  1. Thanks for the motivation guys, started the other rear wing, a lot quicker as less afraid/ knew what to do. gaps look better, not ideal but running out of time.
  2. Stock valve retainers should be fine, as for the valve springs I would expect an upgrade would be advisable. The BC cams say they need their springs (probably marketing) due to the increased load of the larger opening and rpm raising that come naturally with big cams. The car won't run well without a tune but you should always check timing and make sure there is no valve interference. As for if it will run. . . probably but not well.
  3. Looking epic mate, what ride height will you use for crusing?
  4. Yeah I have seen the door connectors in the past as I was tempted to mount a gauge in the air pod on the door, . . . That didn't happen lol. As for the wire tuck cheers for the idea but I will hold that off until I do the engine switch later in the year, running out of time as mentioned above =s
  5. Bit of weight saved here, hope none of it was important. If any one requires random jdm wiring its free to a good home, only thing i might ask money for is the head unit. Connector had me stumped last night. more pish removed.
  6. All good, harness is out, just a weird hinged connector. couldnt see it in the dark last night.
  7. Bummer, was planning on loosing some dead weight. Might have to leave it under the passenger carpet for now until I take the dash off then to open up that big white box where the loom enters. Cheers Chris
  8. Yet again I start one job and jump on two others. so that plastic thing was hiding half my garden in it. fiberglass didn't work, too uneven and hard a surface to attach to, had a layer on top and on the bottom but they kept falling off and wouldnt stick flush so.... its bondo! time aka filler and fill in the rest of the tangs with rivets. what the hell is this, not that it is in the car anymore. started to fit the new stereo and ended up ripping out an microphone to attach a new one wired up the gps receiver, then noticed the old wires for the jdm sat nav............... I might have got carried away and ripped out the rear amp and the wiring loom on the passenger side and the antenna cable which I need to replace for a simpler one.
  9. How do you disconnect the passenger side I.C.E wiring loom from under the dashboard hard to see what needs done? Also I have some blue clear plastic square things attached to the trans tunnel area, were these part of the BT and bluetooth pish? Or have I been too drastic in my wiring removal.
  10. This was the most scary thing I have done to the car. plenty of krust used to kill the tin worm. not sure how far I plan to bend the arches up yet... but I will lay some fiberglass over and under the flaps to make a new wheel arch liner for protecting the underside of the expensive stardast kit. Then filler and finally underseal the bottom to keep the rust away. finally new battery terminals. Also picked up my new double din head unit which I will fit tomorrow if i can fit it in. the last tangs before filler and paint.
  11. Link for where you got it? Think this is a great idea.
  12. a bit out of your budget but this is the one I am about to buy as its ideal if you have an apple phone. http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/apple-carplay/pioneer-sph-da120-car-stereo-with-apple-carplay £329
  13. the kidney shaped brackets? yeah they suck, just do a side at a time and support the subframe.
  14. Fiberglass work to repair damage I done and areas I wasn't happy with, need to use filler next. a bracket for wheel arch liners on the new fenders. masking up the rear arches, plan to make a cut along the middle of the bottom curve and bend inwards and rivet together until I get welding gear.
  15. Turbo 350z 400hp probably feels fast but with a s/c you dont get the torque hit and you end up reaching speeds you don't expect i.e. the scenery is flying past but you still feel like you aint going that quick..... Then you end up spending a lot more money to try and find that point where
  16. fair bit of money in a genuine amuse front bumper
  17. zmanalex or clark motorsport are your closest.
  18. Drove the missus car home after MOT and wheel bearing replacement... the bonnet had not been shut correctly. Unfortunately these things can happen as most garages struggle to pass on experience until it bites them in the face. Usually learning the hard way. Hence why I don't trust anyone with my car.... shame the missus doesn't trust me / is impatient.
  19. Looks good, did you not fancy doing the HR cooling mod? What paint did you use on your block? Plan to do mine red soon.
  20. I really hate you.... but I will be in contact with you when I have money.
  21. Not to be a dick as I love this thread but isn't that fitting a bit small? You will be there for ever doing an oil change especially in the winter

    DE Cams

you will be lucky to get a new set for £800
  23. Have you tried fitting the bumper bracket back on? In the process of grinding mine some more so it doesn't mark my pipe.
