  1. Nice Zed . All U.K cars have the aero package as standard, it consists of the rear spoiler and a hard to see small chin spoiler under the front bumper. Pete
  2. Getting couriers to find me is my main problem. Here's why. Not much I can do, as I'm the only house down there and as the land is private the council won't touch it. The land owner has cut them back since Google Maps visited us but it'll be back like that again next summer . Pete
  3. Yeah, about a foot as well. Pete
  4. Hmm, I had something very similar to this, car cutting out and missing then running fine for a few days. In the end it turned out that somewhere along the line I had a tank full of petrol contaminated with fine particles of rust. This was a long time ago and not that uncommon back then (as was water in your petrol). I haven't heard of this happening for 30 odd years though as I'm pretty sure that fuel storage tanks are now lined with a non corrosive material, A lot the independent petrol stations back then just had mild steel tanks. Pete
  5. James, That's the worst bit of copying and pasting I've seen in a while Pete
  6. It obviously depends on the individual I guess. Our MyHermes courier is a very pleasant middle aged lady who is very reliable and best of all can actually find my house. Pete
  7. Unless you live in Ontario  . I have to say I've worked my fair share of Christmases. The very first year I worked shifts, I was 18 at the time, I worked Christmas and Boxing Day 2-10 and New Years Eve on Nights. There were 13 of us on our shift and our supervisor allowed 4 of us off on each day. We had a draw and I was the unlucky one to miss out . Not much fun working over Christmas especially when you have young children. Pete
  8. Not on illegal but highly dangerous. You can tell him from me he's an idiot. Pete
  9. I never dreamed that in my lifetime a Brit would win the Tour De France and add to that his other wins this season and his Gold at the Olympics really made him a cert for me. I had Jess in second and Mo in 3rd but this really was an epic year for British sport. If you look back at some of the previous winners then it goes to show just how bad a state we were in just a few years ago. Interesting fact though, no English born winner since 2006. Pete
  10. When continual insurance became law there was initially a degree of leniancy which started with a warning letter. This advice was posted last year on a .gov site. The site I found no longer displays this message so presumably this period has now ended. What will happen if your vehicle doesn't have insurance From the end of June 2011 Insurance Advisory Letters (IAL) will be issued by the Motor Insurers' Bureau to the registered keepers of uninsured vehicles. This will be following a check of the Motor Insurance Database (MID) - the UK's central record of vehicle insurance. The IAL will advise the registered keeper that their vehicle appears to have no insurance and what actions to take to avoid receiving a fixed penalty from DVLA. If a vehicle does not have insurance, the registered keeper could: receive a fixed penalty of £100 have their vehicle wheel-clamped, impounded, or destroyed face a court prosecution, with a possible maximum fine of £1000 Payment of a penalty does not replace the need for motor insurance. Pete
  11. O.K, I now have an update. In general it's good news . We are 99.9% certain that Caroline's job is safe, it does mean that she'll have to travel to a different office once a week, where she'll have to pay a small fee for parking but she's pretty happy to do that. At least we can relax a bit now (and keep her Zed ) Pete
  12. Dave, It seems like Google Chrome has only declared freeimagehosting as a dodgy site today. A quick google search showed that several sites have been hit with this starting this morning. Pete
  13. He can come over as rude at times but he's really a fairly normal bloke. He lives in a house that many on here could afford, drives a 12 year old Golf, doesn't have a trophy wife and dislikes being famous. He runs his kids to school every day, likes a pint or two and has a great sense of humour. And yes, there are many top sportsmen and women who are very down to earth without any trace of arrogance like say Jess Ennis or Paula Radcliffe. Those who showed arrogance through their careers like Ali, Spitz, Carl Lewis, Ovett and Coe or Schummi were actually quite likeable once they retired. Pete
  14. I'm getting a Malware warning from Google Chrome when I try to read The Wales 2013 thread. Something to do with imagehosting I think. EDIT ....I'm also seeing it in other threads too Pete
