  1. Hi, Just had a PM conversation with Kev (busa1300) who has put me straight and even offered to help me put it in if I have trouble, so I think I am sorted already. Thanks again Kev! Wes
  2. Hi, Having considered what feels like every head unit on the market, I have decided to go for a JVC to replace the Bose. I have never installed anything like this before, but having the forum gives me enough confidence to give it a go. That's probably a bad thing but hey I have had a search through previous posts and think I have worked out what I need, but I would appreciate someone giving my list the once over before I order it all. I have a 2007 facelift - I understand that makes a difference when choosing components. JVC KW-AVX830 Head Unit: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kwavx830.html iPod Connector: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-ksu30.html Fascia: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=7873 Adapter: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=7879 Steering Wheel Adapter Part 1: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=7875 Steering Wheel Adapter Part 2: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/incarte ... aptor.html Am I right in thinking I don't need an aerial converter with the JVC head unit? So fire away, what have I got wrong or missed? Cheers, Wes
  3. Don't see too many 350's round here, but there was an azure coupe (53 plate I think?) behind me on the A585 (off the M55) heading north today between 4.30pm and 5.00pm. I turned off towards Elswick. Anyone one here?
  4. I didn't know about grinspeed either - I have noted that one down!
  5. Congratulations on the car, wish I could stretch to one. I also live in Preston and am picking up my first 350 (07) on Friday / Saturday. Not sure who I will be using as I will also most likely get spacers fitted soon. For my previous cars I have used Ray at Ashton Autos - off Blackpool Road down the side of the Peugeot garage. I will probably stick with him if I can as he has been great to date. Have a look at the following: http://www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk/searc ... D=MTEzMA== You will have to message me and let me know where abouts in Preston you are. Wes
  6. Ended up with a silver 07 GT Coupe - I actually preferred the colour, but as I said in my first post, they all look great First think I will be ordering is clear reflectors and a smaller aerial I think.
  7. Good news, picking up the new car this coming weekend, will keep you posted.
  8. It's funny you should say that. It obviously helps if the girlfriend approves of what car you buy, and she was sat with me the other night when I pointed out that one of the local meets is often Krispy Kreme at the Trafford Centre. She had two responses, the first being "why have you never told me there is a Krispy Kreme so close by" and the second being "you have to get one of those" - I hope she was referring to the car and not a glazed doughnut. I'm not kidding, everytime I go to London with work I have to bring a couple back. Thank's for mentioning it though, I was hoping to have a zed before then and come along, but if not, I will come down anyway.
  9. Yes, just had another look on pistonheads and autotrader and there do seem to be a few more about in that price range. Just been outside washing and T-Cutting the current car ready to sell it, god I'm unfit, I'm absolutely knackered. 2 1/2 hours it took - I think its obvious I sit at a desk all day.
  10. Thanks, Would be nice to find a car in this area of the country too, but most available at present appear to be 150+ miles away. Wes
  11. Thanks very much guys, can't believe how quick you all are to respond. Wes
  12. Hi, Thought it was about time I introduced myself as I have been lurking around the forum for a few weeks. My name's Wes and I live in Preston, Lancashire, although in truth I'm a Blackpool lad, which you have to keep quiet around these parts. Now that I am no longer travelling up and down the M6, I have decided to get rid of my diesel and get myself a 350Z - I have wanted one for ages. I'm looking to make the transition within the next month, it just depends how long it takes me to sell my current car and find the right new one. I've started thinking I might be just as well part exchanging anyway, as otherwise I will be without transport. I'm hoping to get an 06+ facelift with no more than 30k miles on it. I was initially limiting myself to gm grey, but the longer I look, the more difficult it is to find a colour I don't like. Any variation on grey / silver would be great. My budget is £15k give or take, does that sound realistic? Most listed on pistonheads and autotrader seem to be a good bit higher than that, but I guess they don't always sell for what they are priced at. Wes
