  1. i cant slag off Japspeed too much, there customer service is good to a point i guess, i emailed them and was getting responces within 5 minutes. And there willing to give me a full refund. So i need to find a better exhaust, better fit, better quality, more loud (well just nice an loud) no big rear silencers, like K2, scorpion etc. Buddyclub looks good. but does anyone have some pictures of it fitted? or any other exhaust recommendations. (preferably a pic too so i can see what it looks like) Thanks
  2. I fitted a K1 onto my car last week, the fit was poor, i can forgive that as i knew about the fitment in the first place, BUT they both sit too near the middle of the bumper (i.e. left exhaust sits too far to the right) this is causing massive rattling inside the car and will eventually melt the bumper. So i spoke to Japspeed, they say its a problem with my bumper mouldings, so first question is, can a couple of people please measure there rear bumper from inside edge of each exhaust hole (the shortest distance between the 2 holes) I want to check mine is correct. That then leads onto if mine is incorrect theres no point changing the K1 as all exhausts will fit wrong, if mine is okay, i can send the K1 back. Thus meaning i want a new exhaust system. What can i get for up to £600 (be nice if it had Y pipe but not gunna happen i know) that is similar to the K1 but better quality and fit etc, I like the loudness of the K1, so dont want a system with a massive rear silencer to shut it up. I like the loudness Any Ideas, thanks for your help. pic of how the japspeed sits, note how they pull into the middle of the bumper.
  3. just noticed, your location... Milton Keynes lol
  4. afraid it wasnt me you from bletchly then?
  5. but in that case you'd need 040's for the rear aswell. ESP doesnt like mismatched tyres. I should know! goes mental on me at the minute, avons and 040's suck together, Falken all round for me soon
  6. im tempted, whats the reatil and what you looking for? (i am such a newbie i didnt realise these clear clusters were genuine nissan )
  7. if they have some life left then keep them i guess, unless your tight for space, then no point as tyres arent the nicest thing to look at. Go on then you twisted my arm, give em to me
  8. is all of this new? if not what mileage has it done?
  9. Y pipe is a seperate section that joins the 2 manifolds to a single pipe, hence Y pipe as it is abit like a Y shape, You can fit a Japspeed Y pipe, or keep the standard one if thats what you have, Alot of the standard off the shelf systems i have seen run a single mid pipe, if thats the case it will bolt to either Y pipe. I have a K1 too, Love the sound, not so keen on the look, proberly becasue the cars not that modded so it sticks out. Im looking into coilovers and new wheels. So may blend in more once i have done few bits.
  10. Ive not been on this forum long, but i feel like the poorest guy on here lol. I had to save and sell things like crazy just to buy a 53 plate 350z. And there is you lot with Ferrari's, GTR's or highly modded 350z's (which aint cheap to mod). Anyway, lovely car, definatly get the exhaust, standards good, but tubi's are much better, guy came in to where i use to work for tyres, and he had the exhausts, Is there such thing as love at first hear?
  11. Photoshop i did the day i bought the 350z (couple of weeks ago) The middle bit on the bumpers paint is flaking so i need to paint it, so colour code or go black? Also trying to find so new wheels, something a bit different to the normal common wheels like rota's, want something with a dish front and rear, obviosuly bigger on rear. Size wise, 19x9 fronts ET20/25 and 19x10.5 rears ET20/25. any ideas?
  12. out f the 3 id happily stick witht he zed, rx8 would be last, love the rx7 for its mentalness, rotary twin turbo! but just a normal very un fuel efficient, costly, oil burning, service happy rx8 i havnt owned one, but i know people who have and they were very disappointed with them. So who was leaving who behind on the roads
  13. bloody hell, that really how much they go for. although i am very tempted...
  14. £1000 for the bumper, that doesnt suprise me, but the £50 for a wash, machine polish and wax comment! they must be right cowboys, a machine polish is more than a 10 minute job, to get any sort of decent results it takes a days work to do. (just look at my detail thread, took me a day and a half!)
  15. love it! love this car, i was parked next to you last year at modifed nationals in the max area in my orange escort couldnt stop looking at your 350z, now i finally own one too
  16. good quality carbin fibre should have a UV resistant coat on them, but alot of cheap stuff uses marine gels which are not very good or long lasting for automotive use (moral of the story, buy quality carbon items)
  17. i have to say you are way off the mark, everyone has different opinions on this type of cleaning. Some do what i do and some like to just wreck there paint by using a sponge and a bucket. inflicting swirl marks which in turn reduces the paints shine and so on. You think id do this type of clean offen? no chance, id do it once a year if not less. This 'detail' was not just to clean it, it was a paint correction, removing tar, industrial fall out, tree sap, then removing swirls, marring, micro marring, light scratches and reducing any deeper scratches. Im not fussed about a bit of dirt from day to day driving, like you say its never going to stay 100% clean, but because now i have a good layer of quality wax between the fully cleansed paintwork (which is completely smooth)and the atmosphere the dirt cannot stick to the paint and bed in like on most cars. meaning while your there scrubbing your car to remove dirt (causing yet more damage to the paintwork), i can literally rinse the dirt off. Meaning i can avoid rubbing the car much with a washmitt, which means paintwork stays flawless for longer, then all i do is every couple of months, add another layer of wax, and every 6 months re clay and wax. Then yearly i guess id possibly do this level or correction. Problem with running some polish around your car off the forecourt is, the polish wont last long at all, its sat on top of un-prepped paint rough paint with dirt and contaminents stuck into the paintwork. You may not notice the level of work i did on a silver car, but if it was black you'd notice it, plus i could have then shown you what i really did with the aid of 50/50 shots etc such as: In short, i did a paint correction, clean and paint work protection.
  18. id only be worried about the lightweight tuner nuts cracking, due to them being internal drive the side walls on them are rather thin, so you cant put more than id say 70 ft lb through them with out risk of them cracking. 70ft lbs wouldnt hold a pen up straight let alone wheels on a 280+ bhp zed (or in my mates case near on 500bhp evo III) external drive (socket type) nuts we have never seen a problem where i work. As there's alot more metal to them. As for discounts, No harm in asking the boss i guess. Like you said, alot of people on here and any jap forum would only go with high end branded names, so i havnt thought of posting a possible discount up. I had a set on my scooby, and they saved me 890g over the standard ones, thats nearly a kg weight loss just on swapping nuts lol. If you were seriously interested in a price, i'm sure i can find out for you, just let me know what colour you want and with or without lockers? We also do different coloured steel nut, so basically there not lightweight, but mega strong like oem are, same capped design as the oem nuts are but anodised, red, black, blue and even gold plated! As with the light weight ones, i havn't managed to chip one yet lol and again i deliberatly tried too. Steel ones are really cheap actually, but no anodised steel lockers are currently not availible.
  19. ah i see. TPI is a brand Its not cheap ebay crap, they have been around a while but not very long in this country, so where i work became the UK importer of them, All i can say is, brands dont mean anything! Just a license to print money in my opinion. Mate of mine had Ultralite Tuner nuts on his evo, he so far has had about 9 out of 16 of them crack, resulting in them needed drilling off the wheel. needless to say the wheels are now damaged too! They may cost more than most but i dont think you will get much better quality. If any better quality. Give it a couple of years and TPI will be up there i reckon. Anyway back on topic, i reckon they will stick out of standard rays wheels,
  20. i was going to start a thread the other day asking this, I was led to believe my car didnt have an esp button i could switch off when i first got the car, then last week (only couple of days into owning the 350) i found the ESP button under the steering wheel on the dash. Turned it off had a go, bit of fun, back on it went lol. Nice to know its there but i tend to just leave it on, unless i take my brave pills before i go out.
  21. wheres the locker on that? Just looks like a groove cut in it too me, means a socket can still undo them. If your worried they will stick out too far but also want a colour nut that can act as a good locker then try these. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TPI-lightweight-a ... 56372c5a6e combined with these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TPI-lightweight-a ... 45ef5c9ad4 ignore the fact there on an ebay shop (the proper shop for there website is still being made). they are very very good quality, i should know, i work evenings for that comapny, i had to organise them all at work lol. dropped a few on a concrete floor once and they just dont mark! Very lightweight and strong, and you can get either 20 standard or 16 standard and 4 lockers and you know they wont stick out too far happy days lol
  22. mine a early 2004 UK GT and mine has one, as above i thought they all had them.
  23. Subtle! Terry mate, can i be a pain and ask you to list the cleaning products used and where you got them from? I need to get myself some decent cleaning kit and who better to ask after the effort you put in! Very nice!! Cheers Chris ummm... Basic list for what you would want as a cleaning kit, not just to clean it like this once, but to keep it clean and also not to introduce any further swirls or scratches into your paint work. start with- pre wash: Pressure washer Snow Lance (i think the best about is Autobrite) Snow Foam (buy a 5 litre bottle, you'll be suprsied how quick you use it) Wash Liquid (your choice really, i like Dodo juices Supernatural shampoo or Meguires Hyper Wash) A degreaser of some sort (i use Meguires Professional Range degreaser) Wash: 2 Buckets A lambwool washmitt Grit guard (if you want to help avoid swirls even more, but not necessary) Drying: Microfibre Cloths (lots of them! as you use them for everything on the car) A quick detailer (to aid drying, your choice. I use Last Touch - brilliant stuff!) Claying: A clay of your choice (i personally like Sonus clay, if new to the stuff get a mild clay) Clay Lube (I use Last Touch as i have it already for drying stage plus once panel is clayed, i spray it with some more Last Touch and wipe clean with a Microfibre) Then theres the machine polish stage.. skip if required, i wont go into detail about this stage Paint Prep Paint Cleanser (to prep paint for wax, on my car i used Dodo Juice Lime Prime) Wax Wax of choice for this car was Dodo Juice Supernatural. Im a big fan of hard waxes, i dont see the point in liquid waxes myself, hard waxes physically cure to the paintwork giving not only a deep shine but much longer lasting protection, this means you only need to do a proper wax session every 2 or so months. Supernatural is £65 upwards but is well worth it in my book, (considering you only need it 4 or 5 times a year max and you get 20 ish applications out of the pot) but there are so many waxes out there, just depends on the budget really. Wheels and Tyres: Wheel Cleaner (Bilberry is my favourite) EZ Brush (scrubs the back of the wheels, by far the bets brush out there) Few detail brushes (for hard to reach areas and in bolt holes) Tyre Gel (Meguires High Gloss Tyre Gel is my favourite, again optional depends if you want shiney tyres) Another good buy is a All Purpose Cleaner, Might be worth getting some Meguires All Purpose Cleaner. Come in US Gallon and you dilute it 4:1 so you get 5 US Gallons for £20 Use it for around badges, interior parts (not coloured leather though) and basically anything you can think of. Just look how many times i used it cleaning my car, from door cards to mats. As for where to buy this stuff from, the best web site out there in my opinion to get a good base kit together is http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk Very fast delivery, good prices, only issue i have with them is they run out of stock on a lot of items, but that i think is just becasue of how popular they are. All these items are what i like, everyones different, I use different products on diffferent cars, so above is good good base kit to add to and definatly try different products afterwards to find what you prefer. The best product for cleaning a car in my book is by far the simple Microfibre Cloth! Best place to buy them from is Costco, you can get a bag of 36 for £14. Trust me the fact you use them for every stage of cleaning and on every part of your car you soon get through them, once its too dirty i demote them to wheels and tyres etc and use fresh ones for paintwork, TIP: tear the label off each cloth before use. Hope thats helped you. Any more questions just ask.
  24. Has anyone ever tried on of these? If so are they any good, im not fussed about bhp gains as im a realist and know they wont give you any, just worried they will actually give big bhp drops. Any one got a picture of one fitted? Id like to see where the filter actually sits. Thanks
