Number one is a no no. Number two, not bad actually, better than the original pre facelift lights but as KyleR says would look good in all red. Number three, not seen these before, might look O.K depending on the colour of The Zed but wouldn't be my choice Pete

All the Zeds around our way eventually make it down to ASDA and today was no exception . Spotted this afternoon a very clean and standard Sunset with Rays. Private Reg EEZ 3****, not seen this one before, maybe its the one that's been spotted by Squee and others recently? Pete

Not long to go now . Some interesting news being reported by the BBC and others is that Honda is to return in 2015, once again linking up with McLaren. Other rumours I'm picking up on suggest that 2 major manufacturers are also looking to enter F1 in a couple of years time. One is believed to be Hyundai the other a well known German sports car maker who have recently hired a dozen or so people from within F1 .. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/21655985 Pete

When my mum had to go into a home I had to pay out of my own pocket £1,700 per month to the private home she was in. On top of that I had to fork out for all her sundries and settle all of her bills. I was unable to gain power of attorney over my Mum's finances as she had dementia and her solicitor said that my mum was unfit to sign her affairs over to me. I basically had the choice of paying her bills myself or letting the solicitor deal with it, which I wasn't prepared to do. My mum had a considerable amount of savings and her own house which had to remain empty for 18 months until she passed away. I believe that nursing home costs are in excess of £2,000 a month these days. Pete

Very nice car, headlight washers look like an afterthought though. Pete

Not 100% certain but I think Rays became standard in 2006. I know for a fact that my 2006 Zed had Rays on when I bought it unused (just delivery mileage only) from a dealer in 2007 at a reduced price. I wasn't invoiced for the Rays, but I was for the GT pack. My Zed was registered Jan 1st 2006. Pete

Now I'm really confused. Here is a 2005 (July) U.K roadster for sale, although it doesn't have Rays it is clearly a GT as it has leather and heated seats . http://www.motors.co...61436&imageNo=1 Pete Mine is a 2004 GT without rays and has 6 buttons on the wheel. Yes....but your car doesn't appear to be a roadster . Pete

Arghhh, earlier Zed's don't have a DVD player, they have a CD player and they need the X5 CD disk. Here, take gander at this thread, posted on a U.S 350Z site by a British owner, he posts a picture of the SatNav CD player in his GT4. Anyone contemplating buying any sort of disk with an earlier Zed should take a look behind the seat and see what system is fitted. http://www.350z-tech...-nav-issue.html If your system looks like this ie no buttons then you have The CD version with the remote control.

They just take the whole car these days . Pete

Depends where you live I guess, we've had no new roads built around here for years. My house has been threatened with demolition since 2006 as the Welsh Government decided that the A55 should be widened to 3 lanes, not that I live that close mind you but they needed my land for access. Projections made from 2004 showed that by 2012 the A55 traffic would increase from 50,000 to 70,000 a day. In fact the volume of traffic is now at 43,000 a day, which is roughly what it was in 2000. Unless you live in the affluent south or in my case the affluent South Wales I don't think there'll be much roadbuilding in the near future. Apart from that a bit of research reveals that there has never been an updated CD for the 350Z and you can't just rip the CD out and replace it with a Nissan DVD. Pete

Heated seat buttons moved forward. Blank switch now on passengers side. This shows the console differences. Bose unit has some very slight differences. Fodder, I'll hunt out a pic of a prefacelift GT Roadster, I'm pretty sure they only had 3 buttons. Pete EDIT, My steering wheel controls are different to Caroline's. That may be because the roadster doesn't have Bluetooth? After looking through a few pictures of roadsters it would seem that the switch to 6 buttons took place some time during 2005. I've seen an 05 and definitely a GT advertised with 3 buttons, but I've also seen a 55 reg roadster with 6 buttons.

Also the controlls on the steering wheel lit up on the facelift model, which is a good thing. I think these are 313'S only. Someone here said they were only found on the roadsters but I can't confirm that. Also worth noting that pre facelift GT roadsters only had 3 buttons on the steering wheel. Later ones do have the 6 buttons but I have a feeling that this was another tweak for the 313's but I aint sure about this. Pete

Welcome . There's an 8:11 lap by a Zed here Pete

The switches for the seat heaters were repositioned too, some drivers hit the old ones with their elbows. Facelifts fitted with SatNavs have a different centre console with a recess rather than a cubby lid. Pete

The CD system hasn't been updated for many years, I don't think they were in great demand as Nissan wanted a staggering amount of cash for them, £500 or so. I once saw one that was claimed to be an update on EBay but that was a couple of years ago and it was obviously a copy too. Pete

Joking aside a regular retest would be a good idea. I'd go for 10 years but the expense would probably be horrendous, unless of course they introduce a new tax to pay for it. Pete

Interested to know where/how you leave you Zed parked
JetSet replied to deankenny's topic in 350Z General
Before our road became a cul de sac I used to park up on the drive which is almost flat. One morning I woke up to find my car straddling and completely blocking the lane outside, it had moved about 30 feet. Thinking that there had been an unsuccessful attempt to steal it I dashed out to find it was still locked and in fact I had left the handbrake off, it was a tad windy so a strong gust must have got it rolling. Luckily the lane had almost zero traffic back then. Actually, it's always a good idea to leave it in gear. Some years ago during a very cold winter my mate with a steep drive living on a main road had his handbrake cable snap in the middle of the night (he had an old mini-van) and his car rolled right across the road hitting a neighbours wall. I'm not sure of the exact situation but if they are brought over to the mainland then they'll have to be registered with the DVLA although I think they'll be able to retain the number plate. Not really sure about cars from the Irish republic though. As I understand it foreign cars are supposed to register with The DVLA after 12 months (The Irish Republic may be an exception?) but with the large number of Polish cars in this area, some I've seen have been knocking around for years on Polish plates, this seems to be largely ignored. I'd get an insurance quote first . Pete
