  1. That's a bummer mate, but yeah buyer beware The Pioneer BT unit for that model is the CD BTB200 adapter you might struggle to find one new but should be a few on fleaBay
  2. Something useful I noticed the other day was the little clip for the petrol cap to hang on when you are filling up.... over 2 years and I only noticed it the other day
  3. I'm all for individuality, I have private plates on both my cars but this subject has come up on here before... If you like the plate and it makes you smile when you look at it fine, but if you have had to space it or add bolts like some people do then don't expect anyone else to share the joke, because it just looks silly... You will have to take the plates on and off for MOT, not a major hassle but if the old bill are bored or just take a dislike to you then they will give you grief too For what its worth I think undersized or square plates look silly on a Zed, but thats a personal thing
  4. Lol +1 to that, ill bring the beers. Yes you can drink it through a straw.... through the hole in the roof! Just to make things clear.... I am not making a hole in the roof of my Zed I am probably going to take off the standard aerial base and replace the whole thing with something a bit better.... although I might have a try with a splitter cable first as they are only £20
  5. This look right ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Incartec-JVC- ... 0796619220 Only other thing iv seen is the Pioneer AVH-4200 Yep thats the cable yeah the Pioneer is a bit cheaper but not full screen, has buttons down the side....
  6. If it was the earth the unit would fire up then almost immediately power off, if everything wirks but no sound then you have either not connected the RCAs or as i said above the remote to amp is not connected or wrongly connected
  7. Most common cause for lack of sound is that you don't have the remote cable to the amp connected, so the unit fires up, sends a signal but the amp is still asleep.... Check your connections
  8. Steering wheel controller - www.incartec.co.uk Model - 29-004SW You don't need SD if you have USB... For some reason you can inly get custom backgrounds from video screenshots on the AVX840 Only other 'nice' full screen DD I have seen is the Alpine one but it is a lot dearer...
  9. I am glad that meeting me was balanced out by meeting Darren also +1 on the friendship and advice, in fact hopefully Darren is getting his hands on my nipples next weekend hope he warms his hands up
  10. I have done a search honest Has anyone changed their aerial? I have a JVC DAB add-on unit and also a DVB box that would both require a DAB aerial. Options are - Stick on window type aerial had one of these with my Pure Highway DAB in the Leon and they suck Mini aerial - I just got one of these for the Pure Highway, basically a little magnetic aerial that you can either stick on the roof or use inside the car, have to say I am quite impressed, good reception and thats just from being stood up on the parcel shelf Bolt on roof aerial I am not drilling a hole in the roof of my Zed! DAB adapter - a cable that runs off the normal aerial and gives DAB reception as well, reviews are very patchy can be good but most probably pants especially with a stubby aerial! Replace the existing aerial with a DAB / AM / FM one - this is what I am leaning to as it will give the best results, ok it may be a little bigger than a stubby but still not as big as the stock aerial. Has anyone replaced or had to replace (via vandalism etc) their existing aerial including the base, I am guessing it isn't hugely difficult to get to the underside of the base hopefully. I am looking at one of these as a starting point - JVC HAL2 DAB/AM/FM roof Mount Antenna
  11. I wasn't looking for backing as I know I am always right Seriously though we had a team of guys working all night clearing our yard and all the roads around were clear also so absolutely no issue for the drivers once they got in, and at the end of the day they are professionals so should be able to cope better with poorer than normal road conditions seeing as they drive for a living... An example of my ethos, a driver called in at 3am to say he had tried to move his car but couldn't so he was going to walk in from Tilbury to Thurrock , just as I put the phone down another guy rang in who lives in the same area to say it was too dangerous to even leave his house and in his opinion too dangerous to drive. When I said that we already had other drivers in and out on the road he said that was their choice, so I told him it was also my choice if I paid him or not and my choice was that I wouldn't. No doubt he will speak to his union rep and try and get my ar$e hauled in but the fact is the other guy actually walked PAST his house to get in and knows this driver and said that his drive / car / house was untouched by human hand so he had obviously decided that he wouldn't even attempt to try and get in. The guy that spent an hour walking to work was given a short local run and sent home, he will be paid for 10 hours work today, they guy that is probably still in his pyjamas and slippers will get paid feck all, simples I'm not a hypocrite, I drove my Zed into work last night at 8pm and I drove it home at 6am this morning. If I lived in a remote inaccessible area through choice I would drive something suitable and most likely 4wD. I just think that the attitude of some spoils it for the main, last year we had a driver 'stranded' at home for nearly 3 weeks in the bad weather.... where does he live? Alaska? The Scottish Highlands? Cornwall? Nope he lives in Tunbridge Wells
  12. I say NO as it is just a get out for everyone to not bother! Not saying for one minute that people should risk their own and others cars or even lives but I had several conversations with my drivers this morning who expected to stay in their warm bed and get paid too... I had no issue with them using any remaining holidays but if they had none left then no show, no pay... Their choice to live in the middle of nowhere and not prepare for the bad weather... Harsh or fair?
  13. Very good Clown! This is the best snow sculpture ever Last time I go dogging in winter I can tell you

  15. Slightly colder here Jim.... Luckily I got an undercover parking spot at work so no snow to clear... should be an interesting drive home
  16. THose that like chavvy loud exhausts will always say the Milltek is quiet, it is only a little louder than stock but that isn't always a bad thing. Like Will said if you pair it up with some Berks it is lovely
  17. Well there was no snow when I drove the Zed to work but a fair bit about now I will be taking it nice and slow and careful on the way home in the morning Summer tyres and no snow socks for me Luckily I have driven my Zed in the snow the last 2 winters so I know its limits
