  1. No oil cooler just a drain line which is handy when it comes to emptying and not making a mess. Yeah I could make a huge castle out of all my cardboard boxes
  2. Well you probably know how long mine took There is no instructions or marks to show which brass plug is the dip stick, Hope to pick up where I left off at the weekend but now waiting on other stuff ive ordered to be delivered
  3. three spare bottles think it takes about a full bottle to fill it so you get a few oil changes, handy as the first one is at 2500miles then 7000 there after.
  4. Anyone got a pic of the vortech V3 dipstick? not sure what it looks like, I presume it is the brass plug directly horizontal when the charger is in place, Is it visible/accessible from the wheel arch area? I know you change the plug on top of the blower for the vented one but from my350z I can see this is not the dipstick. Just want to make sure there is oil in there before I start the thing.
  5. Ive got a hyundai i10, think I might play swapsys. Never would have thought about trying it. Good find bob!
  6. Looks good Davy =)
  7. Yeah I am lucky to have another car so can take my time and have been planning to do this since I got the car nearly 3 years ago Also the few other S/C build threads have been worth their weight in gold for comparison purposes. Well I am off to Singapore so see you all later
  8. As keyser says about the pressure adjusting, you need the car running. Looking at your pictures, I'm afraid you need to revisit the aam adapter block to fuel rail fitting. The fitting is the right way round now, but you have an o-ring seal where you shouldn't . Where the 90 fitting ( black) goes to the straight (blue). These are AN fittings and seal internally where the two metal flared ends meet. There shouldn't be a seal of any kind there. Please don't take this the wrong way, because anyone that has a go themself gets my respect (thats how you learn afterall) but I think before you drive the car anywhere you should get someone with a bit more knowledge just to have a little look over your work, especially the fuel system. The last thing you want after all this hard work is for it to go up in flames. Thanks for the advice, I only put that o-ring the because the fitting instructions weren't the greatest and I thought it would give a better seal, the fitting is as tight as it will go against the black 90 fitting and hasn't leaked yet and you can see in the photo the o-ring isn't that squished that it would be causing the other side to seal poorly, from the AAM pictures it looks like there is a gap in that space normally. But if you think its better to remove them I will. I wish I could get someone to look at it but unfortunately with it being stuck in my garage its just myself and my dad both engineers (him being the better) Don't worry I got a ribbing for having the fitting the wrong way round That's the reason I have tested it without firing up the engine, so we can spot the leaks before any sparks happen Most of my mistakes have been through rushing to try and get the car ready but after being told countless times by my dad, I now know its not going to be done by 3rd April so can slow down and look things over more carefully. The reason for posting so many pics is so you guys who have done it before can make these comments so I am kept on the right path.
  9. Tried to start it up again, nice sound of fuel pissing out of somewhere Plenum off Works better when you put the fittings the correct way around Then tried again.... more fuel spewing out the wee silver nut, nothing a bit of ptfe tape and a good tighten wont sort! one more time! and she kept pressure! but tired adjusting it on the fuel pressure reg but it just stayed around 20 psi??? Is this correct? i.e. can I only adjust it when I start the car or should I have been able to see pressure change when I screwed the wee thing on top up or down? Will have to wait till after my holiday to fire her up for real. Also cancelled RS tuning as I would rather have the car finished before going down to get it tuned.
  10. It better be! The amount of blood and arguments I have had over this dam car lol Sooo many wee things I am not happy with, going to take a long time to sort them all to a decent standard.
  11. Well I managed to sh@i* myself when I forgot to remove the brake fluid cover from the windscreen wiper area and the wipers were set to full speed (when I climbed over into driver seat). wiper may need a new blade also Anyone know of a way to cut and shut aircon pipes? would rather not buy new ones to then try and bend them, (even though the one I bent already had a gash in it before I started ) Predator bleeds! Also the tolerances of this kit is shocking! had to move so many wires etc, and still squeezes the radiator hoses and is so dam close to cables!
  12. yup, was getting pee'd off by the end also started arguing with my dad, result a few broken clips and a leaking AC line , guess I will be with out cool air for a while .If I am lucky, I might try starting it again tomorrow afternoon. I at least know the belts and charger turn Booked RS tuning for 3rd April as I am off to Singapore on Thursday.
  13. C@ck of a day, need some beer and off to a party but end product. Didn't start tho and gave up cos its freaking freezing. Still got lots of tidying up to do and brackets etc to sort out .... and plug the fuel pump back in may help next time when trying to start the git.
  14. I go through the battery compartment, easy to reach from the passenger footwell area. if you remove the plastic trim below the windscreen in the battery area you will see where the loom enters through.
  15. Looks very cool but maybe the rear is needing something? maybe rear spats?

    Sumps

Cost and space (or lack of at the front bumper area), also I live in Scotland so oil cooler is probably ott for what I will use it for.
  17. Not sure....... Maybe aye maybe no
  18. I got larger ones(two for the intercooler and two for the maf and throttle body) if I hadnt ordered them I dont think I would get them to fit at all. You can see they are the black ones compared with the vortech blue. Ordered from ash hoses I will pm you mate.
