  1. Rivnuts are the best option, then buy some coloured button nuts to attach the over fenders, not cheap but will look good and allow for repairs easier. Got some sitting ready for my install =)
  2. I no longer need these items so sticking them up for sale, I may keep the intercooler for future projects so no ONO, Vortech V3 03 supercharger front mount intercooler (both sides have one coat of grey primer and one side has matte black coat also an added custom bracket as the original only has one), £100 collected. Oem spoiler with a small chip/mark in the middle underside, gunmetal grey, £35 collected, Rear wiper and motor, £30 collected.
  3. The weather is pants but I just missed working on the Z so found a space in the garage to squeeze into to do some mods today. Its all prep work for wrapping the boot black and fitting the BGW and hopefully the Project Louvres. I will take the car to planet performance to weld up the holes in the boot now that its missing the oem spoiler and wiper. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r488/evilZ69/IMAG1080_zpsfjk4sfxd.jpg I knew I would need this fishing rod again! Coincidentally I might be going fishing on tuesday for the first time since i was 13 lol. Not sure where the plastic clips were as its just tiger seal to my eyes maybe added when it was imported.
  4. That's me finished playing with the V8, video doesn't cope with how deep the burble is and makes the standard exhaust sound louder due to my poor camera placement.
  5. I did nick my subframe with the sawzall even when I had the subframe out, ended up having a specialist put a small weld to fill the nick as it would play on my mind, this guy doesn't seem to care tho
  6. It will either fall out the back and down on top of the gearbox after lots of driving or you may see it in the wee window at the front timing cover, otherwise it will be stuck against an injector until you fish it out, fortunately it's an aluminium block and plastic valve covers so easy to attach a magnet to the thing you want =) happy fishing.
  7. Neilp bought from them too. . . . . Whoever he was =p only high performance Nissan garage in Scotland I believe?
  8. Big bumper cars, favourite motorsport, always interesting, don't think I will make it along this year though =(
  9. Sounds like too much hassle, should have done the same as me and buy a v8 in a separate car and keep the VQ in the Z But honestly, very well done guys a good build you have here and tackling all the issues is part of the fun when you look back on the finished project. P.S. you need these, so might have to do the exhaust again. (Just noticed the sound is pants on my phone, need to get the gopro later.)
  10. Whats you budget, car used for etc? Its getting old so worth replacing most bushes if you can.
  11. But other people might want to know so always worth sharing your findings but I would presume you cut the old section out and rivet/bond these on?
  12. I have the fenders and side skirts, . . . . But the rest wasn't my taste, probably end up the same way as this car lol.
  13. Not sure about planning laws near you but in Scotland I only needed a building warrant due to the + 30m^2 size. Yours will be under that so should be fine without planning (if you have the same local rules.)
  14. 13-17k, doing something similar but going back as well. Mine has been quoted 18-24k
  15. Should be a bit more noisy tomorrow couldn't hear the v8 so just fitting some electric exhaust valves.
  16. BMW mini? in British Racing Green?
  17. Yes but getting that info out of them is a nightmare. It's like you have to say a key word or phrase to unlock their understanding which is difficult as I don't know the ins and outs of what's involved. I want to be able to say; I want this end product within x parameters. And then just pay for it at the end. I want to give my car to someone and pick it up x amount of weeks later and pays my cash as a happy bunny. That is fair enough if you hand over a large sum of money at the end but.. most tuners have repeat customers who might need a favor here and there or something unusual is found during the build, valve guides need replacing or something, unless you have every new nut and bolt ready for the tuner to fit then time scales can be hard to judge. Some work (machining) is probably outsourced so they will need to fit into the other parties work list and so forth). If you do have a big wallet you can push your way to the front of anyone's que that's just life. As I am trying to build my own engine I know its a painful process and if you want a good job expect to wait.... as I have been for years.
  18. Only if you are confident you know what you are talking about as most tuning companies have wayyyyy more experience than an individual who has only owned the car a few years..... but if your a total geek and live on these forums and have read the workshop manual back to front many times then tell them what to do.
  19. Dunks just posted about his.... and Paul with his new red one.....
  20. Ouch, ok maybe when you break it down it does kinda make sense, I would have just asked why they didn't have one labour charge as its not exactly adding much more time if the car is up on a ramp already. Thank F I do my own services, could cause issues when I come to sell... thankfully that will be never
  21. Think this is the whiteline part number for that Bush. W62996Rear Control arm - lower rear inner bushing
  22. No leak or anything wrong here, there is not ment to be any oil in this coupling, could have been some rusty oil or some kind mechanic who put in in the join to combat rust, seazing. I don't think that stub shaft has a hole all the way through to where the oil is kept in the diff housing. If you do pull the stub shafts out the diff you will need to replace the rubber/metal seals as they tear normally.(the sealing circumference around the back of your pictured stub shaft.)
