Hi guys& girls after a long search, nearly 12 months I have found and secured my dream Z. She’s a 54 in Kuro Black with Tan leather so a UK GT car. Done 31K miles with a list of mods !!!

 

I live in Exeter , Devon any other members down this way would love to get involved in the Z scene locally.

 

Now all I need is a recommendation on a good independent in or around Exeter to look after it for me. Used the Engine Tuner in Plymouth before just a fag to go down and back each time.

Some basic question for the great and good amongst you:-

 

1. What is a good bolt on kit on the UK market and what sort of money am I looking at?

2. Do any second hand ones come up from time to time?

3. Should the engine internals be replaced to higher spec before running any boast from charger?

 

Yes I realise I will need a new bonnet as well.

Does the 350 become almost un-drivable with this sort of power?

Hi anyone got any feedback as to what may have caused a gearbox failure on a 350, syncomesh has gone on 5th although I suspect others are weak as well. Is this a weak point on 350s? Car has done low miles on a 54 plate 2005 car, with full service history.

What’s the best way forward look for a second hand box or repair the existing one?

Hi all sorry to show my ignorance but what does a Carbon fibre bonnet look like on the under side saw one recently and it looked like glass fibre to me or is that how it should look on the unfinished side. Or was this a cheap fake masquerading as Carbon Fibre.

I see some poor sod has brought it will they never learn, or was it one of you guys in which case good luck.

Hi all apart from what’s been said already I would offer this. A great many on hear will have cut there teeth and grown up on front wheel drive in fact apart from BMW just about every main stream car manufacturer only does front wheel drive. Forgetting all the obvious differences in style and one being cool and the other being a FORD.

Until you have driven RWD and pushed it through some bends on a B road you will never know how rewarding or how much of a rush it can be. What I am really trying to say is the cars are and will be so different due to the drive train and that’s were you need to start your thinking from.

To make matters worse I see the advert has not been changed to reflect the change of engine or the true mileage at 60K not 27, somebody is going to get caught

Having to do the deal from a distance never good but its what you have to do with specialist cars. Just about to hand over deposit via Debit card, checked out Cat D issue OK. Did HPI and mileage does not stack up. Phone dealer back a he says engine changed at Japtech at 27K miles with new clocks mileage is actually more like 60K plus a new engine I did not know about.

Sorry guys I realise this will have been asked a million times before, how do I post pictures to the forum, I have searched and cannot find any help. Yes I know!

Been looking now on and off for about 6 months, and I just cannot find a car that fits my bill. Looking to spend between 8-9 k for a nice 04-05 coupe. I do not want a roadster handling issues and water leaks just **** me off.

 

I hate Rays Alloys the most hideous wheels I have seen on any car, but apart from that up for anything really. Ideally would like a Blue GT, but they are as rare as rocking hoarse pooh!

Must say some really odd pricing going with Zs at the mo I have seen 2003 cars up for as much as 2005 are you guys nuts or what. Scooby owners appear to have a much better handle on the worth of their cars, maybe Z are more individual.

 

Been looking on Piston h, flea bay, aut t, any other places I could look, and no rude suggestions please?

Hi Mate if it helps I have had both cars coming from a WRX wagon to an WRX STI with mods and then a 350Z JDM with mods, zurst and alloys. I can honestly say they both are great cars, although to compare them is not really fair. One is a road going rally car with a turbo. The other is a civilised proper sports car with rear wheel drive.

 

If I was to give you a clue I am now looking to get back into a Z, Scooby is way to much a Rodney car these days, sorry guys but too many dick heads driving them now. I certainly would not swap for a WRX unless you need the space!

The reason I ask is that I have seen one on Pistonheads being advertised as a Turbo and like u guys did not think Nissan ever made a production version, so was wondering if it was or was not. Turns out it’s a Fairlady and the guy says its states Turbo on the V5 so that’s what he is calling it bit misleading if you ask me.

 

And yes I am in the market for a Z would prefer azure blue if poss budget is around 9 K

Does a JDM version with a Turbo exsist or is this a UK mod only ?

Right or wrong decided that I couldn’t go any longer without a weekend toy.

Trouble is I have found two that I like and before any wise ass say by both.

 

One is chilli red a 2004 import with 31K miles.

The other a GT spec UK azure blue with 48 and FSH

 

Both about the same money just cannot decide.

Before anyone asks I have stepped out of a Subaru WRX STi deciding that looks and style over performance would suit me more at the tender age of 54!!!!

Beware all I see this car is for sale again now although its up in the North East.

Just got to the bottom of the story on the car, its has been written off, however in Northern Ireland. It then came to England so its a UK car. The info I wish to share is that any cars history stays in Ireland and the agencies in both Ireland and the England do not talk to each other. Needless to say I will not be buying.

So the concensus is walk away fast ? Have added an interior shot as asked, however the link to the add,shows the same. Personnaly gutted as loved the car.

Do you think its an UK car or an import

Anyone have any thoughts on this car going to buy it, HPI check shows a cat C write off, Seller says it was a private plate that had the history recorded against it. This does not make sense to me, as I run the check on the reg number. He says its not and DVLA have no record of the car having been written off?

If a BCM unit has been water damaged how much water would it take? Were it located inside the car I assume passenger side dash? I gather they can be very expensive to replace, how expensive. Could such a failure be down to leaving the roof down on a rainy night?

 

Symptoms, roof operates fine but intermittently, indicators, immobilizer the same

Thinking of upgrading the seats in the Z (PAIR BLACK FAUX LEATHER RECLINING SPORTS BUCKET SEATS) found these on flea bay they come with sliders but not the brackets ,would I be better to save me money as I am heading for huge issues and problems. Supplied by EnergizedCustoms2
