  1. From this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36806795 Ermmm, are the priests trying to attract kids again?
  2. I'm quite glad I had to google that! Actually, I'm kind of tempted to download Pokemon just to see what all the fuss is about.
  3. I think I just broke the scroll wheel on my mouse.
  4. I just heard the best reason yet as to why Boris was appointed foreign secretary, apparently Theresa May wrote F. Off next to his name and someone misinterpreted it.
  5. I'm don't want to get involved in the dispute, but to save you time on the phone, see answer 18: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/429300/bis-13-1368-consumer-contracts-information-cancellation-and-additional-payments-regulations-guidance.pdf Also the "returning faulty goods" (faulty covers not as described items) section of the Consumer Contracts Regs (which replaced distance selling in 2014) described by Which here: http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-contracts-regulations p.s: sorry.
  6. Motorsport Nismo also uses the VK56DE for FIA GT1 racing. In race trim, it produces 600 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.[5] The Nissan Motorsport VK56DE was launched in Australia for the V8 Supercars Championship in 2013 by Kelly Racing in Melbourne. The engine has been reduced in capacity to 4,990cc to fit the V8 Supercars regulations. It has a bore and stroke of 102.69mm x 75.31mm. It will be fitted to a Nissan Altima version of the V8 Supercars "Car of the Future" specification that will compete from 2013 onwards.[6] From: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VK_engine#VK56DE
  7. I can't decide if I'm watching an episode of Spitting Image or if it was actually a strike of genius. Surely by giving BoJo the job she's just sent a message to Europe saying "yes, we really are leaving, stop hoping we'll remain after all and start making deals!". Also, as most of London voted remain and they liked him as mayor shouldn't it appease Londoners a bit?
  8. Am I reading that right? He's getting ~350BHP from the 5.6L V8? It hardly seems worth the effort! According to that Wikipedia page the engine is used in some Nismo race cars producing ~600bhp though.
  9. I would've thought that if the money was legally left to you then you could just go to the bank and ask to withdraw it? However, it sounds complicated considering it's off shore money etc... do you even know where the money is held?
  10. £5500 for a V8 conversion?? Sounds like a bargain! What V8 is it? A 1980s Rover jobby?!
  11. OOOH just had another idea. We might not have enough people who can regularly attend for the full race series, so we could group up to split costs. Say we had 8 races a year, you could split the costs ways for 4 races each etc... and the fun bit... we could ask other car forums to take part! It would add to the competition factor.
  12. Sure, we'll make the budget £5k so you can't compete on performance instead.
  13. After going to the Ring with Bennett this weekend, I can confirm nothing can come close to this car. The GTR is in a league of its own! as in Gordon Bennett? As in GordonT4Zed Bennett.
  14. Maybe anyone interested could all go out and buy a car for < £500, then book several forum only track days and create our own mini series?
  15. He's paid for X, if they haven't delivered X then they haven't completed their side of the deal regardless of any arguments around their mistake of accidentally delivering Y instead. It would be the same situation as ordering something and never receiving it, either they send you the item you've paid for or you try and get your cash back directly or via CC company/paypal etc.
  16. If you knew dealers, wouldn't you say "to above Nissan standards"??
  17. Her comments earlier about putting Conservatives 'at service' of working people and wanting to put employees on companies boards of major firms is interesting... I'd expect those kind of noises to come more from the Labour camp than the tories... "New Tory" maybe?
  18. I guess judging her against previous PMs might be an idea considering the complete lack of direct competition at present.
  19. Hopefully this won't go the same way as the Brexit thread... Yay or Nay? EDIT: Added a third choice based on this: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/07/11/theresa_may_teresa_may_twitter_fail/
  20. I used the AA years ago, my MR2 had stopped working over night, the guy turned up, put the key in and had it ticking for 5 minutes until my throttle cable was smoking! The earth strap had a bad connection so the current was finding the next best ground... all that needed doing was cleaning the earth strap connections but the guy had to tow my car to a local garage - useless! That was quite a few years ago mind. Never had a problem with RAC, they've been pretty solid when I've needed them. Not sure if it's still the same, but the AA didn't include vehicle recovery following an accident where as the RAC did. If that's still the case I'd decide on that alone, the last thing you want after bending your pride and joy is another bending on the financial side for towing your car somewhere safe. No idea about green flag or others, you'd like to think they've got so much competition trying to break in to the AA/RAC space that they'd go above and beyond to do it... but then I guess less customers means less money so maybe they can't.
  21. I'm hoping that is sarcasm! Nope! For example, around the Arc de Triomphe the traffic to the right (joining the roundabout) has priority... it makes no sense to me!
  22. I still can't find a good reason for the French method of people joining the roundabout have priority, surely that just creates gridlock on the roundabout rather than keeping it flowing? Odd...
