My original Bridgestone rears were barely legal after 10k and I don't really understand why. I can't really imagine anyone being kinder on their tyres than me . My Capri 2.8i had done 19k on the original tyres and still had at least 3k left in them and I've slowed down a fair bit since then.

Good for you!
Got mine in similar circumstances with some 64 miles on the clock (IIRC) in 2009 and the best 'nearly new' car purchase I have ever made
Similar here, mine was a 12 month old display car with 40 miles on the clock, I believe it went out for just two test drives before I bought it, so 16 miles delivery mileage seems about right.

They're in desperate need of a refurb sadly, rims are fine but the central spokes are have corroded really badly. I'm keeping them though and will have them refurbed at some stage.
Pete
I bought those from Ric, they make the car look longer but squatter somehow. They're Team Dynamics BTW.
EDIT, I have to thank SteveM for bringing both these wheels to my attention....Cheers mate
Pete
Yeah, 20's on both cars. The rears on the roadster are massive 11J with 285's. Don't think they'll rub as the previous wheels actually stuck out a bit further. Top Class tyres too .

Spent yesterday and this morning fitting our new wheels. The front on Caroline's will be having some spacers fitted this week as there's not enough gap between the brembos to drive it safely
Pete
Yeah, I agree, the car was made no later than early 2007 and it could have been standing outside in all weathers for 2 years for all we know. Add to that you can get a 58 reg HR for that price its a no brainer really.

That must be the squirrel that gets onto our bird feeders despite the fact we have an expensive squirrel baffle (and I coated the 6 foot high pole in vaseline )
Pete
Could be one of the Irish imports, I think they usually have the GT4 wheels on them.
EDIT, just had a look, it's a facelift 296, must have been standing around for a while unsold I guess. Sometime ago somebody spotted a 296 on 10 plates.
Pete
They're not that rare really, you see plenty of them about but it's true that they don't come up for sale very often. I guess most owners leave them on the car when they sell up?
Pete
Hard to take it in really, just 29 years old. Having met Mark at Wales last year we're both really shocked. Our thoughts tonight will be with his wife and family.

I would think that would be fine mate Buster runs more and is lowered so do I but I don't have standard front wings.
I would but it does depend on the wheel some are thicker than others it also depends on what wheel nuts you use I'd trust steel a lot more than some of the light weight ones if the ammount off thread was reduced.
I have a good selection of spacers . I removed the old wheel ET 35 but left the 20mm spacer on...new wheel stuck out too far!. I then removed the 20mm spacer and stuck on the spacer that came with the wheels, 3mm I think and this combo wouldn't quite clear the Brembos (wheels came off a 370Z which must have a different clearance). So I then dug out some 10mm spacers, cleared the Brembos but wheel nuts wouldn't even make half of the recommended turns.
Pete
Thanks for the quick reply. Hmm, I'd prefer not to have to replace the original studs TBH, so how about 15mm spacers? The offset of the wheel (front) is 30, would 15mm be alright?
