    BMW Mini's?

I used to have a facelift 54 plate Mini cooper S John Cooper Works, it had every option JCW bucket seats, JCW engine upgrade, JCW exhaust, JCW body kit, JCW alloys, Harman Kardan stereo and speakers etc. I I sold it at the end of last year after having it 5 months. I had a Zed before buying the mini and it just wasn't the same from build quality and engine sound, although the JCW exhaust does have a very nice popping sound to it The car was great fun to drive and extremely fast , i believe the JCW engine upgrade made it about 210bhp. I heard that the newer turbocharged versions suffer from turbo lag compared to the supercharged. sopmething you might want to consider. Models before the facelift 54 plate had quite a few problems, a problem with steering column was one of them and quite pricey to fix. They put all this right on the facelift 54 plate.
  3. Rare to see a car like that in chertsey at all.
  4. Sounds like the one from a dealer in Yorkshire. It was on my shorlist of Zeds to go and look at, you beat me to it. I remember them describing it as an out of the box 350z. Congratulations
  5. Is this the one from yorkshire?
  6. No pics unfortunately, only the ones he sent me of the scratches.
  7. Nice and local. That would be great if you could ask him. Do you know the mileage?
  8. Is that one for sale?? It will definitely need to be a good job. How much would you say for a bonnet, front bumper and lip, would the front wings need spraying to match the bonnet and bumper?
  9. Yeah it really was £300 for alloys sounds reasonable. I could make the guy a silly offer and see what he thinks......................... Im thinking £2k to do the lot, but thats just me plucking a figure out of the sky
  10. and i absolutely loved it! The red looks soooooooo good in the flesh/metal Its an 06 facelift model with full nismo kit with 40,000 miles, 2 previous owners and as far as i could tell it's in great working order, engine seems fine, clutch, electics all good etc, full regular service history and due to have a service next week. BUT........ There are some bad points mainly cosmetic 1. Deep 10cm long scratch to rear wheel arch (definite re-spray) 2. Scratch and deep chip on the bonnet (definite re-spray) 3. Spider cracks appearing on the front bumper and the paint has runs in it on one corner (should really be re-sprayed) 4. Rear bumper is not alligned properly and isn't flush with the rear arches (looks like it's popped out at the top) 5. Interior drivers door handle is scratch to hell. 6. 19" nismo alloys need a refurb. 7. Rear tyres need replacing Its such a shame that its in this condition as i would have bought it there and then had it been in good nick. The guy is asking for £12,750, but i dont think anyone would buy it in the condition its in. He said he would deduct the cost of re-spray from the price as he would prefer to sell it as it is. I have no idea how much it would cost to do the re-spray and refurb the alloy wheels and neither does he, so i asked him to get a quote so at least we he can see how much to drop the price. Does anyone know how much a re-spray like listed above could potentially cost? Maybe someone on here has had similar work done. I could make the guy an offer if i had an idea on cost. Cheers Steve
  11. I had a red Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16v W Registration when i was about 18, so about 8 years ago. You could actually see the paint dribbling into an orange colour, no matter how much it was polished it wouldn't change. Any way i sold it to a mate and he stuck it under a lorry (he was fine)
  12. Thats a very kind offer Sarah, i might take you up on that offer tomorrow if i get a chance after work.
  13. Yeah we're not too far from each other. All the years I've been driving through or working in Chobham I don't think I have ever seen your Zed. I'll be driving through Chobham in the next 30 mins. I have my concerns with how much the scratches on this particular Zed would cost to repair, the car is in Liverpool and might be taking a look on Saturday after I've picked up the alloys I recently purchased. He has already said he wants to sell it as it is, but would deduct the cost of repairs from the asking price. Does the Chilli Red look better in the flesh, I'm not normally a fan of red since my last red car faded to orange.
  14. Hi Chaps, I'm still looking for another Zed. I came across a Chilli Red one with full nismo kit, it has some scratch damage on the wheel arch about the length and a half of a credit card( according to the pics he sent me) it also has some scratches on the bonnet. Any ideas on how much it costs these days to have this type of thing repaired? I would attach picks but not sure how, plus I'm at work and don't have access to a computer just my iPhone. My main concern about the Chilli Red is paint fade, has this happened to anyone on here or does it not happen these days? Thanks Chaps Steve
  15. Leaning right over to make sure the belt buckle puts a few scratches on there too.................................
  16. I had the same problem with my old Zed, it turned out that the hose had perished on the end so the jubilee clip wasn't really doing anything. I just replaced the small section of pipe and a couple of clips and it was fine after that. The front bumper would have to come off so that you can get to it though.

    Headlights

Thats not too bad, considering the difference they make to the Zeds appearance. Are yours custom?

Once i sort myself out with a Zed, i'll get in touch with husky and see what he can do. Custom headlights would be cool

Before i purchase another Zed i was wondering if it was possible to put facelift headlights onto a pre facelift Zed? If so how easy is it to get hold of and fit a set? When i owned my first Zed it was a facelift model and i much prefered the look of the headlights compared to the pre facelift.
