  1. It's just the way they're built, some photo's in this thread: http://www.r8talk.com/forums/49-wheel-tire-discussion/8123-michelin-pilot-supersport-awesome.html A lot of tyres have the same thing but they don't protect the rims 100%... you're better off just parking further away from the curb or getting those plastic inserts you can get to go in between the alloy/tyre.
  2. Anyone got some links to Alpines that fit in place of the OEMs?
  3. Art red calipers go on mine on the 14th.
  4. I highly rate my AD08s if you can't find MPSSs in your size.
  5. I reckon F1 tyres have better grip than MPSSs, personally I'll stick with my AD08s though.
  6. Are you saying that he didn't do his signature nice so he will have to do it a second time?
  7. Grow a pair and take it to the next level that engine is crying for Or follow GT4's example and take it to the max I thought he took it to 0?
  8. I've been trying to think of a way to add a tow hook on a chargespeed without it looking wierd for a while, maybe this will let me show off my exhaust and have a tow hook.
  9. Christ don't put her in Keysers car, she'll never let you do it! And I doubt you'll get her in Bennet's, there's a rumour that his engine blew up! Darren's would be a good choice though.
  10. Which '2 is it? We have a Mk2 Tubby for track use which sadly is much quicker than my Z on track.
  11. Congrats on the new purchase, tbh my Mum drives an SLK and I find them really loose to drive as if the steering wheel isn't connected to the car at all, but just like some of the mods people do to their Zs on here, if you like it then that's all that matters.
  12. Yes, there was still a bit of snow around... in July! It was rather high up.
  13. Is that the reputation of a guy who can't figure out the quote tags?
  14. "Christ that stain will never come out... better write it off!" ?
  15. WTF? You can see the 2 lorries miles before he decides to start braking! If he'd started braking even a little bit further away he could have probably fit in that 60m gap between the car and the lorry on the left and used the hard shoulder as a bit of run off safely, he probably could have done that at that speed anyway!
  16. I have these, the only problem I found is that they're ever so slightly darker than the standard Rays colour... last time I got my wheels refurbed I asked them to match the alloys to the caps (yeah tar, I know), but they obviously ignored me and just did the alloys the standard colour again.
  17. The plenum spacer (for pre HR cars, if it's got 2 intakes it's a 07 onwards HR) is a non-question really, for the £150 ish to buy and a 30 minute fit for something proven to give gains? Just do it. Do a search for Wasso's plenum spacers on here, probably the sexiest ones around and a good price. BTW, the K&N typhoon will actually lose you a couple of horses, however you probably won't notice the power loss so if it sounds better a lot of people think it's worth it. The best results for power is the standard air box with a better filter, with a vortex thingy (someone must have the link and proper name for what I mean!) added inside the air box if the car doesn't have that as standard.
  18. I drove all the way from Chester to Brands Hatch in Kent with the roof down in mid summer in my Triumph Spitfire eons ago. Set off at twilight and by the time I reached the outskirts of London it was light again. Memories . Pete I just drove to Italy and back taking the "scenic" route through Switzerland (think I crossed the Swiss/Italy border about 10 times in a day!)... don't think I would have bothered in a coupe, being able to look up at the mountains and take in the fresh air while flying through the mountain twisties... priceless!
  19. Agreed, I have driven a few convertibles, none that im proud of, but for me its driving at night with the roof down, and ive no idea why I just find driving a coupe or with the roof up kinda clostraphobic these days, let me drive in the elements.
  20. Get a plenum, air filter and new exhaust first, will make more of a difference. Unless it's a HR, then don't bother with the plenum spacer. Also, HFCs or Decats + a better y-pipe is all that's needed for the exhaust. plenum space still improves torque in the pre Rev Up engines so is worthwhile

  22. While the consensus was not to get that exact roadster, to answer the general question "Roadster, Yes or No?" - I've gotta put in a big YES from me.
  23. They're usually on e-bay but haven't been the last few times I checked, maybe the guy who makes them has stopped doing it?
  24. OMG it's going to be like Alex but with a website that accepts credit cards??? Where are my scissors quick!
