If you get done for speeding, from a camera, even in a rental they do chase you for the fine in this country. They employ a debt colection agency to chase you and take you to court if you ignore their notices. My mate tried the ignore bit only to find a court sommons because he thought he could get away with it. Had a few months at my sisters in Melbourne and as what has been previously stated they do enforce driving offences with a vengeance. Great country though.

I've done 3 plates this year and if you use the post it will take between 7-14 days. You just need to take this into account when selling or buying, never used the local DVLA but clearly from these post that should speed things up.
