  1. Just remembered something, be careful when routing the mic cable. Mine worked fine but when I got my Lights and Dials Huskyfied my mic stopped working, tracked it back and found it was pinched between a bit of trim... so be careful
  2. Just check the connection on the back of the unit, I think mine is a 2.5mm mini jack, have a look on the Pioneer website and download the manual for your unit that should have all the technical info
  3. I would say their offer to fix it for free is very nice seeing as they caused the problem! Erratic revs etc sounds like a problem with the butterfly valve as you said and not sure any amount of resetting will sort that out
  4. Whether a Sports car or GT I doubt anyone buys a 370z and doesn't want people to look at them, indeed a lot of 370z owners are disappointed with the standard exhaust set up being too quiet and want more noise, therefore attracting MORE attention... The 370z doesn't come in uber lairy colours does it? The Yellow / White / Blue / Red are fairly reserved but IMO show the cars lines off better than a dull colour. Black is ok but you see a lot of black cars around these days, bright Silver is ok but almost every repmobile is silver... any shade of grey is just If I was walking round with Cameron Diaz and wanted to show her off I wouldn't send her to Primark to buy an outfit... Anyway you have to choose the colour yourself to go with your own personality
  5. Why wouldn't you take it back to the garage and tell them to sort it out?
  6. Nothing wrong with a bit of home made video being uploaded
  7. Nobody is bashing anyone I saw the post last week about premiums going up if you said you garage your car so surely a higher risk, and then today I get told its too high a risk to not have a garage... I am personally not too fussed as already stated we have had a LOWER renewal from our current insurer but I believe it is information that should be made available for other members. If it is a mistake and they 'Quote me happy' then I will be the first to put another thread on here singing their praises
  8. Someone asked us if we were married at the weekend and I said, no she isn't that lucky
  9. Nice one BM I shall attempt this at some point this week once my teeth are sorted
  10. I've Emailed him too... Should be tres interesting considering he sent me off with a flea in my ear last week when I dared to question why parking IN a garage was more expensive. Slightly upsetting for you though Dave; - No garage = no insurance - garage = premium loaded as high risk of bashing your car in the garage Yeah talk about no choice I will be interested in the reply, especially as other members have stated they park on road and I live in a low / med risk area in Dartford, Kent. Strange as when Sky installed my Sky+ box they didn't ask about window locks?
  11. I rest my case I ran my cable all the way round the A pillar over the screen behind the headlining and just left of the visor, so that a passenger can talk on the phone without struggling to reach the mic on the A pillar without shouting Thats a lot of trouble to go to for a passenger, I take the stand that a passenger is lucky to be in the car with me anyway
  12. Can't see a situation that would benefit from that particular mod I suppose you could watch the car behind while you hit the one in front I haven't begun fitting mine yet but I am thinking I should just run 2 cables from front to back, one from the reverse light to the HU and one from the camera to the HU, and then also a power cable from the reverse light to the camera. So engage reverse, light comes on, camera comes on and HU switches to rear view....
  13. I think they do about 30 shades of grey to choose from Personally I think a sports car, and in particular a Roadster should be in a bright colour, Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Green etc... it needs to stand out. If you want to blend in with a bland colour then maybe buy a bland car
  14. Ditto tyres, exhausts, fuel economy etc etc etc but then if everybody searched for everything and commented in the right places it would be boring wouldn't it
  15. And considering he has porn star for an avatar I reckon he's an expert on the subject. Prolly won't help matters if I say that I'll be giving her some pipe too.... (My old K1) I bet you had a good look at the cubby hole too And let's stop it there. Family forum. Meh! always room for some innuendo
  16. I have to say I didn't like the finish of di-noc and took it all off, but even a mongtard like me managed to wrap everything
  17. Welcome Back Apparently Dave was overcome with Joy when the decision was made -
  18. Starting to agree with you RE doing anything OEM. Yes, I have a mic, just wanted to try to use standard.... You will probably find the Pioneer one is WAY better than the oem one anyway and given the frequency problems with the bose amps etc you could end up using this to make calls -
  19. Have a go yourself the wrap is fairly cheap and all you need is a hair dryer and a sharp knife What kind of wrap were they trying to use? Di-Noc is difficult but certainly not impossible, hardest bit is around the dials the rest is fairly simple really...
  20. And considering he has porn star for an avatar I reckon he's an expert on the subject. Prolly won't help matters if I say that I'll be giving her some pipe too.... (My old K1) I bet you had a good look at the cubby hole too
  21. I ran the mic that came with my Pioneer up the A Pillar works absolutely fine for me I think trying to do anything with the OEM mic is likely to fail, and as it is in the dome of death I personally would not risk it Does the Pioneer BT unit not come with its own mic?
  22. Thanks Lexx, I thought it was complete bollox myself but my Missus phoned them just go get a quote, even though our renewal is actually a bit lower than last year and that is taking into account an accident that hasn't been resolved yet. This time last year we phoned Sky and were told that because we had not insured the car for 12 months they wouldn't touch us, well they did quote but it was twice what we could get, thought this year I would give them the chance as so many members had given good write ups. All started well, they asked for the forum name and username, went though all the usual questions, then asked about where the car was kept, we said in a residential car park off road, they asked if it was secured, answered no and then told if it was unsecured and no garage then not insurable. Our post code is DA11, the quote last year was for SE9 so surely a better area and that is backed up by the cheaper quote this year from our current insurer as if we still in SE9 I would be expecting a increase along with 99% of the population...
  23. Just phoned Sky as now we have had the Zed for a full insurance year we would hopefully be able to swap to them and get a good deal like many other members on here... But unfortunately if you do not garage your Zed or have it in lockable gates then they can't insure you... Strange as last year we managed to get a quote even though we had neither Does anyone know if Chris Knott have the same requirements before I waste another call?
