  1. Wasn't there a couple of pics posted here recently of a slammed light blue Zed, one at a show and another taken after he hit some sort of small bump in the road which literally tore the front end off the car? Pete
  2. Caroline runs 20's one size smaller than yours on the rears and one size larger on the fronts, no problem....285/30/20 and 245/35/20. Pete

    Fuel caps

    Yes . http://vangadgets.co.uk/UK/fuel-tank-petrol-cap-cover-aluminium-cobra-nissan-350z-2003-2006-nis2701.html Pete
  4. Reminds me of when Caroline sprays my socks, can held at arms length, look of disgust on her face . Pete

    Fuel caps

    Something like this? Pete
  6. A lot of that 30bhp is negated by the extra weight, it's 75 kgs, a bit like carrying a passenger. 0-60 times will vary considerably depending on the driver too, an expert will know exactly the revs and clutch release speed, he or she will know the precise moment to change gear. If you look at the claimed figures they suggest a 0-60 time of either 5.7 or 5.9, just depends which review you read. If you read some of the road test reviews, ie those magazines who have actually taken the Zed to a track and accurately measured the 0-60 using calibrated equipment then the times vary from 5.3 to 6.2 and anything in between. I would suggest that on an average road using road tyres and half a tank of fuel only a few of us would break 6.5 seconds. It's not just The Zed though, I looked at performance figures for some of the cars I've owned in the past and they vary considerably. Pete
  7. Isn't that a pedestrian walkway? Could get removed/clamped or damaged by pedestrians attempting to squeeze through . Pete
  8. That's a Bald Eagle, quite a fearsome beast! Pete
  9. They're roadster seats I think mate. Roadster seats have 2 control buttons on the passenger side, those seats only have one. Pete
  10. And I thought the litter was bad around here . Pete
  11. Hmm, for some reason this car doesn't have rear LED's which being a facelift it should have. Pete
  12. The Tickford Turbo Capri was the one to have, but even that had only 190 bhp and it cost well over 20 grand in the mid 80's. I think the iconic RS Sierra only had just over 200 bhp and even when I looked into getting a second hand one in the late 80's insurance was close to a grand and I was 40 at the time with max no claims . Pete The Capri to have, which was very rare was the RS 280T only 200 built for homoligation to Group 5 racing, I had No 188 of the 200... Never heard of that one. I know that less than 100 Tickfords were built and that Turbo Technics built a number of semi official Capri 2.8's. There was also an RS2600 and an RS3100 but The RS 280T is a new one on me. Any pics? Pete

  14. It's amazing how times have changed, my first proper sports car a Triumph GT6 did the 0-60 dash in 11.1 seconds and I think The MGB took around 14 seconds. The E-Type V12 which probably cost at least 4 times the average salary back then was something like 6.3 seconds which was considered to be incredibly rapid. Looking at some of the cars I owned in the 80's and 90's I think only The Capri 2.8i and the RS Turbo would squeeze in just under the 8.0 seconds mark. Pete
  15. Caroline runs 11's on the rear on 285's, this is on standard suspension with no rubbing, I believe Keyser runs 11.5's but I don't know what his setup is. Pete
  16. It may well be worth a fortune but it's hideous, but yeah, I can see why its so rare . Pete
  17. Hmm, MX5, Lotus Europa, Fiat X1/9, Triumph GT6, MR2 Turbo.... Cars I've had a ride in but never driven, Lotus Elan, Mini Cooper S of 1968 vintage. Most unusual car I've ever driven (for all of 5 miles) an Austin Princess Vanden Plas with a 4 liter Rolls Royce engine. Pete
  18. You can pick up a Cayman S on an 07 plate for around 15k which is within budget. Similar performance to The Z4M , more presence on the road, the only downside would possibly be the running costs. Pete
  19. Quite a few on here have come from MR2's, we used to have an MR2 turbo from 1998-2002. Pete
  20. I bought a set of wheels from a guy who traded in his Zed for a Z4M. He could have been unlucky but the car had been off the road for long periods due to electrical problems. At the end of the day though they've got about 30 bhp more than an HR and are half a second quicker to 60, you really need something like TVR if you want any significant performance increase. Pete
  21. Just amazing really. http://news.sky.com/story/1130947/vintage-chevy-sale-at-time-capsule-showroom Pete
  22. A 10 year old import for that amount with a Meccano spoiler . Pete
  23. Unless I'm missing something, the basic model is $57k , a basic 370Z is $28k or so . Nice motor though. Pete A 370z I saw was $64K .CAD Admittedly fully specced, but still the base Stingray would be better equipped. Yeah, I misread the basic price it's actually $52k and a fully loaded 370Z is $38k so not a big a difference as I first thought. It's also Considerably cheaper (and faster) than The Cayman S which is $63k. Pete
