nope its a holden
Finally someone appreciates the sarcasm !
Datsun sorry Nissan arguably have a greater racing pedigree but they produce some terrible cars and a few very nice ones, pretty much like Vauxhall. I don't see that it is possible to have a Zed and be a badge snob, the whole point of a Zed is that it is a V6 sports coupe that is affordable to the 'common man' as said very eloquently by Chromatic.
I loved my Zed but I never looked down at people who did not 'get it' I had comments at work good and bad and took both with similar grace, I never once felt the need to floor it at the lights and snake away to prove what was under my bonnet.

Why would a kid be bothered what is under the bonnet of a 12 year old car :shrug;

911 is a squashed Beetle, Scirrocco is a golf in a petty coat, a pretty petty coat though
You seem to have a bit of a thing for Vauxhalls, why dont you buy one?
I wouldn't mind a Monaro V8, whats wrong with that?

How have I missed the point?
The OP said someone on FB thought their Zed was a Vauxhall, I was saying why is that a bad thing?
If they had though it was a Porsche everyone would be raving
If it is the traffic light race post then it is a mighty cool story...

Go for a decent brand double din headunit, about £300-£400 will get a very nice one, add about another £400 at least for satnav
I always went for last years model for a bargain as when new units come out the older ones go pretty cheap
That wont improve SQ too much just adds functionality and makes the interior look more up to date (no tape deck!)
Then decide if you just want to replace the speakers or amp them and get a new sub
I did everything as I love my music but to be perfectly honest and unbiased the Zed is such a noisy car that it was not money wasted exactly but maybe wouldn't have bothered really...
Yes you can fit 100kg of dynomat but the Zed is still a bloody noisy car
