. Probably one of the most interesting dry grids I've seen in a while though! Pete
  19. Not just a full moon, a blue moon Pete
  20. I believe that's Petes brother Pete
  21. It's not just here either, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic states have had real stinkers too, in fact if you draw a line from about a third of the way up France through to Finland then anything North of that line has had a summer just like ours. The culprit is of course the Jet Stream which has refused to play ball and shift to the North of Scotland. The last 4 summers have seen the Jet Stream pushed further and further South with only brief periods of where it should be. The cause?? who knows but there is a school of thought that the melting Arctic ice is pushing colder water into the Arctic Ocean and disrupting the usual summer weather patterns . Pete
  22. Best get it attended to I reckon, my experience of a juddering clutch was not a good one, read on..... I had severe clutch judder on an MG many years ago. The car was brand new and when I complained (several times) the dealer I bought it from made an appointment for me to take it to the main dealer in Chester. After the chief mechanic drove it he said it was "typical" for this particular car so I shrugged my shoulders and carried on, a few weeks later with just 1,500 miles on the clock the clutch "exploded" and was replaced on warranty, together with the entire exhaust which was about to fall off apparently . Pete
  23. Of course, you could take a chance and hope for the best but the interior of the car will require some serious attention (and money) to get it anything like new again, right now it'll be pretty ugly inside the car and fairly smelly too It'll probably need a complete exhaust system as well. For a car worth anything from £17k upwards nor worth risking it. Pete
  24. Very sad indeed. I can remember staying up to watch coverage of the landing and having to go to work the next day. He was great man indeed. Pete
