Mega bodge job! The cables should have been passed through the rear bulkhead with the reversing lamp cables. Bumper off job to do it properly.

It's called a flange. The same thing happened to me in that the back box pipe rusted through at the flange connection. I replaced the back box with OEM box as I needed a replacement quickly. I then found out that the mid pipe side also had a crack and it is just a matter of time before that fails or fails an mot. So I decided this year to replace the lot with stainless steel. Luckily I managed to get a low mileage second hand miltek which will be fitted on Saturday. It seems to me that it is the join between the two parts that is the weak point. It doesn't seal very well and condensate will leak and cause premature corrosion.

It was perhaps 6 litres from empty headlight washers to full when I filled up two weeks ago.

Nothing at all. But you can sell it to me for a profit if you like.

If it is sealed it will bead just as we'll if not better than wax and will last longer. Checkout zaino or GTechniq.

If it is sealed then no need for wax.

It's nothing crazy like a leaky hose causing the inlet manifold to vent to atmosphere? This will kill an engine instantly. If the leak is small it could explain the idle problems and lack of power under load. When warming up, if the leak gets bigger it will suddenly just die. So leaking hoses, leaking inlet manifold etc? Probably not much help just trying to think of something not yet covered and also doesn't involve parts necessarily at this point.

It takes about 5 litres of fluid. That's about 5kg of weight! You know it is full when the fluid reaches the top and overflows

I used just about the whole bottle. So that's £20ish quids worth. I dare say that I used too much. It is very hard to see it going on.

I'm expecting Gtechniq C5 to last 9 months fingers crossed! It's rated to last up to a year.

How about take them off. Give them a good clean. Then seal them with GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour. Then snow foam and pressure wash with perhaps agitation with a brush if you are unlucky.

Just applied this to my newly refurbished wheels. Supposed to last up to a year. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Hopefully I will no longer need to use Bilberry wheel cleaner an can now use snow foam or normal shampoo. Jim

It will be obvious when they work If you have the lights on (headlights not sidelights?) and operate the windscreen washer, the headlamp jets will also fire off. The headlamp washers will only operate once so using the windscreen washers again will not cause the headlamp washer to fire as well until you switch the ignition off/on again or switch the headlamps off/on again. The washer button is used to turn the headlamp washer off or on so that the washers do not operate if in the off position and the windscreen wash is activated. Jim

No probs. It will be useful to others no doubt.

A rotary? I also found the smaller pads easier to manage than the larger Megs pads.

Also the rotary is much quieter than the DA, less tiring and no vibrations making you numb.
