  1. Pricing wise I was looking a while back for LEGo for my Godson for his birthday and the standard sets i.e. Pirate Ship or Fire Engine were not too bad but anything Star Wars related was just silly prices, I guess there is the licensing etc but still looked too high

You're probably right, but as I'm not a Star Wars fan, I haven't looked into those prices much at all. The Ghostbusters car was £45 and over 500 pieces, what do you think of that pricing? I think for the 2 hours of fun I had with the other half building it and the great display piece it will be coupled with the nostalgia of the 80's, it was a freaking bargain :D

Doesn't sound bad value at all :)

  2. 2 words................and one of them ends in "off"

. . and just to make you feel even better, they think by mid Jan it will be somewhere in the $0.70's Cents per litre region :yahoo: :yahoo:

    :teeth:

Yes but you have to drive 500 miles to the local shop :p

  3. I guess Shell are banking on those with more money than sense who insist that V-Power is spectacularly better than anything else....

This is what I did lol. Oopsie.

Never been so sad to be right

  4. Even though its out of warranty, I reckon Samsung may help you out. The item wasn't fit for purpose and has failed within a timeframe which the TV should have been reasonably expected to last.

Very doubtful mate, there is the sales of goods act but electrical goods are excluded I believe, could be wrong...

Nope, had the same issue. Got myself a new screen for free out with warranty. Theres a couple of things that you need to prove but consumer advice will advise on it.

Fair enough mate, good to know

  5. Too late now, but next time if you can buy from richersounds, their 5 year supercare guarantee is the only warrantee I would ever purchase, it's brilliant and cheap and if you don't use it they give your money back!!!

    http://www.richersou...tion/warranties

    Extract below:

"If you use your 5 Year Supercare, we’ll:

    • Supply you with a free loan unit, so you never have to go without your music/films.

    • Replace any machine that cannot be repaired with a like-for-like equivalent.

    • Offer you free routine servicing and maintenance checks as often as you want.

    • Give you a 45-day cooling off period. If you change your mind within 45 days, we’ll give you a full refund. No questions asked. You may also terminate the agreement at any time during the guarantee period, and get a pro-rata discount.

    • Cover the specified items for 5 years.

As well as all of this, you can claim your money back at the end of the 5 year period if unused.

Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we’ll refund the price of your guarantee."

Yep totally agree I normally don't bother with warranties but Richer Sounds ones are very good, touch wood I have never had to use one though

  8. I could go for an obvious one to do with kids or partner etc but I would say for sheer excitement and pleasure it was bumping in to Black Francis in the toilets of the Dublin Castle waiting to see Madness (Dangermen) quite a few years back. A very cool fella and the Pixies are one of my favourite bands :band:

  9. Very nice Chris, so sorry it will not be used for its original intended purpose though

Thanks Dave - Not been the best year for me - looking forwards to putting 2014 behind me and hope for a better 2015

Yep that's the best way to look at it big man, glass half full, life goes on and all that, hope to catch up at a meet in the New Year :winkiss:

  10. I looked at a Roc a while back and just couldn't live with that rear, at best looks like a van, at worst :yuck:

    Each to their own though!

Only colour I liked it in was white though

Black is nice too, IMO but just like white have to keep it clean, at least the business would be paying to have it washed!

True, black slims the wide arse on it but as you say just keeping it clean that would be a pain :surrender:

  11. Petrol prices dropping even lower! I'm sure I saw standard unleaded at a bargainous 107.9p per litre up in Derby at the weekend... thought it must have been an error, but perhaps not! Very much looking forward to the annual Christmas journey to visit family, 400mile round trip in the zed as long as the weather holds!

Anyone else taking their zeds out of hibernation for their xmas travels?

    117.9 surely?

Definitely a nice bonus though, almost as cheap as 4 years ago :yahoo:

With this and the improved dartford crossing my commute is almost becoming a joy

  12. I had more knobs than I can remember in my Zed, most of them just wanted to look at my CF and dials / LEDs

In fact one now Canadian knob left his knob in my Zed

  13. ^^ Cheers for the comments guys,

Just spoke to my company, who deal with social housing - We have some garages near me up for rent :woop woop:

They are just bog standard garages, which could possibly be 6/7ft - 8ft deep. Their going to give me the keys to take a look at some point, but it's a starting point, hopefully it's big enough :)

I bet you get more dings and scratches getting in and out that you ever would parked on the road :p

Check insurance too, a lot of companies actually charge MORE if your car is garaged...
