  1. I sold a set to Will370Z for £400, wheels were immaculate but rear tyres were toast, fronts had maybe 4k left on them. Pete
  2. Which jacking point did you use ? Pete
  3. I've just been quoted £105 for removal of tyres then refitting and balancing after the wheels have been refurbed, Found a local company who will refurb my Axis Penta wheels for £190+VAT but they don't have the equipment to remove/fit tyres. Pete
  4. Hmm, I prefer the standard 370Z wheels TBH, presumably you did too . Pete
  5. So smashing into another car and buggering off with no insurance in possibly a stolen car is a low level crime these days . Feel gutted for you Ian, Caroline was distraught when I told her. Pete
  6. I'm getting really depressed with this sort of mindless behaviour, it just seems to be getting worse. Pete
  7. Do you mean The 350Z LMGT4'S for a 370Z ? They'd look pretty ghastly on a 370Z IMHO. Pete
  8. That's a very valid point Dave , do you think they'd look better sprayed to match the colour of the car? Pete
  9. Yeah, I checked out an old set of the dreaded NK's that I have, 81 psi max . Pete
  10. I saw a white one with a largish spoiler turning off the A55 from the direction of Sainsburys towards Wrexham on the Friday before The Wales meet. I followed it at a good distance all the way to Chirk, I thought for a minute it might have been Atkin666 because I knew he was staying in the Chester area prior to The Wales meet, but he had been in the Moreton Car Park for several hours . It must have carried on down the A483 towards Oswestry, a couple of the guys heading up from down south also spotted it. Pete
  11. The reason they closed down was that they were only selling 3 to 4 cars a week back in 2006 and that was before the economic downturn. Can't see anything coming from this. Pete
  12. On the other hand, the fact that many people are still using phones when driving and managing to not stick the car into a ditch Pity Cozy Powell couldn't manage it, he was one of my favourite drummers . Pete
  13. Hmm, always thought that JDM imports didn't have headlight washers and what are those square holes by the washers? Pete
  14. Looks like something out of Mad Max . Pete
  15. Yes............ Pete
  16. If we look at what's proposed, Mobile phone and seat belts are just an upward increase in fines so no change there. There isn't a current offence of tailgating but it comes under careless driving right now. As before, the police will have to stop you and issue you with a ticket and instead of having to go to court you will get a fixed penalty notice...as in any motoring offence you can if you wish go to court. In cases of tailgating, the police will have to have evidence they won't be able to just stop you and issue you with a ticket without photographic/film evidence. What constitutes tailgating? don't know but I would imagine the same rules will apply that are in force now for careless driving. Lane Hogging is a new law and as such I'm pretty certain there'll be a 12 month period in which they'll pull drivers over and tick them off without issuing a ticket. When the seat belt law came in in the early 80's, no one got a ticket for a while, same as when mobile phones were banned a few years ago. We really need more info on what the authorities class as lane hogging...20 seconds, a minute, or longer , I'm sure they'll tell us eventually. Pete
  17. Happy birthday Chris . Pete
  18. . Those sort of people don't care about fines either, they never pay them . Jeez, you must move in different circles to me, I'm only allowed to draw out £200 . Can't answer that but there are currently 13,000+ drivers banned under the totting up procedure and a further 55,000 convicted of drink driving and an unknown number who've been banned for other offences by magistrates. True, but that applies in all walks of life, not just motoring offences. Pete
  19. I know this sounds crazy but go to a decent sports doctor and get your legs measured. My problems were all down to my legs being of unequal length, 5/8 of an inch difference in fact. This was causing me to favour my right leg and causing pain on the left hand side of my lower back and into the buttock and down my leg. My doctor didn't spot this, neither did the NHS physio or the private one I visited. Sports doctor spotted almost it straight away, had another doctor come and accurately measure my legs, made me an insert (which I still use) and problem was gone in about a month. That was in January 1989 and in April that year I ran the London Marathon and no problems since. Pete

This is the one I have. http://www.maplin.co.uk/wireless-tyre-pressure-monitoring-system-390208 Now down to £79. Pete
  21. The points system works pretty well and is fair to both rich and poor. Personally, I'd rather get idiots off the road than fill the coffers, it could save my life one day, maybe even yours. Pete

  23. Yes, the guy who fitted my boiler has just been done for the 4th time for using his mobile phone . Some people aren't getting the message and IMHO the deterrent isn't tough enough. I'd like to see 4 points instead of 3 and a punitive sliding scale of fines, first time £250, second time £500, third time £1,000 and a 12 months ban. Anyone caught texting should get 6 points and a £500 fine. Pete
