  1. From looking at the workshop manual and Kaaz 1.5way instructions, looks quite easy. No need to dismantle the Kaaz diff, just use 8 (i think) new bolts to attach the old ring gear, side bearings and washers from the original diff then swap in new side oil seals where the driveshaft side flanges go and top up with oil. The big issue I can see is hopefully there is enough room to angle the new diff in without scratching anything and it should line up the ring gear and drive pinion fine. Just re-read the title, 2-way, see above headache.
  2. £0 But in a serious note, you will need to disconnect the driveshafts and prop shaft along with your exhaust if its like mine, then dismantle the diff and swap in the new one so probably 3 hours work for a good mechanic? or couple of weeks for me.
  3. You could put the 660cc injectors and 255 pump in, would let you test and make sure they work 100% but in my opinion you are adding miles/ dirtying them for no reason so would hold off until you get the charger. As for the fluidampr, I am waiting for mine to arrive but yet again dont see the point in buying a new belt only to have to swap it out soonish?? for the longer HKS one. Still running my AMS crank pulley, will let you know how scored my crank is in a few months.
  4. As the norm, Ewen at clark motorsport couldn't be more helpful to deal with. Ordered the Kaaz LSD and while starting to prep the car noticed the subframe bushes were shot so some quick PM's at silly hours of the night I get some whiteline goodies added to my shipment to save delivery hassle. Next day service, couldn't ask for more or think of anywhere I would search first for items. Cheers guys.
  5. Not in a rush for an engine so keep hoping a 350z crashes in Ayrshire leaving the driver and engine in perfect condition If I am ever on a long trip down deepest darkest south England I will give you a heads up Keyser. (or after the wedding take a detour one day while visiting friends )
  6. Had an hour to spare today which should have been fine but w braces dont like coming off after 11+ years, one 11mm socket later and the 12mm bolt was free (leaving its stud ) Think we might need a bit of sanding and anti-rust here.
  7. probably not best to put your mobile up on a public forum, if someone is as enthusiastic as yourself I am sure they will PM you buddy
  8. Don't know yet need to look into it, but cheers for the advice.
  9. It's a sad day the Z is off the road, probably for quite some time. Anyway shes off the road so wont have to worry about being pulled over, also on the same drive home the rear end felt funny, stepped out twice on a roundabout when going very slow and started to make a hellish banging noise. Previously I had an issue with a knock from the passenger side rear but after removing the shock to find no damage or signs of anything wrong I just ignored it expecting a bush was on its way out. My plan of attack is to replace all the rear sub frame mount bushes and diff bushes (maybe the suspension arms too as I have a box waiting to upgrade the front... but not the rear yet ) I think the whole sub frame is shifting due to worn bushes hence the noise and rear end randomly stepping out. It does help that I have also ordered a New KAAZ LSD from clark motorsport so kills a few birds with one stone (or car). Having never removed the rear bumper and living with a broken/crap boot release since I let those cowboys install the bodykit, I was worried about what I might find. Fortunately the rear of the car is in good nic under the horrible bubbled bumper, so one less thing to treat for rust. The bumper however might need more than the fiberglass repair resin stuff I have so If you know of any good products let me know! Going to sand the bumper down and primer it again then if I have the cash, try wrapping it and the car matte black. Ohh and if I can get round to buying a duff engine to have a play with and send a usable core to get machined to the spec of the new pistons all the better. 1 thing that can and will delay all of this.... the wedding..... why can't a guy and girl go to Vegas, get pi**ed and end up married, sooo much cheaper and less hassle! (my missus would kill me if she reads this as she has been doing all the work and I owe her big time really, all I need to do is turn up... i think in a DBS! Also to save finding the manual what is this thing? (something to do with the old jdm satnav?) Had to use some special tools to fit through the small vent hole to remove the bumper screws dam cowboys!!!
  10. Personally I would love to, but that is the very distant future. Need to build a big home garage and become 100% confident building and stripping VQ35's first.
  11. £1200 just for a good running engine, then add labor. Duff engines go for around £350-400.
  12. extra one or two passengers doesn't help the gtr.
  13. Do the cosworth head gaskets get the cooling block mod? Like HR gaskets? Nice work =)
  14. 400-500 is the ballpark I am playing with, the ebay ones are just silly, cheaper to buy a car and strip for that money.
  15. Sorry to hear about your accident, main thing as said you walked away unhurt! As for buying back, i am looking for a spare engine to tinker with
  16. Wheel not hub, different dynos so more losses. But yeah, could inflate people's eagos unless they ask for actual wheel values than adjusted. Needless to say it's all aboutthe butt dyno for me, if it feels fast enough that's great! But if it scares the sh&$ out of you that's even better! (Shame it costs so much more money.)
  17. since mine is in the same ball park and I asked for wheel hp not just flywheel that rs tuning like to give out, here is their drive train losses, bit ott I think.428fhp=358whp
  18. Glad you can now play with your beast 380hbp is more than enough to have fun with, your afr graph is totally different from mine though. mine stays at a near enough constant 11.6;1 Always nice to have room for improvement, keep the 3.12 for when you get bored....... it will happen.
  19. Or you could buy the cable and licence and diy, . . . Wouldn't advise it tho.
  20. Hubs match up ok? Or did you make spacers for them to fit on?
  21. Wages into our own accounts then both send money into a joint account for bills, anything unexpected comes up I will pay for it. Both fortunate to have goodish jobs and parents who taught us how to save/spend money..... except when it come to car parts but I dont gamble or smoke so need some vice.
  22. Loving the GTR brakes, much hassle to fit? custom brackets? Yeah I noticed the cosworth head gaskets but there are quite a few nissan oem ones that need replaced when doing a full strip/build, What do you plan on reving to?(what are the BC springs rated for). Didn't know cosworth did 10.3 comp pistons, good choice and as you say the meth should help avoid knock with lower intemp.
  23. Where did you get the fluidampr as it's one of the last puzzle pieces for my build. The items you have look like good quality stuff, did you buy an engine gasket rebuild kit? What compression pistons did you go for i thought cosworth only did high and low? L17 head studs? Watching with interest.
