  1. welcome. gorgeous looking car, lovely in red. please please please get it machine polished, the swirls in those top pics ruin them for me
  2. there is a third type of spacer some cars use. These are spacers that fit behind the hubs. (not 100% sure how these work) but i do know its to reduce the extra stresses on bearings. Cars such as the racing ford puma's have them as standard. That means that adding spacers onto the front of the hub does and can add extra stress to bearings, most the time not enough to worry about. just imagine some of these show cars with 6" spacers to fit the wheels in monster arches. just imagine how short a wheel bearings life would be on that!
  3. your tyres look very undersized. what you running on them?
  4. you sir are a star! Me and the search button are not good freinds, as many times as i try it just doesnt want to give me all the info Thanks very much
  5. Been doing searches but nothing much seems to come up other than, i did it and did a reset. Not really helping me I want to clean the throttle body as i have seen a lot of peoples pictures and comments on here and how its worth doing. and the fact i do it on every car i have had. (cant believe i need to ask this, i do things like jenvey ITB set ups and the likes on other cars) Damn electral stuff. Anyway, i hear lots of horror stories about cleaning it becuase it can fudge up sensors, electrics etc etc etc I want to take the T/B off clean it, avoid damaging its coating, replace and go Please fill in the blanks 1. remove pipe work on T/B 2. Unplug sensor (i guess being electric there's one) 3. Undo the 4 bolts (opposites i take it when undoing) 4. Remove 5. Clean with throttle cleaning (any other cleaners that car be used?) 6. Replace (do you all use new gaskets?) 7. reconnect sensors and pipework 8. Start the car (?) or do you do a reset 9. How the feck do you do a reset? Any help would be much appreciated. P.S whats wrong with the good old fashioned cable throttle..
  6. i managed to do mine in about 45 minutes with a jack and some spanners just took the old one off as one, saved having to try undo stupid rusted blatently wanting to round off nuts. i say 45minutes... then an hour odd another evening trying to get it to remotely fit in my bumper. needless to say it didnt, thus i am awaiting deliver of my buddyclub system. anyway get some pics up once its finished
  7. I need to set about changing my spark plugs as its gone past the 54k at which they should be changed. What seems to be the best plugs for the 350z, mine is a 2004 UK spec. NGK? NGK Platinum, Denso, Bosh super 4? Thanks Terry
  8. talking of graveyard shifts... i was there until 11:30 last night just hope the day you guys wanna come down im not too busy
  9. yeah, by all means evenings only though im afraid. 6:30 onwards
  10. so its not just me spending more time looking at the girl than the car lol. That the other half? if so, lucky man! Also lucky man for the clean motor,
  11. That's 276 at the fly. So I have 292.7 at the fly (estimated) and I'm well into the 87K + miles doh, dumb ass me, didnt read the whp next to the numbers. just rushed seeing lots of lower numbers than expected. lol
  12. exhausts, all depends on what note, what budget, etc etc. Theres a whole section here on exhausts, loads of recent questions, myself included, so have a look through there.
  13. i thought the zeds had 276hp? if thats the case the engines dont age well?
  14. looking good, makes me want to grab the spanners and rattle can,
  15. £350 for an exhaust, if they can make a profit on that, then for the sake of bending the pipe 2 degrees more i would have been a very happy chappie! And so would everyone else! They now know the common problems, they can surely get it rectified and be onto a real winner
  16. just throw us £20. I'll Remove, strip, fit, properly balance (unlike some places) weights are either silver or black stick on's your choice (not hammer on's!) fitted back on the car, and properly torqued up etc! Company is in Luton, Like i said couple of miuntes off J11 I am the sole fitter for a company called Alloy Wheels Direct who do all Genuine BMW, Brabus, AMG, Mercedes and Smart wheels. (i work for a company called Six one two, but work through them doing the other companys wheels) The guy who owns AWD wont let any one else fit his wheels up lol. I only work there in the evenings from 6pm onwards as i have a office job during the day, so this is my second job. Place has a proper machine, means i dont use metal lever bars to fit the tyres. but plastic rollers Also do a lot of Range Rovers, mainly 22s, as well as cars like Bentleys, Ferrari's and even the odd 195/50/15 on a rust bucket.
  17. i had my windscreen replaced last week by Autoglass (due to 3 stone chips) they say theres only one type on there system (im guessign uk only) so if you want a Jap one i think you may have to wait, either that or buy a second hand one?
  18. Hope thats not to do with my thread. i didnt want to report them as bad traders. Just a poor fitting exhaust i had, they may have made an excuse, but they are willing to give me a FULL refund. Which isnt bad at all really.
  19. P.S if you want someone to fit them for you (who isnt a Kwik fit monkey) and wont damage your wheels, then pop to my work any weekday evening ( i work evenings at a alloy company/ also does tyres) so can do them for you whenever. I work there from 6pm onwards (offen till 10 - 11pm) Only problem is im outside London 3 minutes from (J11 of the M1 though..)
  20. even if they go today, you usually need to pay alot extra for saturday delivery, it will 99% sure be sat in a DHL/ Interlink etc warehouse all weekend and delivered monday, (costs an extra £15 - £20 to post things like that on Saturday delivery at my work)
  21. another tip, get a scrap panel and practice, try differnt techniques, also deliberatly burn through the paint to give you an idea of what it takes to do so. Just try alsorts on the scrap panel first. Then you should have a good starting technique to work from.
  22. that hks one has been completely polished as well aint it. thats why it looks so good. Is that a standard rear bumper just cut or aftermarket? As for exhausts, there's so much choice! But only a few with no big single rear silencer. As said yesterday, Buddyclub looks good, and the one on ebay is sold by a company we deal with were i work, so if i did decide on that one, i shall be trying to blag a discount i just need to see pics of it fitted on a car first.
  23. if that happens your using too much polish. see my pic where it shows only about 3 dabs or so, sometimes i use a thin line on the panel (again in the pics.. i think) You should be breaking down all the polish on the pad when generating the heat on the panel, meaning you should have next to no residue left, but even i sometimes use a tad too much If so, grab another pad (why its always good to have 2 of each pad you use) as like you said it will drastically affect your results.
