  1. Got both the Zeds for around £700 from Sky, Admiral wanted around £1130 this year, £750 for the roadster alone. I'm now paying roughly the same as when I bought the Zed in 2007. Pete
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2351885/Censored-Hundreds-bad-taste-number-plates-including-bonk-bum-se-sent-scrapheap.html Number plates have been censored for donkeys years, even in the 50's when number plates were 3 letters and 3 numbers, they issued EUK and GUK but nothing in between . I'm sure there were several others as well. Pete
  3. Studs are cheap enough but it's the nuts I'd be concerned about. You can't just bung any old nuts on, you need low profile nuts. I bought some off Alex to replace ones that I'd damaged and they're not cheap, not cheap at all. Pete
  4. Most of them occurred when I was mowing my Dad's lawn using a petrol mower. It must be the smell of hydrocarbons that annoys them. We had several pear and apple trees in the garden plus there were at least two swarms of bees in the cavity walls of my dad's house. I once got 5 stings in a day and a sting on my eyelid the day before I got married, plus one on the top of my head for good measure . Last one I got was when I took a bath and a bee must have landed in my undies.....ouch! Luckily, I've never had a Horsefly sing, I believe they are really nasty. Pete
  5. I rarely get insect bites, either that or my skin doesn't react to them. It might be an old wives tale but I believe fair skinned people like me aren't targeted by insects as much as darker skinned people. The last time Caroline and I went to The States I picked up a number of Deer Fly bites, Caroline had 10 times as many....just saying. The only exception for me would be bee and wasp stings I've probably had a couple of hundred over my life time . Pete
  6. I don't get the £500 depreciation bit. I don't know long you planned to keep your Roadster but if you take the average of 2 years ownership then you're talking £12k depreciation . Don't get me wrong, but the longer you keep the car then the less it goes down in value for example I've had my Zed for 6 and a half years, even if it was worth Zero today my depreciation would have been £340 a month. We bought Caroline's 313 roadster which I believe to be similar to your Zed for £17950 some 3 years ago and if we look at a value of around 10k today (it's only done 17,000 miles) then we've lost about £220 a month. Monaro Vxr

Have a word with Lexx, he had a Monaro. Pete
  8. As long as you don't damage the paintwork removing the OEM spoiler then there shouldn't be a problem. The OEM spoiler is bonded on and over the years there'll be a build up of grit and general gunge that will have found its way underneath the spoiler. The garage that fitted mine used a screwdriver to remove the old one, damaging the paintwork and putting a couple of small dents in the bodywork. They also damaged the burger badge by using it as a base to lever the old spoiler up, although they did fix it all up in the end. My spoiler is also a replica and a very good fit, I bought it from Alex but one of the bolts was about 2/3mms out of position so you may have to drill one of the pre drilled holes out to get it to fit square on. Pete
  9. There were several Nismo editions of the 350Z but they were never sold in The U.K. Back in 2005 The S-Tune Nismo was announced for The U.K market at £50,000, Nissan brought one over for the journalists to test drive but nothing was ever heard of it again although it was sold in Japan and The U.S and I don't know of any that were imported. They were nothing special really, 296 engine and lots of tweaks here and there but difficult to justify a 20k premium over a GT. The 380RS (around 340 bhp)was a very limited production model, only 300 made and only sold in Japan and I believe that for some reason they couldn't be imported due to U.K regulations (although I did hear that at least one did find it's way over here). 11. Welcome to the forum . Whereabouts in Cheshire are you? I'm just over the border in North Wales and there are a few other active members dotted around Chester/Wrexham/Deeside. Pete

    Tyre Sizes

No, the tyres aren't stretched . Pete
  13. King Anglesey doesn't sound right somehow . Royals usually give their kids 3 forenames for some reason and they always stick to a tried and tested pattern established centuries ago, so probably James Henry Charles or something like that . Pete

    Tyre Sizes

Tyre sizes on 10J and 9J , you're looking at 275/40/19 or 275/35/19 and 245/40/19. With an ET of 24 , I think 15mm's would be more suitable. BTW, until recently I ran 275/30 and 245/35's on 10J and 9J (but on 20" rims) with no problems. Pete
  15. That was my first thought but once I'd seen them on a couple of Zed's I changed my mind. They are a straight fit but you have to be a bit careful with the plastic tabs that cover the nuts, they're very easy to snap off. Pete
  16. You should ask if anyone here wants to swap . Pete
  17. Last time I got one was in 1980, just over £700, probably 4k in today's money. Pete
  18. This is how a promotional car should look . Pete
  19. One of those was an L3 service though . Pete
  20. Well, for a start the roadster is heavier than the coupe so there's one or two MPG down the drain. Next, the CD is considerably higher, it's 0.34 compared to the coupe at 0.30, at motorway speeds say 75 that's got to be at least another 2 MPG, maybe more? That obviously doesn't account for all the missing MPG but I know Caroline's roadster only gets an overall average of 21.1 (and I do around 50% of the driving in that car) compared to my coupe's 26.1.
