  1. Folks When I brake hard my handbrake light comes on some times(checked the hand brake is fully off and also checked the rear disks which where cold indicating that the hand brake was indeed fully off).. Is this normal? Also this morning someone pulled out in front of me then panicked and stopped.. luckily I was only doing 30mph and was able to stop.. however I had to brake quite hard this in turn caused the handbrake light to come on as expected but this time TCS was disabled with the TCS light coming on + the slip light constantly. I turned the car off as I was getting petrol went in and paid... came out went to drive off and it was still showing as disabled.. I tested the car on a quiet road and indeed the tcs was disabled. I disconnected the battery for about 10 seconds (as I was on my way to work or I'd had left it 5-10 minutes) but this made no difference.. just as I turned in to the office the hand brake light went off.. I parked turned the engine off and then back on.. the TCS was fixed with the flights for TCS and slip not illuminated on the dashboard any more.. Has anyone any ideas?!
  2. I had the airbag out recently.. All I did was put the windows down before I unplugged and reconnected the battery.. zero issues.
  3. also look at the 4th picture 5000 rpm with no heat in the engine.. What???! I Know that's most likely the least of your worries but why do people even treat cars like that?1
  4. Hi guys just an update/little more info... this takes about 10 minutes to do.. I used needle nose pliers to take off the connector to the airbag mine steering wheel had both controls on each side its the same loom just the cable runs behind the plastic of the steering wheel.. the centre retaining bolt is 19MM (I think!) you need a T30 security key as the T30 bolt is a little rounded and it works out to be a 9.5MM socket needed..and a T40 standard hex... (I bought something similar to this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_232437_langId_-1_categoryId_165572http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_232437_langId_-1_categoryId_165572 and it was only £11 in store) just a heads up do not buy the cheap T30 security nuts on ebay.. mine broke when putting the first screw back in and I ended up with this...
  5. Doh thanks I should have searched for brake disk instead of brake disc! All happy again cheers CS!
  6. Thank you very much! why does it happen out of interest?
  7. I took the wheel off the car as there was a metallic scraping sound (which I believe was the heat shield) however I found that the disk moves when the wheel isn't on.. My last car had Brembo brakes and the disc was bolted on so didnt move.. Is this normal?? (p.s. excuse the look of WTF on my face)
  8. I've found if its cold and you don't let it warm up properly it can be hard to get it in to certain gears.. once warmed I've had no issues getting it in to gear.. would it be worth going back and letting it warm up before playing around again?.. that said I don't think I've had a problem getting in to fifth
  9. Cheers Andy - just wondering how long this took?
  10. PM zmanalex he was able to get me the cd changer/criuse control switches!
  11. Sorry guys I did search but I didn't find what I was looking for.. I must have entered the wrong search terms! sorry folks but thanks for the results!!
  12. Just wanted to say that this car is still in the forum and I'm the new proud owner... latest pics are here; https://picasaweb.google.com/113096745828978616388/350z quick clean also here (previously posted in media section) http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=259655
  13. Well guys thanks to zmanalex I've finally got new steering wheel controls(would recommend Alex btw!!) that work however I need to take the steering wheel off.. I cant find any details on here can anyone confirm how its done please? Also is it easy to replace the controls? what's best way to keep the wheel straight ? I was thinking some blue m3 tape on the wheel and dash.. then match it up perfectly against the wheel... what's everyone's thoughts? Thanks, Adam.
  14. also listed here which kind of confirms it for everyone! thanks for the post http://www.350z-tech.com/wiki/index.php ... 0Z_Manuals
  15. ^-- its a lovely drive too fella we did a Renaultsport Clio/Megane drive.. was great! Insurance taken out and paid for this morning.. Got 8 days to wait now... I think it maybe worse now!!
  16. Well folks its 10 days until the 350z insurance is active.. 10 days of hell... I've been waiting from 9th of January so an extra week and a half wont make much difference... But I'm damn excited.. My mate who has an MX5 has agreed a 'welcome' drive of the car across the Northcoast of Northern Ireland.. (The north coast is THIS road). I'll be sure to get lots of pictures of the trip out.. Should be a great day!
  17. I asked the same question mate you can run 97 ron as its high octane...but recommended 98+ if possible (over in Northern Ireland we only have 97ron) Although take a look here and this is what happens if you use 95 ron and kick the balls out of the engine viewtopic.php?f=17&t=58599&start=0 You can run on 95 ron but don't rev over 5000 rpm as the knock sensor is useless

  20. Just wondering if hes OK? Sent him a pm a few weeks back but got no reply.. Just checked his status today by clicking his account and Last visited: Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:49 pm Month and a half ago! Anyone heard from him?
  21. Haha yeah fella the previous owner got it and gave it to me when I bought the car I was looking at AD56 ZED which is available for £199 AD = Adam 56 = late 06 (mines dec 06) ZED = ..well this one explains itself.. Problem being it wouldn't be a NI plate
  22. Yup even for my RenaultSport Clio197 (on average 170 bhp) it cost £890 last year and quotes coming in similar this year Glad to see its just not me.. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=56299
  23. 24 and live in Northern Ireland.. The capital of "we like to burn out cars" (well in the insurance companies eyes). All of Northern Ireland is highest risk rated post code
  24. Called M&S to cancel the auto renew and tried to get a quote for the Z.. only to find out they recorded my NCB wrong when signing up.. instead of having 4 I have will have 3 come renewal.. I asked to see my proof on NCB that I sent them as I know it had 3 on it and they said it couldn't be sent because they only confirm that's what it says then it gets binned.. I checked my policy docs from them and no where on it does it include how much NCB I have!! grrr... so all the other quotes I'd gotten on-line where with 4 years NCB... panic set in to say the least.. as soon as I got off the phone I checked my latest quote with Admiral which was £1111 with 4 years NCB.. I changed it to 3 and prayed.. it came back.. an increase was expected.. it went up to..... £1114 a whopping £3 increase... then I noticed.. all mods where declared apart from exhaust! my heart set to explode again I ticked the exhaust modification box and then click get price.. thankfully it stayed the same... Don't want to check it again today as I don't know if I can take it!!
