I like the butt wear method, compare the seats to other cars with similar mileage(unless aftermarket) but as stated above if it looks sound go for it! I was lucky to have the import documents otherwise no way to tell it's 8000 less on the clock.

As GT4 Zed has said, you can go overboard with suspension. I was happy with bc suspension,standard roll bar and falkens, now with eibach roll bars I have lost the feel with the falkens and need something with a much stiffer sidewall as I can't tell the cars limit anymore until it's too late and the tyres just give up, a little bodyroll was handy to tell me slow down!

I break it so I can upgrade! Now where is my sledgehammer and engine?

Wow, this thread has had more posts/views than any I've created and I've been on a while! Having seen this car in the flesh I can say the rear might grow on me, the sides need something done with the wheels but I ain't a fan of the front. I would say give him a chance to finish it first before the napalm comes out as I drove about with JDM 18" with the ING's kit for ages and it looked daft with its one nostril (still does, but it's functional). Lrfan pestered me for ages about it.

They've probably never said anything because I'm assuming that there assuming you're just renewing, i.e. you've got Tax - Runs out at Midnight (28th/1st). So there won't be a point where you don't have Tax. I normally take the sorn letter with me I will ask at my local post office just to clear the matter up probably wont even use the car till the middle of the month its a garage queen now.

I will need to check the previous tax disc and see what date has been stamped from the post office, I have never been told I cannot drive it on the day of purchase (1day before the start of the month) but I have now come across a post where someone was sent an automated fine under said circumstances. =/ I guess they do it so you can buy on a Sat if the office is closed on the Sunday and it falls on the 1st.

The post office won't let you have March start if you go in on the 26th but if you go in on Feb 28th they will sell you next month's start = 12months and 1day. I know this as I have done this in the past. Anyway I found the info I was after so thanks (either paying a 10for new mot certificate and taxing on 28th Feb or online on 1st March.)

You are chancing getting pulled by an ANPR flag then, especially of you're SORN'ed they may just throw the book at you as what's to say you haven't been driving around the whole time.... Not worth it for a day dude I would never drive without tax, what I am saying and have done in the past, is that you can go to a post office and get a disc 1 or 2(can't remember) days before the start of a new month and be issued a tax disc that lasts 12month +1 or 2 days =screwing the system.(But you need all your documents, hence this thread)

Cheers, just realized I can get a new mot certificate from any test center if I have my v5c and reg, only costs a tenner and I can get my tax on the Friday to screw the system outta one days free tax!

Yeah I suppose you are right, just incase that was to happen how do you go about getting a replacement mot certificate? Contact the garage and ask them or do you have to deal with the diks at the dvla? (Off to search this one as it should be easyer to find out)
