  1. I've had a scan through the forum going back quite a while and cannot find which member owned this car. Pete
  2. You could always try removing the DVD from the drive and see if that makes a difference. Pete
  3. I've had mine for 6 years and will probably keep it for a few more years yet. It's the second longest I've owned a car ( I had an Escort RS Turbo for 12 years). Caroline has had her Zed for almost 2 and a half years...doesn't time fly. Pete
  4. Don't worry it'll all hoover up................eventually . Pete
  5. Lots spent.....but no rear LED's Pete
  6. Yeah, here's the link. http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/engine-performance-2002-2006/308434-so-what-differences-vq35de-between-vehicles.html Pete
  7. From another forum Pete
  8. Not sure what to make of it really. Interesting to see what it goes for though. Pete
  9. Welcome along , there's a few of us in the Chester area. Pete
  10. That's right, there is a mere £15 allowance before items are subject to VAT. Pete
  11. Agreed, Caroline buys loads of stuff for her crafting hobby from The States, some $200 plus some $10 or less. She's been hit a couple of times £11 to pay on the last item but mainly pays nothing. Most sellers from the U.S will not send items with an invoice as a "gift". Pete
  12. When we bought Caroline's roadster from the main dealer in Chester (Lookers) not a single member of the sales staff, including the sales manager (who had a 370Z) knew how to get the roof down. They had to go and get a mechanic in the end. Pete
  13. There are several ways to tell the difference at a glance from the outside. Front bumper is the usual give away as the newer ones have 2 slats and a dimple at the bottom, older ones 3 slats and no dimple. Headlights on the pre 06 have an orange stripe down the side. Other external differences are that the 06 models have LED lights on the rear and 07 onwards have a bonnet bulge. Most aftermarket parts will fit all models, the main exception being anything associated with the front bumper (ie lips, spoilers, grilles and reflectors). You will see rear LED's, bulge bonnets and occasionally the newer style headlights on older cars as these are popular upgrades but owners of older Zeds rarely change the front bumper to an 06 version, they are far more likely to buy an aftermarket one. Pete
  14. Have a meg on me Pete Just stick in the post Dave . Pete
  15. That's not what you said in September 2010 . 4th post down. http://www.350z-uk.c... yellow__st__20 Pete
  16. Just checked and our exchange is Infinity enabled and I think the cabinet is at the end of our lane (I'll check that out on Google maps soon). The bad news is that the nearest fibre optic cable is over 4 km's away so unless they put the fibre optic onto the existing telephone poles we have no chance. The only thing I can look forward to is the replacement of a couple of km's of Aluminium cable from the 70's which should give me an extra half meg . Pete
  17. Most of the sad people on here could. Not so easy for new zed people/owners. +1 - unless the poor lad had done a significant amount of homework prior to buying its an easy mistake to make for a less experienced owner OP get your parts up in the for sale section and you shouldn't take too much of a hit Aye, mine is a Jan 2006 registered car that sat in a showroom for 13 months betore I bought it in Feb 2007. I hadn't researched anything really so had no idea what model it was (I was vaguely aware that there had been some changes in 2006 but that's all) Pete
  18. I found it easier to just connect my hi-fi to my PC by cables via the Aux port. Considering my PC is fitted with a generic built in soundcard and my internet is only 3mb it works really well for things like youtube. I can also play music through the hi-fi from any of the PC's including Wi-fI laptops through the router and dual speed hubs I've got setup at home. Pete
  19. Optical illusion no doubt but in the pic with the two of them together the grey one looks much bigger. Not the greatest publicity shot. Pete
  20. On a good day with a tail wind I get 3mb . Pete
  21. I've always thought it was midnight blue but you're correct, night blue it is . Pete
  22. Grey 370Z FY10XXX parked up at The Greyhound in Chester around lunch time today. Also a few cars away was a white 928 . Pete
  23. Actually, there's a lot more to it than you would think. I personally only overtake if its completely safe and if I consider that I'm actually going to make some progress, over the years I've realised the futility of being in a queue of slow moving traffic and trying to leapfrog them one at a time. This is however a really good way to ensure that you max out the number of stonechips on your bumper, stress yourself out ,waste fuel and wear your brakes out . I very nearly came unstuck doing this some years ago when the car 2 in front decided to turn right without signalling. So I tend not to drop down several gears unless I'm passing a tractor or something doing 20 mph. I also don't think its a good idea to overtake a long queue of traffic doing 40-50 mph even on a dead straight road by putting your foot down to the floor and having a 20/30 or even greater mph difference between you and the cars you are overtaking. Self preservation mode kicked in quite a while ago for me . Pete
