  1. And oh how I remember the orangeness..... but I dont miss it
  2. Add all your 4's and all your 5's together and your close...
  3. My factory fitted sat nav works fine...its got Japanese writing but someone very kindly put little stickers on the buttons in English the time on that is fine but not on the radio When I come to the meet next Saturday I would be very grateful of any tips on the car Lots of knowledgable people coming to the meet..... and me
  4. Ooooooo! Just what I'm looking for.....I think, are you going to the meet on 28th in Kent? Bit cheeky but im coming to the meet and I have a much superior unit for sale that I would take £350 for, its a Pioneer F900bt, have a look and let me know, I won't be offended if it isn't what your looking for
  5. Anyone know the exact length of these? Mine are beyond a clean up, they are a bit rounded and need replacing
  6. This is why I would never consider an OEM satnav device, hugely expensive and very poor aftersales updates etc etc. ok they look the part but who cares if the maps are 2 years old and you cant add things like speed cameras or enter full postcodes if you want to? I paid £150 for a navman 7" touch screen unit that i can update easily and cost me £20 for speed camera updates for the year. New maps are about £40 but the ones it came with are bang up to date anyway Car manufacturers in general seem to be ripping customers off with OEM satnavs imo....they know you would be silly to spec a car these days without satnav for resale so they have you over a barrell unless tou want to rip your interior apart to fit an aftermarket model.
  7. Keep meaning to put this on eBay, seems the going rate is about £350... certainly a lot of kit for that price
  8. Never had one but I believe it just slots into the cradle Have a search on here, you need to take quite a bit of trim off from the boot to get the strut out, if you manage it without taking a layer of skin off all your fingers then well done Beat you this time Must be time for bed then

  10. Sounds like you have the bluetooth harness but not the adapter It's a £80ish module that connects to your phone (not physically)
  11. That thread is the one I looked at when I fitted the exact same unit a Pioneer F900bt, when I fitted my JVC it was just a case of swapping a wire here and there as some were in the loom and some came straight from the unit. I had never fitted a car stereo before I got my Zed, it really isn't that difficult if a. you get the correct parts and b. you read through the thread and your manual carefully are work out what each wire actually does and where it needs to go.... pretty basic stuff but it works
  12. Why not save up a bit and get a decent one
  13. There should be a ground wire, no need to solder anything Just attach the grounding wire to the chassis of the car, there is a handy bolt near the gear knob
  14. That thread is perfect, the RCA's are for front & rear L&R. You will get no power until you earth the unit Take a break, read through that thread and see if it makes sense
  15. Thanks a buch Lexx.... you have completely ruined it for me now ..... at least Father Christmas is real Yeah, but he doesn't have a Canadian visa..... Awww FFS I wouldn't concern yourself, I happen to know you are not a very good boy anyway
  16. And quite right too Like I said I don't know how bad it would be running different wheels / tyres etc as I am no expert and never been foolish enough to try it... also I always thought people who posted about turning of traction control to get a proper 'feel' of the car were complete knobs but I have to say when mine was faulty the car felt great I remember saying to Mark at Abbey that although the TCS/ABS and slip lights were on I had been driving the car for over a month and it felt fine so maybe it was faulty lights as the traction control MUST be working... He took the car for a 5 minute drive and told me with a huge grin that I had been driving with NO aids for definite
  17. I don't know about having miss matched tyres as badly as that but I drove through winter 2010/2011 with no TCS or ABS and I didn't fly off the roads in a fireball... I had never driven a RWD without traction control but I just did my commute to work sensibly and that was in all weathers, wet, icy even light snow until I had the chance to get to Abbey and sort things out. And before anyone says I am stupid if I had felt even slightly uncomfortable or unsafe I wouldn't have risked it for a second. What if I had a blow out and had to use my spacesaver, would I be fecking mental to drive home? I am pretty sure the space saver isnt 245/45/18 ? I'm not after starting an argument I just think it is a bit of an over reaction that's all
  18. Don't listen to the clown Its an RSW CF kit and all my interior lights have been changed to white LEDs and the centre of the heater controls blue
  19. Cheers although it sounds like it is a bit more than he requires but yeah still open to offers
  20. You should know us by now Graham, never a missed opportunity Yep
  21. If the phone is jailbroken it is fairly simple to unlock it to all networks though
  22. Did you get 4 wheel alignment done when you put the falkens on? My last set of Bridgestones lasted 24k and the wear was even... Almost as much spirited driving as you bar the Hoon although a lot more miles inbetween so maybe a poor comparison...
